After hours of flying on the jet, we finally land in Sokovia. From there multiple of Hydra's soldiers escort me to my new commander, Strucker. On the way to his office, we pass two prison cells that exactly match my old one. I see a boy speedily running around his small cell, unable to stop himself from crashing into the walls. Beside him is a girl, around his age, floating cubes in mid-air and her hands glow red. Before I can investigate any further, I'm guided through a narrow hallway and into Strucker's office. Once I am seated in front of him, all of the soldiers scurry out of the room, leaving us alone.
"Your previous commander gave you your mission, correct?" he asks, his voice as rough as always. He is staring at something on his desk instead of paying attention to me.
"No, he just sent me here for fun." I sarcastically remark, purposefully trying to piss him off.
"Don't play games with me, agent," Strucker growls, his attention now on me.
"You know," I stand from my seat and lean on the front of his desk. "I'm qualified to be your superior. But instead of hiding behind a desk, I choose to get the job done. If I'm going to stay here and train your little experiments, you are going to give me the same degree of respect that I had back home or I leave. Are we clear?" I say. Strucker stands from his desk, clearly irritated. He takes a defensive stance and takes a deep breath in to try to intimidate me. Obviously, he's the one who is intimidated in this situation.
"I don't like your tone, soldier. I suggest you sit back in your seat and shut the f-" Strucker orders but I cut him off in a... different way. I fade through the desk and his body and quickly pull out the knife from my boot with my abilities, retrieving it in my hand. I wrap my arm around his neck, the knife pressed against his throat. This silences him before he can utter another word.
"Now this can go one of two ways. I can slit your throat and I will get away scot-free. Or, you can shut your mouth and give me the respect I deserve." I whisper into his ear. The man begins to shake a little but stands firm.
"I don't respect someone out of fear." Strucker spits back, his voice wavering the tiniest bit. I strengthen my grip on him as I begin to crush his esophagus with the side of my forearm.
"I've been loyal to Hydra all of my life and I am not exaggerating. I'm their strongest agent. I think that deserves a little respect. " I spit at him, pressing the knife a little more into his throat. Strucker begins to wheeze so he taps my arm in submission and I let go. He sits back at his desk, his face pale from lack of oxygen and I sit across from him. I silently slip the knife back into my boot and reload it in case I have another "incident".
"The guards will lead you to your new sleeping quarters. From there you will have time to unpack and then you will meet the Maximoff twins."
"Yes, sir," I reply, sarcasm laced in my tone, before standing up. The guards follow Strucker's orders, leading me to my new home.
________________
After I was settled in my room, the guards lead me to their training room where the Maximoffs were waiting. I was dressed in a sports bra and tight knee-high pants, my hands wrapped in protective bandages. I am pushed into a moldy smelling gym, no equipment in sight, only two frightened teenagers.
"They're all yours." A guard says and I nod in acknowledgement. Once they leave, the two siblings just stare at me in confusion. The awkward silence fills the room until the girl in the corner of the room speaks.
"How do they expect someone so young to train us?" she says, her Sokovian accent thick. The boy zooms over and stares condescendingly while circling me like a shark. I glare back at him, my stance unyielding.
"I bet you she doesn't even have powers." he snarkily remarks to his sister. I shake my head and cross my arms, effortlessly becoming intangible.
"Then punch me." I spit back.
"What?" the boy says, confusion thick in his accent.
"If you’re confident, then punch me," I reply. The boy still looks confused but listens to my order, pulling his fist back. He swings and his fist phases right through me. I take the opportunity to fade right through him and take my stance from behind. Once I become solid again, I push him against the wall using my abilities. After a quick chuckle, I let him go momentarily. He then turns to try and fight me again. I shake my head and turn off the gravity in the room for him, leaving the girl and I glued to the floor. Once I drop the boy, he looks at me in awe and fear.
"So, you think I still don't have powers?" I ask after crouching to his level. He shakes his head rapidly and I offer him my hand. He looks at me like I'm the craziest person on earth before gratefully taking it. I lift him back up with me and our eyes meet.
"What's your name?" he asks. I look at him as if he's crazy. You don't ask a superior their name unless you want a hand to the face. But they have only been here a few years, they still don't know our rules.
"Erin, but outside of this area, you will call me Commander. Another word of advice, don't ask any of your superiors for their name. That will only earn you a hand to the face."
"Thanks for the advice." the boy mumbles as he looks downwards while rubbing the base of his head.
"I take it you have already made that mistake," I conclude and he nods.
"My name is Pietro and my sister is Wanda," Pietro says as he points to his sibling. She is still in the corner, staring at her hands as if she doesn't know what to do with them. I walk over to her and hold out my hands for her to take. Wanda looks at them skeptically before taking them and lifting herself up.
"If you are going to survive here, you can't have any space for weakness. I was sent here to train you but I'm not going to do that. I'm going to teach you how to survive."
"But how do we do that if we don't have any control of our powers? It's impossible." Wanda says, the idea of training causing her to panic. Her hands begin to glow and she stares at them in fear.
"That. Right there. You can't be afraid of your powers. You need to become one with them. Focus on that power and then channel it." I say. Wanda's attention slowly turns to me as she shakes. She pushes her hands outwards and timidly lifts me from my standing place. Wanda then freaks out and drops me but I land on my feet, my left hand in front of me.
"How... how is it possible?" Wanda asks, referring to her powers. I stand back up and take her hands once again.
"When you can do the things I can do, nothing is impossible."

LTI Chapter 4: All Cards On The Table

Masterlist
Summary: The famous duo Eraserhead and Illusionaire return!
Pairing: Shouta Aizawa (Eraserhead) x Fem!Reader (Illusionaire)
Quirk: Telepathic Illusions, Memory and Conscious Manipulation
A/N: I actually really like this chapter, it's the first time I've been somewhat happy with a fight scene. Enjoy!
"Illusionaire! Catch!"
Turning around, you see Aizawa tossing the beast that was a Nomu straight towards you using his capture weapon, his hair flying all over the place and eyes so red they looked like they could be bleeding.
Bracing yourself against the rubble behind you, you swing your arm around just in time for your katana to cleanly slice through the nomu's arm. As blood sprayed faster than a fountain all over the place, the monster retaliates, swinging its other arm straight towards you. Bouncing off your heels, you back flip behind the rubble just in time to watch it get smashed to pieces.
The fist comes for it's second swing, straight down onto your head as the other one regrows out of the corner of your eye. Creating an x brace with your blades, you grit your teeth and prepare for the smack down, only for familiar white strips to appear, wrapping around the monster's arm at the last possible moment.
"Nice try..." you hear a mumble from behind the beast.
Quickly you twirl your katanas to face outwards on either side of your arm before sliding underneath its legs and cutting inches of muscle into pieces. A screech mixed with a roar echoes off of brick and mortar as you spin onto your knee and stand once again. Flipping your katanas once more, you sheath them into their place on your back.
"Just keep him still for me! I'll take care of the rest!" you yell to Aizawa as you pull a small hand blade out from a hidden pocket on your side.
You back up with haste until one of your calves comes into contact with another piece of concrete. Charting your path is simple and soon enough, your feet are moving without thought. Just at the right moment, you propel yourself onto the beast with the help of another chunk of stone, securing yourself on its back with your blade.
As more screams from the nomu and from Shouta echo around you, you swing upwards with what little momentum you had left. With ease, you wrap your legs around the neck of the beast and begin to cut off its oxygen to the brain. Gripping onto its head tightly, you feel your eyes flutter closed as you put all your power into turning its brain into mush.
But Aizawa can hold on no longer.
Soon you feel your balance begin to waver, the nomu wandering around roaring in frustration as it tries to pry you off. With strong hands and sharp nails, it pries at your back, arms, and legs. But you work through the pain, eventually letting out a battle cry as you release all of your power into its brain.
With a large thud, you fall to the ground, creating plums of dust that stick to your bloody skin. As your eyes open, you see the defeated nomu beneath you, no life left in its eyes...well whatever life was actually left in it.
"Illusionaire!" a voice calls through the dust.
With a cough you stand, shakily you must admit, but standing nonetheless. A calloused hand suddenly touches one of your wounds, making you hiss and pull away with a turn, fists up at the ready. Your eyes meet yellow goggles making you drop one fist while the other weakly punches Shouta's chest.
"You good?" you ask as you slowly remove your hood.
"Yeah, I'm fine. But you're not."
"Eraserhead-"
"Illusionaire, you’re bleeding from your eyes..."
With a sigh, you wipe away what blood hadn't already dried and caked on with the dust.
"It happens when I overuse my powers. But I'm fine..."
"At least let me take care of those scratches. I know how much you hate hospitals. "
You think it over but as the pain sets in, your doubts are cleared away.
"Damn right I do. I'll come with you."
After a long ordeal with the cops, you and Aizawa retire to his apartment. It was small, clean, quaint, nothing less than what you had expected.
But as you stare in his immaculate mirror, your worries resurface.
What if your brother was right?
What if you and Aizawa were each other's death sentences?
What the hell were you even doing here?
With a sigh, you knew that no matter what, your stories would end in heartbreak.
You didn't notice that you had been washing the dirt and muck of the fight off of you for the past hour and a half. It wasn't until there was a knock on the door that your brain came back to reality.
"You didn't pass out in there did you?"
A soft chuckle reverberates from your chest as you gently wipe away the water from your face. You quietly unlock the door after hanging up the simple face cloth. Shouta looks down at you, his eyes now revealed since his hair was tucked into a ponytail, a soft emotion filling them. Slowly, carefully, you see his hand make its way upwards, his calloused hands coming into contact with your cheek as he caresses it.
What you didn't know was that at that moment, Aizawa knew he could never let you go again.
What he didn't know was that at that moment your heart didn't care if you were each other's death sentences, you needed him in your life again.
Leading your head towards his with the hand on your cheek, your opposite wraps around his neck slowly, taking the time to gently tug on the hair by his neck. His lips meet yours for the first time in decades, like an antidote to the virus that plagued you of his absence. It was soft, unsure, just like both of you were. But once you pulled away and saw the same look in each other's eyes, you knew that no future could change things now. Quickly, you kiss again, this time with a little more urgency, a little more passion. His other hand wraps around your back gingerly, pulling you close to him as you find yourself pinned to a wall. With a soft bite to his bottom lip, you move your other hand up his chest only for it to halt in its tracks.
"Daddy, what are you and (Y/N)-chan doing?"
You both stand in stunned silence, still wrapped in each other's arms. Aizawa eventually speaks up as he pulls away from you.
"Well, when two people love each other there are certain things you do together," he explains as he crouches down to Eri's level.
"So you and (Y/N)-chan love each other?" she asks innocently.
Without hesitation, you grasp onto Shouta's shoulder gently and answer.
"More than you know,"
You feel his once tense shoulder slowly relax under your touch. With a soft squeeze, you look at him.
"You can put her to sleep. I'll get the bed ready if you'll have me?"
Shouta stands and pulls you close to his side, gently laying a kiss to the side of your head before mumbling:
"Always,"
A soft smile breaks up your face as you gently pull away and retire to Shouta's bedroom. You catch a look at your back in the mirror, the gauze painted with bright red stains. Those weren't going to scar well.
Slowly, you pull on one of Shouta's shirts, his scent enveloping you, calming you. You meticulously take down the bed, making sure everything was in its place in the way you remember he likes. Once everything was set, you slip into the cozy sheets and sigh contentedly.
After a while, you feel a body join from behind you, an arm wrapping around your waist before gently bracing your back against a warm chest.
A tired smile comes across your face as your free hand reaches down and gently squeezes the one on your waist. Eventually, your fingers lace together, holding on like either one might disappear if you let go too soon.
"Be honest with me," you hear Aizawa mumble. "all cards on the table."
"Yeah?" you whisper.
"Are you willing to risk your life...just for me?"
In a heartbeat, you reply.
"Yes. I always did, I always will."
