Hello everyone! It’s been a minute (I say this a lot lately, lol, but real life is seriously kicking my ass and it’s been hard to find the energy to post these days), but I am really excited to bring you the next chapter of Just for a Little While, which is a story for my dear, dear @lavendertwilight89.

In this chapter, Inuyasha and Kagome’s “date” continues; he takes her dress shopping, and then out to dinner, and struggles with the knowledge that, after the party, they’ll go back to their regular lives without each other. (Poor Inu has it BAD!)

Groaning, she could hear a soft snarl and bolted upright, the world spinning around her. Another snarl to her left had her instincts springing into action, yanking the hunting knife still deep in her leg and when the flesh eating man launched himself at her neck, she dug the blade in deep, making sure to hit the brain.

He sputtered, blood coming from his mouth and he collapsed dead at her side, just inches from her body. Shuddering, she blinked hard and looked around, listening for any other zombies. They very rarely ran alone, groups of them feeding on any type of flesh as they roamed the lands and she knew she needed to get back to camp.

Pushing past the pain that filled her entire body, she managed to get to her feet, putting all her weight on her left leg. Limping around, she managed to pick up her bow, each of her arrows and her quiver. Rage filled her, cursing the world for another day. That bastard, if I ever see him again, I’m going to kill him. Finally retrieving her knife, she looked up at the sky, the red and orange streams dancing across the sky. Fuck, it’s almost nighttime.

Grimacing, she took a step, biting her tongue, to keep from screaming, tasting the iron blood. It was going to be dark soon and she was a good couple of hours from the camp, but if she didn’t start her way back now, she would be out here with very little protection with a whole lotta monsters that wanted to devour her. I refuse to die like that.

Taking another step, Kagome began her way back through the trees, using her anger as determination to make it back to safety.
