Im Honestly On A Fence Whether Masaru And Mitsuki Are As Bad As Endeawhore But Regardless This. This

im honestly on a fence whether masaru and mitsuki are as bad as endeawhore but regardless This. 👀👀👀This is a Good Shit. really interesting concept.

Okay but narcissistic father Masaru anyone???

Everyone thinks it’d be Mitsuki. She’s loud and angry and berates and insults. She’s toxic and unhealthy where Masaru is soft and polite. If there’s anyone with an inflated sense of self, it’s her… well…

——

Masaru knows he’s the glue that holds the family together. When Katsuki and Mitsuki are fighting, he’s sure to tell Katsuki not to disrespect his mother. She’s an adult and he’s a child, he needs to do better.

(It’s different when it comes to him, though. He’s on the same standing as Mitsuki…

…No, actually, he’s better.

When they fight, he’s not insulting her like she does to him and Katsuki, he’s telling her the truth. When she’s gone, he’s not bad talking her to Katsuki, he’s just talking about his experiences, letting Katsuki know that even though she’s terrible, he’s still with her. Even though she doesn’t deserve Masaru’s respect, he loves her and will give it to her when they’re getting along.)

When Katsuki shouts back as she puts him down, it hurts Masaru’s heart. He’s disappointed in his son for going against what he’s told.

Sure, Mitsuki is never right when it comes to what she says to/about Masaru, and sure, she has no right to complain and lie about him to her parents and siblings and attempt to ruin his reputation, but she’s still Katsuki’s mother, and she deserves Katsuki’s respect.

Goodness, this family will be the death of him… his wife is lucky he’s willing to stay for the kid. Katsuki is lucky to have a dad that loves him despite his flaws.

——

During summer, Masaru goes away on a business trip and makes sure to call everyday.

Katsuki recounts the latest argument, and he makes sure to scold Katsuki for talking back while telling him that his mother isn’t to be trusted; stay on your toes, she’s lying about me, don’t try to tell her she’s wrong when she calls you these things, that’s disrespectful.

His lessons are valuable, and he hopes Katsuki learns.

——

School starts back and it’s harder than ever. Masaru leaves again and calls multiple times a day to make sure Katsuki’s on top of his work.

He’s using his time to help Katsuki, so why in the world would Katsuki complain?

Asking him not to call as often? Asking for praise for what was done instead of keeping his mind on what he still has left to do? Masaru is helping him, and his son wants to criticize him?

Well, Masaru guesses Katsuki’s on his own now. He won’t call again. If Katsuki wants his attention, he’ll make the first step.

——

Goodness, this family is so ungrateful. They should be lucky he’s here, willing to put up with them.

So, like, this was just a thought dump that’s not really cohesive, but like???? Love that idea actually. Mitsuki is toxic in a way that’s so out there that Masaru seems to think of himself as a savior for staying and not being like her. His toxicity is just more quiet. Idk I just find that those traits would fit him so well. We all hear abt narcissistic mothers but what abt the fathers like this?

This Is Such A Specific Pet Peeve That I Know Is Petty But

This is such a specific pet peeve that I know is petty but

As a linguistics major who is also trilingual and has real life experience code-switching (changing from one language to another) mid-sentence on the daily, one of the BIGGEST bothers to me in fanfics is when it happens unnaturally.

I get that we all think ‘wow, a character suddenly speaking in another language is sexy ;)’ but the truth is, there are natural AND also really awkward and unnatural ways to codeswitch, and unless you have first-hand experience, there is a high risk that your sexy insertion of a foreign word in the middle of a sentence is actually making someone who speaks that language natively cringe just a little bit.

And - I want to make this clear - that’s not your fault! It’s a difficult thing to write well.

But I beg you, if you are using a REAL language in your fanfics (not a made-up conlang), please find a native speaker to check your work, don’t just pick random words and don’t just insert them into the slot where the English word would go.

We really got the worst version of DabiHawks, huh?

If they were both heroes, they would change the world. Keigo is too hopeful and Touya has enough spite for the both of them. They'd work efficiently and systematically to dismantle the current society from the inside out. They'd be the best hopepunk Pro Hero duo ever.

If they were both villains, they would raze society and plant a sapling in its wake. Keigo's desire for a brighter future and Touya's vision of a better future. They would temper each other, mellow each other out, lines in the sand that should not be crossed. Remind each other why they're here at all, and what they were fighting for in the first place. A brighter, better world. Not as means to revenge and not at the expense of the oppressed.

If Dabi was a hero, and Hawks was a villain, they would be fascinated with each other. Dabi, who became a hero out of a spiteful desire to outdo his father, prove himself, and change the system, spitting in the face of bureaucracy and laughing at the rankings, spitfire and steel in his blood, would enrapture Hawks. And when the Commission eventually sends out Hero Dabi to capture an agent gone rogue, Vigilante Hawks would pique Dabi's interest immediately. Targetting abusive fathers and corrupt government officials, tipping off police agencies about shady heroes then finishing the job himself. They'd be a match made in heaven.

Canon DabiHawks is the worst variation.

Hawks' hope is but a flicker. Dabi is steadily being consumed by righteous rage.

Hawks is a tool of the state that created and reinforces the environment where people become like Dabi to survive.

Dabi is vengeance. Hawks is obedience. Dabi believes he is justice. Hawks believes he is safety and security.

They are in direct opposition of one another with no chance of sympathy or commiseration.

Whatever connection Dabi and Hawks could have had is smoldering now.

We really did get the worst DabiHawks.
