And later, we learn in dialogue between Gale and Minthara that she's been slipping small doses of venom into Tav's food so that they'll build up an immunity if they ever visit Menzoberranzan.

Minthara is making sure that Tav will never die the way her first lover did.

I'm sorry but it's so fucking funny to me that a large portion of the fandom (in my experience) has Halsin being this extremely patient, kind, loving soul (which he totally can be!) and yet THIS is but ONE in-game chatter dialogue he has-
