Okay here's a companion piece to my "Jeremy Knox What The Hell Is Up With Your Family Evidence". I wanted to have a bullet point list so it was easier to keep track of everything. I am aware that this is probably excessive lol again if I missed anything feel free to let me know! I tried to keep all of my personal theories out of it and just present the facts but I included a couple explanations

Home

- "The trick to starting Saturdays off in the right foot was to get out of the house as early as possible. He'd realize years ago that he'd never be the first one awake"

- is on very good terms with the butler, William Hunter. William has coffee ready for him when he leaves in the morning, and texts him that his older brother and stepfather are in the sitting room when Jeremy gets home so he can avoid them and opens the front door for him

- is required to stay at the house during the weekday while school is in session. He is allowed to go to Cat and Laila's house on the weekends and over summer break. "Jean didn't miss away Jeremy's gaze slid past him to peer into the distance, or the tight tug at the corner of Cat's mouth. Jeremy was still smiling but the light had gone out in it" when talking about his living situation

Step Family / Mother 

- step grandfather is a congressman 

- "he'd wasted years arguing against such events, as he had absolutely no relation to his stepsfather's father, but his mother refused to budge. If a Congress man needed a picture perfect family for photo ops, the Knox family was duty bound to dress up and smile bright for the exhausting number of cameras"

- His stepfather's last name is Wilshire 

- is stated that he is permanently on his stepfather's bad side 

- told Jean not to call him by his last name, Knox 

- says that he will maybe do frosted tips next year after he's graduated and doesn't have to deal with the fallout and was kicked out of family dinner because of his bleached hair

- Jeremy says " 'I've never been to Europe. Dad's been stationed there a couple times, but....' " The wording makes me feel like his biological father is still alive but they aren't in touch 

- Jeremy's mother picked his therapist

Siblings 

- does not get along with his older brother, Bryson

- Jeremy left the house without his keys in order to avoid a confrontation with Bryson.

Later on he states that he "idly wished he'd been brave enough to get his keys"

- Bryson lives at home during the summer and goes to college on the East Coast

- does not get along with his sister, Annalise

- Annalise "insisted on keeping her own place on the other side of the city year round"

- in the one scene with Annalise she is very hostile to Jeremy:

•"more drama...".   •"Overdue for a new scandal, hm?' she asked. 'End the way you started.' He didn't flinch but it was a near thing. Once upon a time she had gone to all of his high school games, but once upon a time was before the fall banquet that broke their family in half she's gone out of her way to forget everything she knew about Exy since then, and she'd never forgiven him for sticking with it. He'd walk through a hundred hypothetical arguments with his therapist in preparation for the day he finally fought back, but every time the chance came, he watched it slip past and miserable silence." • " sent him an arch look. 'What’s Grandpa think of this investment of yours?' It was obvious bait, but that couldn’t keep the edge out of Jeremy’s fierce, 'He is not our grandfather.' 'Careful,' Annalise warned him as she rummaged for her keys. 'You already destroyed the family. Don’t destroy my future, too. Door.' "

- asks Lucas if he feels safe with his brother and when Lucas says he's my brother Jeremy says that's not what I asked 

- Cat hesitates when telling Jean how many siblings Jeremy has. She says there are three, one sister and two brothers. The older brother is an absolute tool and she nervously pushes her fries around her plate after speaking

- The second brother is never mentioned and seems to have a big part in The Incident. Potentially also played Exy. Is unknown if he is fully related, half sibling, or step sibling. Most likely younger than Jeremy

Money 

- Jeremy keeps meticulous track of his receipts and how he spends his money. There are three different times it is pointed out that he keeps the receipt and puts it in his wallet

- "It was always best to have a paper trail when dealing with his mother's bookkeeper"

- gives Cat the remaining money in his wallet to help with groceries and rent even though "Cat was more concerned with how many hoops it took him to pull it together when he was permanently on his stepfather's bad side"

Miscellaneous 

- Jeremy avoids the cops sitting at the park. Says there was little to no chance he'd know them, and no reason they'd recognize him, but Jeremy kept his gaze forward and his mouth shut until they were passed

- Rhemann says he will call the cops on Grayson if Jean wants him to and that he will "send Jeremy away first". Could be because Jean said that he did not want Jeremy in the room while Rhemann was cleaning his injuries and he figured Jean wouldn't want Jeremy there when he was talking to the police or it could have to do with Jeremy hiding his face from the cops at the park

- has specific fun ringtones for everybody except his family. Becomes very tense whenever they contact him

- automatically calls Wayne's suicide an accident and then "grimaced like it wasn't at all the word he wanted to use" perhaps whatever happened, his family calls The Incident an accident instead of what actually happened 

- responds with " 'that isn't a joke,' Jeremy said, with an unexpected ferocity' " when Jean jokes about suicide

- Cat says no judgment when it comes to therapy and the right therapist can be life-changing and to look at Jeremy for proof. Insinuating that The Incident was fairly traumatic

Does anyone know how long Andrew was with Aaron and Tilda before he killed her? Because I've read the series 3 times and I was convinced that it was never mentioned... until I was looking for something random in the first book and came across this:

So, here's a rough timeline of Andrew's life (mentions of SA, as per Andrew's backstory):

Born: put in the system

7 years old: His first time being SA. Steven (foster father) makes him say please

7 (or 8)-12 years old: SA at least 2 more times (Jesse and Samuel)

Overall 0-12 years old: moves around 12 different houses, none of them good

12 years old: Moves in with the Spears, start of Drake

12-13 years old: Andrew meets Higgins

13 years old: Higgins meets Aaron, Aaron contacts Andrew, Andrew gets himself thrown in juvie (in March)

(Side note in May of that year Tilda moves herself and Aaron to Columbia)

13-16 years old: Andrew is in juvie, starts playing Exy

15 years old: Aaron, Luther and Andrew meet for a half hour while Andrew is in juvie

16 years old: Andrew leaves juvie, moves in with Aaron and Tilda, Aaron and Andrew make their deal, 5mo later he kills Tilda, moves in with Nicky, gets Aaron clean, starts playing Exy in high school

17 years old: starts working at Eden's, meets Roland (who was 22-23), starts his thing with Roland, Andrew defends Nicky and get put on the drugs

17-18 years old (Sr year of hs): visited by Kevin and Riko

17-18 (most likely 18, 1 month after the Kev&Riko stuff): recruited to the Foxes by Wymack

18 years old: Andrew graduates, starts with the Foxes

18-19 years old: 1st year of college, Betsy tells Andrew the story of Robin Cross during one of their sessions

19 years old: meets Kevin and makes their deal

19 years old: The Foxhole court

19-20 years old: The Raven King, 2nd year of college

20 years old: The Kings Men

20-21 years old: 3rd year or college

21 years old: The Goxes go skiing

21-22 years old: 4th year of college

22 years old (February): Andrew tells Wymack to recruit Robin Cross

22 years old (July or August): (Robin joins the team in June) Andrew tells Robin to fight back, takes Robin to Eden's and they talk, Andrew allows Robin into the group and has her move in with them, starts sharing a bed with Neil

22-23 years old: 5th year of college, Andrew teaches Robin how to use Renee’s knives, Andrew (and the rest of the monsters that are left) help Robin get better at Exy

23 years old: Andrew graduates, he leaves Robin his knives (and Nicky leaves her a key to the Columbia house)

23 years old: Andrew joins his 1st pro team

24 years old: Neil graduates

24-25 years old: Andrew continues on the 1st pro team, Neil joins a different pro team, they make an effort to see each other

25 years old: Andrew joins a pro team with a former Raven as the coach, Andrew and Neil make an effort to see each other a lot

26 years old: Neil joins Andrew's team,

26+ years old: Neil and Andrew move in together and get cats, the rest of his life

(24+ years old (as in at some point during his professional Exy career but idk when): he qualifies for Court, they win gold at the Olympics)

That took quite a bit of research, but it was fun to make! Everything is confirmed through the books and the Extra Content. If there wasn't an exact year I put a range. Should I do a timeline for anyone else?

I didn’t go into details with the stuff in the books but I totally could. I already have a timeline of specific events with exact dates in the books if anyone is interested. Let me know and I'll post it!

riko :: what if

“Finally a stranger steps forward to introduce himself and his team of psychiatrists. The university has brought in counselors, he says. The university has called their parents. The university is closing the Nest.”

What if instead of being killed, what if Riko was alive when Tetsuji stepped down? What if he was there with the other ravens, watching Jasmine break a tv and dragged away? What if he lived?

Would it have been better? Would he have survived? Could he?

intensive therapy is required for him, but it’s hard, because he’s in his twenties now, they don’t say it but he knows the therapists and social workers he meets with don’t have high hopes for him to make a full recovery. too old they say, he was in there too long, it’s a miracle he is still alive

exy is all he knows and it’s stripped away; no one wants the raven captain on their team, not after the news articles. not after the interviews. he’s a risk, they say, a liability, he’s clearly unstable, they can’t keep someone like him in line, after all, those from the nest are damaged goods, he is not worth the effort

he was not abused; everything that happened to him was for a reason, he argues, he is better because of it, he would not be perfect court would not be captain would not be himself if he wasn’t; he gets violent, lashing out, getting cruel when the therapist asks him if he thinks it was worth it

what does she mean? being the best will always be worth it, there is nothing for him if it’s not number one

when she asks if being so afraid was worth being the best, he has no response

his body has been absorbing trauma since he was born; he had exy to help expel it, it kept him from crumbling to pieces, it was easy to believe that what was done to him was because he was a Son of Exy, that the pain and suffering was birthright because he would win Olympic gold and all the trauma is justified if it makes you better, stronger, makes you able to take a hit and by god he knew how to take a hit and he learned how to make his own count and he made sure his ravens knew it too because if his bite could not drown out his bark he would not survive

even after kevin abandoned him, when tetusji made sure that he was more blood and bruises than skin, he picked up his pieces and came back a thunderstorm of his own making because exy was a birthright no one could take from him, he would survive without kevin, he had to

he is a villain but not entirely of his own creation, he was molded into hatred and fed pain instead of love; he is at fault for everything he’s done but what was done to him was not his fault, it is a hard pill to swallow; the pain he considered birthright was a lie, and not for the first time, the 1 on his cheek itches to be sliced off; once he understands what his therapist is saying, a woman who specializes in cult survivors, he chokes

he could’ve been different. it could’ve been different. he had dished out to others what he was trying to outrun. biting the hand that touched him was out of the question, so he turned rabid on those around him, becoming the very thing he himself was afraid of.

failed ravens have a tendency to commit suicide

Unpopular (Unfortunately) take of the morning: If you think Riko deserved the abuse he suffered at Tetsuji's hands, you inadvertedly say Jean deserved the abuse he suffered at Riko's hands.

If you say that in hindsight someone deserved abuse because of how that abuse made them turn out, you are just saying people deserve to be abused

you cannot tell me jeremy wasn’t turned on when jean casually handled both him and the scrimmage

look. does she hate herself for what she is? absolutely. does she doubt herself on her abilities, necromantic or romantic? no. she is simply confident in her ability to pull tail. if she had an ounce of communication skills many situations that happened would have been cleared up, but she doesn't so we have what we have.

harrow definitely thought they were like dating and in love after the pool scene meanwhile gideon is like shit she’s in love with a dead body not me i guess i’ll kill myself (for her)
