[9:06 p.m.] you were only halfway through your drive back home from university when suddenly, your car began to slow down. your eyes immediately went to the gas gauge, which was at empty. how did you not realize that you needed to go to the gas station? panic began to set within you as you miraculously managed to pull over into a parking lot. what now? with fumbling hands, you grabbed your phone from your back pocket and called up your boyfriend. dowoon answered within a few rings. you told him what happened, to which he countered by asking your location. “stay there. I’m coming to get you.” “okay, I’m gonna be right here. see you soon, I love you.” you knew that once the phrase left your mouth, dowoon’s ears and neck must’ve been darkening but nevertheless he responded with an ‘I love you too’ before hanging up, leaving both your hearts pounding within your chests.

Honest Review on “Sky Castle”

just finished sky castle. here’s my honest opinion: *MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

- I don’t want to justify the Hye Na situation: yes, she was underprivileged compared to the rest of the Castle kids; yes, she deserved better because her mom died and she literally knew who her dad was. but, that doesn’t justify the things she did to the Kang family. getting revenge on them for the mistake made by the dad- which was a mistake deemed by his mother- was an immature move, and I expected better of her. there were enough problematic people in this drama, and no one wanted more of that. Hye Na deserved better, but Hye Na could’ve calmed down a little.

- my favorite family was the Woo family: they offered a completely different dynamic compared to the Kang and the Cha families. Jin Hee recognized the problems within their home the fastest and fixed that problem faster comparatively. they were overall the cutest family, and their interactions were so pure and innocent. now, of course, the family that was really adorable alongside the Woos were the Hwangs. off the bat, they exhibited the dynamics of an ideal family, almost. I really loved their household and the way the parents took care of it all, whether it came to happy times or sad times. 

- finally, I would’ve liked to see Ye Seo in a relationship with someone: this is after she went through that character development, but I would’ve liked to see her with either Seo Joon or maybe even Woo Joo. even if the directors would’ve fast forwarded time to a few years later, I think Ye Seo’s personality would’ve been compatible with either/or of these characters. Seo Joon’s very soft-spoken and from the beginning, I thought that he had a sense of empathy towards Ye Seo. I think that would’ve been the key component in their potential relationship. As far as Woo Joo goes, obviously this is based on Ye Seo’s crush on him. I would also think something may have developed in him after he realized that Ye Seo practically gave it up to save him from a life of torment. I think their chemistry worked really well.

Overall, it was probably one of the best dramas I’d ever seen. Amazing character development, and excellent videography. Would I recommend it? Yes. Would I rewatch it? Yes. Did I regret watching this? Absolutely not. Is there a season 2 that will be releasing? hmm, only time will tell ;)

[7:39 a.m.] the raindrops make small splashes into the little puddles that began to form in the cavities and dips formed on the surface of the road. a black car comes to a stop and jaehyun steps out, umbrella protecting his head from the overhead showers pouring from the cesious-tinted sky. the man walks a few yards, maneuvering his way around the ground he knows like the back of his hand. finally, he comes to a halt. in one hand he has a bouquet that contains a plethora of flowers while he clutches the umbrella tight in his other hand. he bends down slightly, leaving the flowers on the ground then retreats to his original stance. “hey, y/n. how’s it going? everything’s going well down here. we are about to go on tour in a few days, and I wanted to stop by and check on you. I picked these for you from the garden you love, and I asked the ahjumma who works there to help me wrap them up for you. I miss you terribly, my love. I know it’s been almost two years but my hands sometimes still reach for you in the mornings. I haven’t had the heart to delete your phone number yet, and I won’t. in our next life, I pray that we can make it together and that neither of us suffers from this loneliness I’m going through.” jaehyun didn’t realize when the tears began to flow from his eyes, standing in front of your tombstone that had your name engraved on it. he inhaled deeply, wiping his moist eyes and face and continued, “I love you very much, y/n and although you don’t live on in this world any longer, you will forever live as the free-spirited and beautiful soul I fell in love with, in my heart.” and with that, he bid his farewell and made his way back to the car. and miraculously by the time he got to his car, the rain had drastically died down, and a ray of sunshine began peeking from the clouds and onto his face. almost as if you were declaring your love back to him from the heavens.
