i was watching the 'Happy Birthday Garfield!' special and these clips of these old Garfield and Odie costumes are so funny they oughta be memes

i love the classic early 80s style these costumes use, they're very unique! to my knowledge this is the only time we've really seen these costumes used (unless there was something else i don't know about), and i really wonder where these things are today! are they in a warehouse somewhere or were they auctioned off? i need to know.......

(also Jim Davis celebrating his own character's birthday is one of the sweetest things ever)

this is from an Australian video game magazine called K-Zone, and as a promotion for the Garfield movie, they did a spot on the Garfield timeline all the way from 1976 to today and mentioned an upcoming video game for the movie that's apparently gonna be releasing soon!! now they don't cover every major Garfield milestone here (they don't even mention Gnorm Gnat, which is a little bit odd buuuut it is focused on Garfield so...), but they do mention some notable Garfield games like Garfield Kart and Lasagna Party, which i think is pretty cool. this is, like, the third official acknowledgement i've seen of 'Jon' and it makes me really appreciate the fact that it was found after so many years. Quinton Reviews going out of his way to scan these list comic strips resulted in it being acknowledged in a magazine in my country is incredible :)

after doing a few more drawings i think i've gotten a bit of a hang of making sploon art :)

did a little art style colour test with some neat Splatoon brushes i found on ibispaint :D
