I'm thinking about making myself a rise OC, and at first I was going to base them off of a stick insect (for obvious reasons), but there isn't a whole lot to work with there!

I'm thinking that I might use a leaf insect as inspiration instead, since they have more characteristics to work with

(I'm leaning towards spiny leaf insect, since they look ✨so fucking cool✨)

(don't Google them if you have a fear of insects!!! They are not cutesy little leafy-green friends!!! They look like an unholy combination between a lobster and a scorpion, with the head of an ant!!! And they are fucking massive!!!! And spiky!!!! And limb-y!!!!!)

Edit: I have just discovered goliath stick insects, and I think it's safe to say that I'm legally required to choose these absolute units as my inspiration

We've got a rough concept sketch for the bug boi!!

I'm really liking how this guy is turning out so far, the more insect-like limbs were such a good idea!

I like how they start out more human, and then morph into something more akin to those of a stick insect :]

I also think his height is a really fun detail, my inspiration behind his design is the goliath stick insect, so I immediately knew he had to be an absolute giant lmao

His four arms are definetly gonna be a blast to play around with as well, I can't wait to try different poses once his design is finished ^-^

I have no idea what his name will be, but I'm thinking about taking inspiration from the latin name of his inspiration: Eurycnema goliath, or Clemacantha goliath which is also accepted

If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them! ^-^
