If there is not a spoken scene between Open Arms and Warrior of the Mind where Odysseus and Polites hug, Odysseus cries about the guilt for what he had to do at Troy, then Polites comforts him, I am rioting.
"These cows were immortal, they were the sun's god friends".
Thinking about this line, I got the picture of Helios treating his cows like a responsable child with his beloved pets. Like every night he'd end the day by visiting them, petting them, making sure all of them had eaten. Falling asleep on top of one of them, content.
