i'm making this post just to make my followers aware that Tumblr is having a deal with selling user data to AI companies. as an avid AI Hater™ i'm incredibly against this decision as i think scraping people's data and using it to train models without them knowing is unethical. here's what to do if you don't want your blog to be a part of this:

go to your Blog Settings. on desktop, click your blog button and then click the 'Blog Settings' button on the right sidebar. on mobile, click the three bars in the top left, scroll to your blog button, open the menu underneath and click 'Blog Settings'.

scroll down to where it says "Prevent third-party sharing for [blog name]" and click the button next to it.

as an extra precaution i'm also discouraged searching for my blog from sites like Google and Yahoo as well. i hate the integration of AI into social media and i hope this AI integration trend burns and explodes into a million pieces.

i'll gradually be embedding my tumblr posts on there in chronological order, so you can still see them there if i ever decide to abandon this blog!!! i honestly am starting to fall out of love with tumblr a bit due to their recent changes and actions, so i might move over to a place where i feel like i can actually shitpost into the void and not worry about a thing. it's a pretty cool site and i think a lot of you will like it there. unfortunately you can't make a custom theme for your page (which i'm personally kinda sad about), but the website itself seems really promising!!!

ok so um. i found this really cool brush on ibispaint and decided to do a couple of paintovers of Data and i think they turned out pretty neat :)

this one was done a couple days ago with a limited colour palette of around 6-7 colours (minus the highlighting on his eyes) and was the first one i did. it's painted over this image:

now i absolutely hate doing traditional painting most of the time (it's mostly running out of materials, varying quality of materials, the expenses, stupid thin paints i hate thin paints grrrr) but digital painting? that shit goes hard and i love painting my little monochromatic datas :)

hey just a reminder because i keep seeing this garbage pile up in the lgbtq+ community: people are not inherently bad for being a man and being masc. it is not a bad thing to identify as a guy and do masculine stuff and present yourself in a masc way. the view that being a man somehow makes you bad/abusive/creepy/bigoted hurts so many men in our community (gay men, trans men, literally everyone actually) and it's just a ridiculous statement in itself. gender does not equal morality, belief or action. people are not predisposed to badness because of their gender. that is a silly idea and i thought we as a community progressed past this but apparently not.
