We've got a rough concept sketch for the bug boi!!

I'm really liking how this guy is turning out so far, the more insect-like limbs were such a good idea!

I like how they start out more human, and then morph into something more akin to those of a stick insect :]

I also think his height is a really fun detail, my inspiration behind his design is the goliath stick insect, so I immediately knew he had to be an absolute giant lmao

His four arms are definetly gonna be a blast to play around with as well, I can't wait to try different poses once his design is finished ^-^

I have no idea what his name will be, but I'm thinking about taking inspiration from the latin name of his inspiration: Eurycnema goliath, or Clemacantha goliath which is also accepted

If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them! ^-^

Here's a sneak-peek at an art request I'm working on right now :D

(It's really zoomed in, I promise that the line-art actually is way smoother than this TTvTT)

The final product is probably gonna look pretty different, I'm 100% gonna discover a bunch of things that bug me and then spend hours on adjusting each one bahahaha

But I find that process really meditative, so I'm not mad about it ^-^

We've finally got some blocky colours and shading down! :D

(Yes, I'm using the fact that stickbugs can reproduce asexually as an excuse to not draw any clothes. What are you, the OC police?? 🤨 the guy's got nothing to cover up!)

I've decided to actually try to turn this into a decent illustration, and I'm 100% going to regret this decision later when I'm struggling with the background lmfao

That mess of lines in one of his hands(?) is going to be some kind of drink, I made it tiny on purpose since he's a damn tree of a dude

I'm forcing myself to let the line-art be a little messy, since I want to get out of the mindset that my art has to have perfectly crisp lines in order to be posted :]

(I grew up with a lot of old churches around me throughout the years, and they all had some variation of a rock wall around them, so I've decided to include one in this picture for the sake of nostalgia ^-^)
