Look. I love Shadybug’s outfit as much as the next gal, but I really don’t get all the hate for the original design all of a sudden.

It’s a superhero suit for a fourteen-year-old, that must combine a red canvas and black spots without making us want to rip our eyes out. It needs to remain practical, both in-show and to allow for the mass production of goodies. Of course it’s not going to be super flashy.
Another thing to consider: Ladybug’s suit was conceived as a basis for more complicated transformations. As such, it needed to be simple enough to allow for additions, while still being recognisable. We would not have gotten all these cool alternate designs (Yes! Even Shadybug herself!) without the original suit.

And from a meta point of view — the costumes are supposed to reflect the holders’ personalities and subconscious desires. Marinette never wanted to be a hero; I think we can forgive her for not putting that much effort into hers.

Promises, promises

Summary: You promised to stay with him all the way, no way were you going to break it. What happens when he asks you to make another promise- another promise to leave?
Sam Winchester x Reader
Warnings!- Alcohol is brought up, drunk!Sam but nothing happens, mentions of past deaths in the episode
Takes place in season two episode eleven
Dialogue is gonna be different, I got inspired after doing a Supernatural rewatch and I wondered how you (Sam's S/O) would react to hearing him talk like this.
Confession- my heart broke again 😭 So prepare for angst, fluff, and hurt/comfort!
"Are you- are you drunk?" You questioned in disbelief as you stared at him, what was he thinking?
"Yeah..." Sam muttered, still slumped in a chair you very much doubted was very comfortable. At least, to be sitting in that position. You grimaced before turning your attention to where the liquor was kept in the hotel room. The glass bottles were just about empty.
What was he thinking? "Sam- we're on a case now, why'd you do it?" Already two deaths had already occurred, another happening just recently, bringing up the total to three. Now was hardly the time to do something like this. Not to mention Sam, not even Dean- made it a habit to drink this much on a case. "... I couldn't save him." The tall male muttered out.
Upon a closer look, you could see his eyes were now red and glassy. Your heart ached at his sentence. "There wasn't anything you could've done, you didn't know."
"That's an excuse." Sam replied firmly, letting out a shaky sigh as he looked straight at you. Which earned a worried look from you. "Sam...?"
"I love you, so much." The first time since arriving in the room, a weak smile graced his face. You felt your cheeks warm at the drunk declaration as you looked at him in surprise. You started dating recently, but while you had known each other a little bit longer than that- it was still a surprise nonetheless. You started to speak, but Sam was already on his feet- wobbling a bit before you hurried over to steady him. As much as you could at least, you were a decent height but it didn't make it easier to steady a six foot tall human male.
"Sam, I-"
"I know, I know- I just...I wanted to say it. Say it before something bad happened." You let out a startled gasp when Sam suddenly wrapped his arms around you, hugging you close but gently. As if he was afraid he would break you. "I said once before, but I felt like saying it again, before... before something bad happened." You looked up at him in confusion, "What are you talking about?"
You knew the world was, well- it was filled with so many monsters and such, but it felt like he was talking about something more specific. "That guy, Ava- I couldn't save them." Sam replied. "And, I gotta- I gotta save them."
You fell quiet at his words. "I know... I know you want to save everyone, but-"
"I have to-!" Sam spoke your name with such urgency. "If- If I can't save strangers, then I can't save you, or-or Dean and... then I can't change."
Change? "Change what-?"
"My destiny- I, I could end up being something I'm not and-"
"Sam that won't happen-"
"You don't know that." Suddenly he pulled away from you, and all too soon- could you feel the cold snatch away the warmth Sam provided. "I could hurt you." His whispered words broke your heart. To know his thoughts spiraled to such a place...
You swallowed hard, taking a deep breath before breathing out. Soon, you walked over and gently grabbed his hand, giving his knuckles a soft kiss- to which he soon faced you. "You won't hurt me." You reassured him, a hopeful look in your eyes. Hopeful that he would trust your words- he could never hurt you. Your hope started to flicker when you saw Sam's expression remain the same. Hopeless and anxious. You fought back another shaky breath.
"Come on, you should get some sleep." Leading him over to the bed, you helped the brunet sit down. You looked up at him when he called your name softly, "You have to promise me you'll run."
Run? "If- if I turn into something I'm not, you have to promise me you're going to run."
Your eyes grew wide with worry and fear. Run? "Sam-"
"You remember that night? That night I told you I love you?" He cut you off as he cupped your face in his hands, his thumbs tracing light circles. You swallowed hard as you nodded. You knew if you talked you would start crying. "I know you promised you'd stay with me-"
"All the way." You managed to whisper out. You promised to be careful, promised to use all the techniques Sam taught you to keep yourself safe when he wasn't around. You promised to stay with him all the way, no matter how scary the monsters got, no matter how dangerous things got. Now- now he was asking you to break it in light of another promise. One you knew damn well you couldn't make.
"Please, please, please..." Sam whispered your name so softly you nearly broke then and there. "Please promise me."
You swallowed hard. You would not cry, you- you would not cry. "It won't come to that Sam. It won't." You quickly kissed him before he could say anything more on the matter. Soon pulling away after a few moments, you helped Sam lay down. "I will promise this though." He looked up as you smiled weakly. "I'll be here when you wake up." You didn't hesitate to pull up a chair, pulling it by the beside so you could grab his hand once more.
Sam stared up at you with such a look that kept breaking your heart over and over again. Eventually his eyes drooped, and he fell fast sleep. The grip on your hand loosened a little, but still held strong.
