The Real Me: Chapter 24, now live on Ao3!

Hello, everyone! It’s been a little while, but @kalcia and I are really excited to bring you the penultimate chapter of The Real Me, which is now live on Ao3!

This chapter had a LOT of moving parts, so I apologize for taking some time to get them all just so. Kalcia was super supportive, and patient, as I grunted and groaned my way across several things these last few months, trying to capture exactly the right feel for this really important moment in Inuyasha and Kagome’s lives. I think I finally got it right, and hope that you think so, too!

How important is this moment? Well, this is the chapter where Inuyasha and Kagome complete the mating ceremony, and “celebrate” their marriage. (Yes, this chapter is spicy, so please heed the tags!) Plus, Kagome has news for Inuyasha.

What kind of news? You will have to check out the chapter for kalcia’s art, as we decided to keep it a surprise 🥰 I will say, though, that it was one of two pieces (along with the art for the final chapter) that she had done, and then said, “Can we fit these in?” and immediately I started plotting out the additional chapters. So thank you, kalcia, for the inspiration all those months ago, and your patience as I worked out how exactly the rest of the story would go.

Chapter 16 Summary: A series of snapshots highlighting some of the most significant and joyous moments in Inuyasha and Kagome’s lives together.

Story Summary: Kagome Higurashi has her dream job, working as a photographer for the internationally well-known Yugen magazine. Her job whisks her all around the world, leaving her feeling lonely sometimes but mostly just incredibly grateful to be doing what she loves. When she gets assigned to Alaska for a month to photograph a series of celestial events, she runs into Inuyasha, a half-demon who lives on his own in the middle of nowhere. A mutual attraction draws them to each other, but Kagome’s time there is limited. Will giving in to their desire lead to love or heartbreak?
