but

i had assumed it was like other marvel stuff, where falcon is a shield agent, and that “on your left” came out of some kind of shield exercise thing

BUT NO

IT WAS LITERALLY JUST STEVE ROGERS FUCKING WITH A STRANGER

HE JUST THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FUNNY TO FUCK WITH A DUDE HE DIDN’T EVEN KNOW

HOW OFTEN DOES HE DO THAT

is steve rogers just fucking with people constantly bill murray style

does he steal french fries from strangers and tell them no one will ever believe them

does he lift cars when only small children are looking

did steve realize that captain america had a bizarrely wholesome reputation and use it as a way to prank people blamelessly

Bucky Barnes sees a fucking raccoon firing a machine gun while cackling like a maniac and instead of losing his shit he just shrugs, picks it up and spins it around Mary Poppins style

I know Steve is really talented with his shield and is like an expert with it 

but just imagine him smacking it in his face 

or tripping over it

or waking up in the middle of the night and he shuffles off to the bathroom only to step on the edge of the shield and it smacks him in the shin and he curses loudly enough to wake up the other Howling Commandos who just sit up and start laughing at the way Steve is holding onto his leg and swearing 

How the Winter Soldier shot Nick Fury

I’ve been wanting to make a post about this for a while, even though I might be the only person invested in this, but anyway, here we go. I’ve seen mentioned several times, in posts about the movie and in fics that the Winter Soldier shot Nick Fury through the window of Steve’s apartment, and every time it makes me groan in frustration because no.

The Winter Soldier didn’t shoot Fury through a window, he shot him through a wall, and I don’t know about you, but it seems like a pretty big difference to me.

When I saw the scene the first time, I remember thinking holy shit??? that’s crazy, and for me that’s when the Winter Soldier really became a real, terrifyingly good assassin, that’s when his image as a serious threat solidified.
