I don’t want to be alone!

Waking up early in the morning is not an usual thing for you. There is still a calm atmosphere outside and the sun is yet to rise fully which made your room half dimmed with some early birds chirping which is hardly reaching your eardrums to recognise it as a sound. Oh look, somebody is up! Something might be a very significant reason or might be you waiting eagerly for something which cause you a little sleep. The sleepy eyes remained half shut and your left hand roaming around the bed to find the phone , you still in your foggy head trying to remember where you left it last night.

“Ugh!!!! Where is my baby?” , and you heard a thud sound which completely woke you up and you bend towards your left side to see that your precious thing has fallen down. Oh how bad you want to cry now!

You hurriedly picked it up and started checking it all over.

“ Why???”, whining with a cute pout on your face found a little scratch in the corner of the screen.

”Oh my precious baby ! Have you got hurt , oh no no u got a scratch again . I guess my clumsiness cost a lot to me everytime.” Anyone who would see you in this situation would think a mother caring for her only child but NO. It’s just you , resting a sly smile on your face with your phone in your hand having your little moment ,well why not! when it’s being your every time partner. Now, you completely forgot about the reason you are awake for this little commotion, when it suddenly clicked in your mind that you need to open your notifications to check a particular text.

Searching through the lot of promotions, past missed calls, class timings updates and other texts , finally got that single text you have been searching.

Moon: “MEET ME EXACTLY AT 8 AM AT LOVE CAFE IN FRONT OF YOUR SCHOOL.”

You squealed on reading it and do you know why??? Well last night you were having a great time with one of your fav authors and she suddenly texted you that she would be able to meet you as she is now in your town, Boston. Lastly she also told you to be awake at 5 A.M. to text you the timing. You are so happy to meet your online friend but still having a second thought whether it’s safe for you or not ,but you assured yourself that nothing can happen as there would be a lot of students and parents at that hour and you can even tell the barista beforehand for your safety double-check, you will be safe eventually. Made up your mind, you glanced at the clock and it’s almost 6. You being a lazy girl tried to be ready as soon as possible because it almost takes 30 minutes to reach your school by bus. On half way you doing your hair, the door creaked open to reveal your BEST PERSON , your mom.

“Uh I thought you are still asleep but may I know the reason behind this obedient girl?”, still a bit shock on her face walked towards the edge of your bed to sit on it facing you , who is still busy with herself in the mirror. Finally satisfied with yourself, you turned to face your mom to ask ‘how do I look?’ with a cute grin. “ You always look pretty my baby!!!”, putting a thumbs up to show her double approval. You both laughed at that small gestures and suddenly you spoke which made your mother a bit worry.

“ I’m meeting that cutie online friend who goes by the name moon. I have told you about her before. Remember?”. Yes, you almost tell her everything and she loves to hear your ramblings about them to find out how you love small things about everyone. ‘YOU ARE TOO INNOCENT’. Well not really because sometimes your mother finds out what stories you read the most but she doesn’t a say a word on it. You even told her about your precautions about today to ease her tensed form.

” I know you are old enough to take care of yourself but how can I not worry for you? Your father doesn’t live here much and am always worrying for him and you. Yesterday your grandma told me how the gang activities has increased past few days. And uh-….she- , okay listen she is coming here to live with us because of her degrading health. I know you hate her but please behave in front of her for me!”, she avoided your eyes being well aware of your hatred for forcing your mother to marry your father. But you quickly smiled and hold her hand , ”Mom it’s okay! She is still your mother and my grandma and let’s not be so emotional as you know am only here for 1 year more living with you in your embrace so let’s forget this and oh look am again late for today !”. Your mom laughed seeing you rushing to pack the things in hurry and how most of the things falling down and making it messy behind you in your room which she would assemble back later on out of motherly instinct. She grasped her lavender locket which is shaped in a mini tulip in her hold and closed her eyes, ‘ Keep her safe’ and a gentle smile resting on her face.

You noticed your mother and smiled on her antics , “So who gave you that ? Ah! who else DAD right!?-“ , her ears perked up on hearing it but you didn’t notice it and continuing your words “Ummm well whatever the life might be , I can see you always holding that locket tightly as if it’s more precious to you than me but still I know I am on top of that LOCKET and I know you love dad a lot as well as he.” She gives you a tight smile. Before you step out of the room your mother spoke again, “Your Dad is coming tomorrow!” Your joy increased on hearing this only line and you took a last glance at your mom and she waved you a bit before stepping out of the house in hurry which is A VERY USUAL THING FOR YOU.

You put your ear-pods on and to your luck the bus was already there on the stop and you run towards it.

You made it to your destination at last with a good 30 minutes late. You looked around the cafe but only you could see some students having their breakfast in a small group or with 1 or 2 friends. You made your way towards the barista who was quite busy with the morning rush and yet to see you approaching towards him. “Hello Mark!”, he looked up quickly on hearing the very familiar voice which he haven’t heard for last one week. His eyes lit up on seeing you standing in front of him smiling brightly “Y/N!!! OMG it’s really you and where have you been for last week? Haven’t you attended the classes?”

Mark goes to a separate school but he works in this cafe to earn for his pocket money as he claimed it to you. You both became friends when he saw you often coming to the cafe for a quick takeout as you have to skip breakfast for you being late EVERYDAY.

He stopped on his long interrogation and leaves a sigh. You patted his shoulder and answered the questions including telling why you are here. While you were having your best time, someone yelled beside both of you , you put a hand on your heart and moved a bit to face your cousin ‘Lily’ standing there with a lot of gifts and with an endless excitement on her face. “YOU ! Here?” , you with a confused look still looking at her expecting a good reason but the next words from her made your eyes go round and big, “ Ah yes why will you be excited on my arrival from Korea , you would have been happy to see your so called MOON to see here right now . Okay then speak to my phone here , because the online Moon is loved by my cousin and the offline me not”, rolling her eyes she extended her phone towards you. You without wasting a moment engulfed her in a warm hug. “Silly girl, you should have at least told me earlier MOON that it’s you and am so happy that you finally indulged yourself in what you love but why suddenly this meet up disturbing my beauty sleep?” Releasing the hug , you noticed Mark has long left you two alone and when he found your eyes searching for him, he gave you an assuring smile. “It’s your birthday tomorrow and am here to celebrate your 19th Birthday here with you and I will be living here for quite a long this time as for my oversea projects are scheduled to this branch and am so excited to spend 1 year with you YAy!!!”

Lily is always a hyped up girl and that’s why you like her the most out of all your cousins. Both kinda can match vibes with each other and always have a good time together. She is 5 years older than you but yet you both act like twins. People were still giving both of you looks but both being carefree souls never regarded that as they were busy to catch up with things as much as possible before the school starts.

Meanwhile Mark also served you a little pastry as your birthday gift because next two days will be weekends and it’s not possible to meet him as he always claim ‘IMPORTANT FAMILY ISSUES ON WEEKENDS’. It’s already time to leave her there and go to school where you met your friends and rambled on the exciting events happened before. When you went back home , you were expecting a familiar loud voice filling the entire house but there was this deep laugh you didn’t expect which was nearing you and suddenly you made the eye contact. Tears welled up in your eyes, you run towards him “ I MISSED YOU DAD! It’s been 6 months I last saw you , I thought you won’t be here on my birthday but mom told me you would be there tomorrow and-“ he smiled at you and how you missed those eye smile, ”Hush little birdy, I am here and let’s enjoy the whole night and tomorrow four of us would go out because Lily has already planned so many things. I will try my best to spend this year with you as much as possible.” Nodding you hugged him tight.

These emotions, you never felt before and you know the reason to feel as you will be leaving your home and school which are the only mode of your happiness after 1 year to start your new journey. You are so excited for your university life in a completely different country but you will be all alone there. YOU SCARED TO BE ALONE .KOREA, A place where you went only few times to visit your grandma but never got enough time to know the place. It’s your parent’s hometown where all the story started and now it’s yours to start a new journey.

‘Will I be loved by the people there? Will it be safe for me so that my mom don’t have to worry for me living there alone? Who will protect me there like my mom?”

……..!!!!!!!!………

Somewhere in the middle of the city , music blasting out of the speakers inside the club and dim lights pointing out the glittery highlights on the face of the people dancing to the beat with the friends and strangers. Some passed out for over drinks and some getting all messed in every way possible. A place for affluents to get wasted on opulent stuffs.

A group of young men sitting somewhere in the corner of the luxury venue just discussing about the upcoming meeting and the night mission.

“Why is he taking so long to just have a SMALL CONVO , he usually takes no time to complete these games?”, saying this the speaker again turned back annoyed to his phone screen to read the news headlines ‘THERES A LOT DANGER ROAMING IN THE SHADOWS OF DARK’ under the cut written ‘………The uprising mafia gang is taking over the country and it causing threats to the citizens…..’. A male with a black shaggy hairs which ended in the mid neck with a birth mark beside right eye, was peaking at the screen as well made a “Tsch” sound which causes all attention on him. A sharp featured one with a slick haired and a sharp jawline asked the male, ”What happened good little boy? Why so pissed ? oh! missing him for taking so long?” resting an iconic smirk on his face. The later male just glared in return “I’m not like you, always begging to be in pair with him in every fucking mission and you better don’t call me that, Say my name or don’t even acknowledge me or you will be my next target to execute. That shit might be again busy flirting with girls.”

The leader slammed on the table when he completed reading the news while those two were busy giving each other glares, ”Shut up San and Yeosang! Next time I’m sending you both together on a mission and better do it correctly. Speaking about this news, what do these news channels think of us that we are some smugglers attacking on random citizens! How childish! ,Jongho take back your phone and go see where is-“

the door burst open showing a panting male resting his hand on the nearby wall where light falls on his feature to highlight a perfect mole under his left eye.

“ Hongjoong hyung! It’s DONE, Minhyuk is DEAD, we need to leave asap.” The satisfied leader signalled his members to leave the place which was never needed to repeat twice and they stepped out of the club. “Well done WOO.”

It’s past midnight when a black SUV drove into the darkness of highway leaving behind a haunted scene among the pool of wasted people where only the beats of last song and yellings can only be heard.

(Note: Yes he is Minhyuk from Monsta-X (My poor baby) Sorry for killing him, but uk nobody dies so easily in mafia shits😉)
