War in the Prime of Life

Today marks the first birthday of my son, Amjad. Amjad was just two months old when the brutal war on Gaza began, meaning he had spent ten months of his tender life enveloped in fear, tension, fleeing, and displacement.

I had dreamed of celebrating his first year with a joyful family gathering, filled with laughter, a beautifully decorated birthday cake, and many gifts. We would have followed it with a special photo session with our favorite photographer to capture all the precious moments, creating memories to surprise him when he grows older. But the cruel war shattered those dreams. It stole from us the joy of small celebrations. He turned one without us being able to document his most significant and beautiful milestones. We missed recording his first laugh, first tooth, first words "mama" and "papa," first crawl, first step, first hug, and countless other moments…

He turned one far from our warm home, built on foundations of love and security. Far from his grandparents, uncles, aunts, and their boundless love and care. Far from his beautiful new clothes, which were torn apart by the hands of the merciless invaders who ravaged our home, leaving not a single thread intact. He turned one without ever knowing the taste of real food, enduring severe hunger in Northern Gaza with nothing available but canned goods. He turned one without tasting yogurt, milk, bananas, apples, juice, and so many other foods that should have filled his childhood. He relied solely on breastfeeding, which was also strained due to the lack of nutritious food.

Amjad and we dream of living a peaceful, happy life like any child and family in the world. We yearn for a normal life filled with safety, love, and stability, far from the repeated horrors of displacement. We dream of a life brimming with passion and plans for the future, without the constant shadow of death.

Your help for Amjad and us can save our family and help us rebuild anew, allowing us to experience all the beauty life has to offer. Please, do not hesitate to extend your hand.

something that seemed to confused me a few months ago is how Charles didn't seem to attend the executive meeting for the keys (yknow the cutscene that played after the whole misprint ciyrup thing) like at first i was pretty sad that we didn't get to see him during the meeting . then it was explained how he just, doesn't attend any meetings anymore or something? like why does he not even attend his own meetings anymore? that part seemed to kinda go over my head when Cortés first said that during that cutscene, but i have been thinking about it for awhile now and it reminded me of something Portia said earlier in the game. like before player, Portia and tj entered Graphite forest. she said how like Charles has become obsessed with the key hunt as of late

which paired with the fact that he isn't going to any of his meetings anymore is rather... interesting, to say the least. like why has he become so obsessed with the key hunt to the point that he won't even attend his own meetings? what did Joseph tell Charles about the keys that got him so obsessed with them in the first place??

i dont really have any theories about this at the moment, it was just something i had found interesting and just wanted to share. maybe when more information comes out i will be able to articulate one, but until then I have nothing

I was listening to 'Love Ain't It' from Descendants 4 which inspired these two drawings. I also finally drew Charles, which is a plus and I got more practice drawing Quincy!

I just had a mini lore episode and had to post it on Reddit since it was too long for Tumblr. Some Food for Mind. Long story short. The Blue Strings isn't just a way to explain why we're here. It's also like a very tragic idea of war. Forcing someone to be a soldier to protect those they care about. Because the Blue Strings essentially makes those it attached to, a soldier. Since like there was more than one vessel for the Blue Strings. The Ten Heroes. I thought about "What if there were others, what if there were children like Player, what if they didn't make it?" Since War involves lots of death and loss. Especially for the Doodle War. Safe to say shit got dark fast.
