Just putting this out there because I have depression and my brother probably does too (we never talked about it) and when we joked about it on Facebook, my aunt (who barely knows us) got upset by it:
Some people use humor as a coping mechanism. Obviously, not everyone, but some. Sometimes it leads to dark humor. Joking about your feelings is perfectly fine because it is your feelings to express, just don’t joke about other people’s depression unless they give permission.
It’s fine to joke about your feelings, it’s not cool to joke about other’s (unless they express otherwise.)
