Awww congrats on 200 followers lovely!!! You deserve it, I always find myself rereading your works! So I went to the first section Andromeda, saw prompt #1 “Pull over. Let me drive for awhile.” and thought YES that’s an Emily prompt right there 🤣 I feel like Emily being able to immediately sense reader’s feelings would be super sweet. Like maybe it was rough case/day for reader, Emily steps up, and then starts rambling trying to distract reader so they’re both just laughing and even more in love by the end? Will also read whatever you want to write 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Tysm lovely!!! It amazes me that you reread my fics, I'm so happy you like them🥹!! I changed a tiny bit of this at the end, hope you don't mind <3

Awww Congrats On 200 Followers Lovely!!! You Deserve It, I Always Find Myself Rereading Your Works! So

You’re upset. It’s not hard to see—shoulders rising to your ears, your jaw set, the skin pulled tight over your knuckles as you grip the steering wheel. Add to the lack of your usual easy chatter and Emily’s worried, absently picking at the loose skin around her nail as she tries not to make it too obvious she’s staring.

The case was hard on you. The two of you shared a room this time, so she was more in tune with you than she normally is. She heard the sounds of distress you let out in your sleep almost every night, the way you’d toss and turn on the bed for hours after. Emily didn’t say anything, held back her urge to talk to you about it, but she noticed the restless frustration building in you, the way you poured yourself into the case.

It ended badly, and you’ve been quiet ever since.

She hadn’t argued when you grabbed the car keys, figuring you’d appreciate the small modicum of control, but it’s been almost half an hour and she’s grown uneasy from your still-tight grip on the wheel. Her eyes flick to your face just in time to see the tick in your clenched jaw.

Before Emily can think about it, the words are out of her mouth. “Pull over,” she says softly, breaking the stillness. “Let me drive for a while.”

You give no indication that you heard her; silence makes her words hang in the air, unanswered. Her worry increases when you don’t protest, simply pulling over and unbuckling your seatbelt.

Emily gets out of the car and makes her way to the driver’s seat just as you’re getting out. She knows her gaze must be hot on your cheeks, but you don’t look at her. Instead, your gaze tips up, and she follows it.

The one road leading out of town is dark. Apart from the headlights of the car and a few spare street lamps, it’s swathed almost entirely in darkness, and the sky above you is lit up with stars.

“Pretty, aren’t they?” Emily murmurs, desperately trying to draw an answer from your lips.

You hum noncommittally and move past her to get back in the car.

Helplessness crawls up Emily’s throat and settles there like a hard lump. She swallows tightly and gets into the car, briefly unmoored at her reaction to your reaction, unsure why it is that she so desperately wants you to be okay.

The silence is back as she drives off. From the corner of her eye, she sees you rest your head on the window and cross your arms, turning away.

Emily is an expert on body language—she has to be—but this time, she can’t sit and watch you drift away from her, further into your mind.

“Did you recognize any constellations out there?” She blurts out, then winces at the stupid question.

You’re slow to respond.

“Think I saw…what was that famous one called? The hunter?”

Relief floods Emily’s veins. “Yeah, Orion.” She nods, turning to get a glimpse of you. Your head is still on the window, but your body is tilted toward hers. Her next breath comes a little easier. “It’s arguably the most recognizable constellation in the Milky Way. It lies on the celestial equator, so it’s visible from both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.”

“Okay, Reid,” you retort, but the gentleness to your voice tells her you don’t mean any malice. Emily turns and finds a small quirk to your lips; she bites back a smile of her own.

“Yeah, I was a big geek about the stars,” she whispers. Still am. Emily clears her throat. “When I was younger, I used to spend summers in a cabin up in the Alps with my grandfather. He had these huge books about stars and constellations.” You’re quiet next to her, but she sees the way you perk up and shift closer. She never shares her past—or any aspect of her life, really—with anyone, but it’s you, and if it makes you feel even a little bit better, she’ll spell out her whole life’s story for you to hear.

“The sky was so clear there, it’s insane. I used to draw constellations on the back of my hand and try to search for them in the sky; I spent hours looking up until Grandad called me back. And for each one I’d found, he’d tell me a story.” A wistful smile pulls at her lips. When Emily turns and finds you staring with your head cushioned on your arm, her smile widens.

“Do you want to hear the story of Orion?” She asks softly.

She hears the low whoosh of air as you breathe in, then nod once. “Yeah,” you give her a small smile and warmth spreads all over her body, “I would.”

You’re asleep by the end of it, exhaustion claiming your body, but somehow, at some point, your pinky linked with hers. Both your hands rest on the console now, and Emily looks away from the empty road ahead of her. Your lashes rest on your cheeks, the tense lines of your face relaxing in sleep, and she squeezes your pinky before turning back to the road, her heart somewhat lighter.

i'm so fucking happy to find that i'm not the only one having MAJOR feelings about kate rn ahaha.

if you're accepting prompts- one where the reader gets left with the doctor during empire of death and has to deal with listening to kate die over the comm, then what happens when it all gets fixed.

Well, this made me have major feels. I hope it does the same for you.

Your arms were around the Doctor’s waist, barely managing to stay on the back of Mel’s scooter, heart in your throat as you listened to Kate on the other end of the comms. You couldn’t get enough air into your lungs. The Doctor’s shout should have been loud and yet it was like he was at the other end of a long tunnel, Kate’s voice the only thing that was clear.

“Birds will sing again. There will be birds,” she said.

And then there was nothing but silence.

You waited, on and on for one more word but none came. A broken sob passed your lips, the rest of the world falling away as a deep dark well opened up inside of you. Kate had always been such a pillar, you’d never considered she might one day fall. A meaningless future stretched out in front of you. There was no point without her.

You’d never even gotten the chance to tell her how you felt.

You stumbled through the rest of the day, just barely managing to get from moment to moment. You couldn’t focus on her, couldn’t let the darkness creep in. You had to focus on the next step, always the next step forward, not the what ifs or could have beens.

When you arrived back at UNIT HQ she was there, in front of you, like she’d never left. You couldn’t take your eyes off her, the rest fading away when she was right there in front of you. Alive. Perfectly fine.

So you did the reasonable thing and stood on the absolute opposite side of the room from her and watched her with a keen eye to make sure nothing happened to her again.

When the Doctor and Ruby left to find her mother you stayed back. You were happy for her, of course you were, but that deep sense of something going wrong the moment you took your eyes off Kate was still there. So you remained, on the outskirts as they got on with it, cleaning up from the whole day.

Mostly, you just stayed out of the way.

Occasionally her eyes would catch yours across the room. She’d smile and quirk an eyebrow and you would just shake your head. You weren’t going to get into it with an audience around. Certainly not when she had better things to get on with than settling your emotions.

Once the sun had set and the moon was high in the sky, most of the screens off, everyone else having left for the night, just her desk light casting a warm circle of light around her, you let yourself draw closer into her orbit. She looked up, over the top of her glasses, watching you wander towards her. You pushed up onto the desk in front of hers, feet swinging.

“Are you finally going to tell me what’s on your mind?” she asked.

“I don’t want to interrupt when you’re busy,” you said.

“You’ve been hanging around all day. I know it’s not the brilliant atmosphere that’s kept you here so long. So out with it,” she said.

“I heard you die,” you said, heels kicking the desk.

“Ah,” she said, leaning back in her chair.

She took her glasses off, laying them on the desk in front of her. You liked being outside the circle of light, sitting in the shadows. You hoped she couldn’t see the expression on your face, darkness giving you a modicum of safety.

“You were on the comms with us and I heard you. Sutekh turned you to dust and there was just this silence left. It was…” You didn’t have words for it.

“I’m sure that wasn’t easy for you,” she said.

“I know I should have cared about the entire universe dying but… all I could think about was that silence,” you said, not able to look at her.

Soft footsteps were your answer. Fingers gently tipped your chin up until you were looking into her eyes. You couldn’t read the expression on her face, but it made your heart ache with something unnamed.

“I barely remember it,” she said, her voice not above a whisper.

“But I do,” you said, “I can still hear it.”

“Hear what?” she asked.

“The silence.”

She didn’t seem to quite understand how it rang in your head, the absence of her voice. It was like a physical thing, an oil slick on your skin, sinking in until the toxicity of it was embedded deep within you.

So you did the only thing you could to try and fix it.

Your fingertips travelled over her cheeks, mapping her skin, every line of it. She froze, holding still as you explored, feeling her alive under your fingers. Her breath came in a gasp when you traced her lips. You could feel her watching but you were following your path, pausing when you reached her pulse point in her neck. You let your fingers rest there, the beat of her heart strong under your touch. Dragging your eyes back to hers, you shivered from how close she was.

Your hand curled around the back of her neck and you dragged her in, your lips crashing against hers. She made a surprised sound but then her hands were on your hips and she was stepping between your legs as she kissed you with a hunger you hadn’t been expecting. Your fingers slipped into her hair, cradling the back of her head, pressing her closer, entrapping her between your legs, curling them around her.

Her arms slipped around you, tugging you to the edge of the desk, her body brushing yours. The desperation that coursed through your veins made you kiss her deeper, your tongue licking into her mouth, tasting her. If she filled every sense, perhaps then you could stop lingering on the silence.

You whimpered when she drew away, trying to draw her back in. Her hands on your shoulders, she kept you back, looking at you with those eyes that saw more than you wanted. She sighed, her forehead falling against yours.

“I don’t want you to die,” you whispered.

“I’m not much of a fan of the idea either,” she said.

“I also don’t want you to die without knowing how I feel about you,” you said.

“How do you feel about me?” she asked.

“You’re… I…” You tried to find the words, “I’ve fallen for you. Hard. And losing you without ever having the chance to tell you was… I… Sorry.”

“Why are you apologising?” she asked.

“Because I’m doing this so badly.”

She chuckled, pushing your hair away from your face as she drew back, cupping your cheeks until you couldn’t move.

“You’re doing brilliantly,” she said.

“Liar,” you said.

“I’m finding it rather charming,” she said, giving you one of those soft smiles she used when charmed, usually by the Doctor.

“Charming enough to go out on a date with me?” you asked.

“Given I find myself rather enchanted by you, it would be foolish to say no,” she replied, “I was never sure if it was something you wanted.”

“Kate,” you sighed, “I’ve been falling for you since the first moment we met.”

“You never said anything,” she said.

“Because I thought there was no way you could possibly be interested in me,” you said.

“I’m not sure you see yourself very clearly, darling,” she said, the pet name going through you like lightning, “you’re wonderful.”

A smile took over your face, bright and light, the silence finally beginning to recede. She lent forward, capturing your lips in another searing kiss. You whimpered into her mouth, shifting closer, your hands pressing into the small of her back to draw her closer.

“Please don’t die,” you whispered when she drew away, burying your face in her shoulder.

“I’ll do my best,” she said, lips brushing against your forehead.

It would have to be enough for now.

"you should think about the consequence of your magnetic field being a little too strong"

Emily rushed down the street, only slowing down when she reached the door of the all too familiar coffee shop. If there was one thing she wasn't eager about was the scowl she would receive from Hotch if she was late for work. Not really looking up when she approached the line of one person ahead of her, focusing on finding her wallet inside her bag.

But as her eyes looked ahead, she felt her breath get caught in her throat, her hearth suddenly beating faster than usual. Usually they would have been met with Grace, the old lady that owned the shop. But this time she was surprised with a new face. A polite smile was plastered on you lips, your hair pulled back by an hair clip, an apron covering your black long sleeve, the gold earrings making you look even more mesmerizing. She didn't even know your name, but there was something about you that made her feel somehow pulled towards you, like you were a magnetic field and she was metal.

"Miss? Are you alright?" Emily hadn't realized she has lost track of her surroundings before your voice sent her back to earth. Ugh- your voice. It was probably the most beautiful sound she had ever heard. Your eyebrows were raised, as if urging her to make her order, the smile never leaving your lips.

"Oh- yeah. Goodmorning, i'd like uh- a black coffee to take, please." She found herself stumbling on her own words, cheeks burning with embarrassment. Handing you the money in her hand, her blush depended as your fingers brushed slightly against hers.

"Alright, i'll be right on it." You said, turning around and working on getting the coffee ready.

Emily found herself fiddling with her fingers as she waited, she wasn't one to get shy or nervous when it came to this type of situation, but it had caught her completely off guard. After all, a pretty girl is a pretty girl.

"There you go...?" You handed her the coffee, waiting for her to reveal her name.

"Emily. Emily Prentiss." She smiled gently, fingers brushing yours once more as she grabbed the coffee from your hands, not really sure if the warmth came from the cup or your gentle hands.

"Emily Prentiss." You repeated, your voice confident as you continued. "Well, see you around... i hope?"

"Yeah, i'm a usual." She replied, slowly walking towards the exit as she realized she was definitely going to be late now, but not really wanting to leave just now.

"I'm glad." You observed, your eyes never leaving hers as Emily left the store.

She rushed to her car, not being able to hold the smile that was threatening to form on her lips. She now had another reason to call that coffee shop her favorite, and she found herself wishing the time would rush to the next morning so she could go back to looking into your eyes and see your sweet smile once more.

"you're so gorgeous, i can't say anything to your face"

Your expression turned confused as Emily walked through the door of the coffee shop, what appeared to be a cut on the right side of her forehead, you couldn't really tell from the patch that covered most of it.

It wasn't unusual for her to pay a visit to the shop, she had been a client there since your first day of work - which was at least a few months ago by now. Every morning she would walk through the door, ordering her usual black coffee. Truth is you would always look forward for that, throwing a compliment about her outfit or hair. Unfortunately, she always seemed to dismiss it with a shy smile, followed by an awkward chuckle. You would always try to hide the disappointment you felt, really hoping you still had a chance with someone like her. Someone so pretty and nice.

You didn't know as much about her as you wish you did, sometimes she wouldn't show up for days, so you imagined she had a pretty busy life. But you never had the courage to ask, afraid to overstep. After all you were just a random girl who worked at the coffee shop she was a usual at.

But this time it was different, outside the sky was already covered in darkness, streets illuminated by yellow lights. You were getting ready to close off before she walked in.

"Emily? Are you okay?" It was a silly question if you were being honest, she seemed tired and you couldn't help but stare at the patch on her forehead. She was obviously not okay, idiot.

"Yeah, don't worry about me. Just had quite a day at work, didn't feel like going back home just yet." She looked around, her eyes widening when she notice the floor had been cleaned just now, feeling suddenly embarrassed for not noticing the 'closed' sign on the door. "Oh god- i'm so sorry. I didn't realize you were closed, i'll just come by another time-"

"Hey, don't worry. Have a seat." You gestured to the table by the large window, quickly fetching the last muffin before sitting in front of her, handing it to her.

"Thank you." She said quietly, a soft smile taking her features - but it didn't reach her eyes quite yet.

"So- what kind of job gives you a little battle scar like that and is still considered only 'quite a day'?" You teased, not really expecting much of an answer, she never seemed to be the one to talk much. But you really desperately wanted to make her give you one of those smiles of hers - a genuine smile.

"Does working for the FBI justify it?" It was now your turn to widen your eyes, surprise taking over your features. She chuckled at that before nibbling on the muffin.

"Well that was definitely unexpected." You said, your eyebrows raised but the smile never leaving your lips - the look you had given her the first time you met. "Does that mean i should start calling you agent Prentiss?" You questioned, the confident tone finding it's way back into your voice. You leaned your chin against the palm of your hand, gazing at her gently.

"That won't be necessary." Emily laughed, the not so happy thoughts clouding her mind evaporating as she relished in the way you looked at her. "I'm sorry again for showing up so late."

"It's no problem. I'll tell you what, every time you have one of those days you can stop by." You reached for her hand, gently rubbing her knuckles, unaware of the butterflies caused by it on her stomach. "Besides, i don't mind giving out muffins for free to pretty girls. Not at all." You humoured, trying to hide the nervousness you felt just by touching her hand. Smiling triumphally when her cheeks turned pink.

Her words caught in her throat as she tried to think of a possible answer to that. Deciding to stick to a comfortable silence, as there were about zero chances she could actually say anything back - not when the face that she considered to be the definition of gorgeous was so close to hers.

·˚ ༘₊·꒰➳: ̗̀➛

"if you got a girlfriend, i'm jealous of her. but if you're single, that's honestly worse"

Emily pulled her coat tighter around her frame, it was a particular cold night. It had became an habit to visit you at night once a week, not necessarily after a bad day, just to enjoy your company.

But when she was finally standing outside the cosy coffee shop, she felt her stomach drop, a knot forming in her throat. Peering through the large window, she watched as you talked to a man who appeared to be only a few years older than you. You had a bright smile on your face, your expression showing nothing but happiness.

She had the urge to stop whatever was happening, but what excuse did she have to do that? There was nothing going on between you and her, for all she knew you probably only saw her as a good friend. Besides, you were just talking to him it's not like anything was happening. What really made her stomach turn with jealously was that these nights were supposed to be something special, just the two of you - at least she thought so.

You hugged him tightly, laughing slightly when he ruffled your hair before pulling away and leading him towards the exit.

"Emily, hi!" You cheered once you walked him out and noticed her presence. The mystery guy smiled politely at her before dismissing himself.

"Hey, sorry for appearing without a warning. Didn't know you had plans." She said after clearing her throat, trying to make knot there disappear. "Boyfriend?" She added reluctantly, trying to seem curious more than disappointed.

"Brother. And it's alright, you can show up anytime. He showed up unexpected anyway, said he was passing by and wanted to say hi." You chuckled, gesturing for her to come in.

Suddenly she felt stupid for not realizing the similarities, the same color of hair and the way his eyes looked exactly like yours.

"Besides, guys aren't really my thing." You noted with a teasing smirk, but she didn't fail to notice the way your expression told her you were telling the truth.

You didn't give her time to register and process your last words, "Wait a minute. Are you jealous, Agent Prentiss?" Eyebrows raised and a smile that made her want to confess to you right there and then.

"What- no! Why would i be jealous?" Why wouldn't she be jealous? Just the thought of you giving one of those smiles to someone else made her want to kiss you in a room full of people and ask you to be hers. She wanted those specific smiles and loving gazes all to herself.

In fact, she wasn't even sure if she was relieved that you were single or going mad with the fact she now thought she could actually have a chance with you.

"You tell me, Em." The nickname came out smoothly and she wished you would call her that more often. She stand there awkwardly, trying to think of a valid reason to why she wouldn't be jealous. Subconsciously picking at the skin around her nails.

"Hey, i'm just playing with you, pretty. Don't do that." Your hands found hers, gently pulling her hands apart.

Her heart fluttered at your gentleness, her thumbs rubbing against the soft skin of your hands.

She didn't know if she actually had a chance, but she knew she had to try at least. She was gonna ask you out and it had to be soon, she couldn't afford loosing you to someone else before trying.

"guess i'll just sumble on home to my cats, alone... unless you wanna come along"

You hummed softly as you tapped your fingers against the counter, waiting for the clients to start coming in, having just opened the shop a few moments before. You were in a particularly good mood, having spent time with one of you favourite people yesterday - Emily. You always looked forward for the days she would show up right before you closed.

The doorbell ringed and you looked up, being met by the sight of your favourite raven haired agent. You smiled widely, straightening up your back as she approached the counter.

"Hey, Agent. The usual?" Barely waiting for the answer as you started working on getting it ready.

"Hey, yes that would be it." Emily's voiced sounded slightly nervous, you had learned to noticed she would try to mask it every time you sent flirty comments her way. What was weird this time was that you hadn't actually tried to flirted with her, yet.

"Here you go." You rounded the counter, standing now in front of her as you handed her the warm cup. It's not like there were other clients to attend to anyway.

"Thanks." She mumbled out, not really evolving the conversation as she usually would. A slight frown made it's way into your face at her strange behaviour.

"You okay, Em?" You questioned, hand reaching out to touch her arm in a comforting way.

"Yeah i just- i realized we have never hung out outside of the shop. And i was wondering if you'd like to come over or something? We could order takeout and watch something. If you want, of course." She glanced at you hopefully, your hand going still against her arm at the request. You were usually the one to take new steps.

"Are you asking me out, Prentiss?" You managed to tease, fingers now playing with the tips of her hair.

"Yes, i am." Her answer caught you completely out of guard, you didn't actually think she was gonna be the one to ask you that.

"Oh- well it's a date then." Your cheeks were a deep shade of red right now, you were sure of it.

"Great. I'll pick you up at 8." Emily stated, hand against your cheek as she leaned close and placed a gentle peck at the corner of your lips. Her lips staying in place for a moment more than they usually would have. She turned around before you could think of a comeback, leaving the shop.

She was going to drive you crazy someday. Well, crazier. If that's even possible.
