SO SOICHIRO HALVED HIS LIFESPAN FOR THE SHINIGAMI EYES, AND THEN DIED THE NEXT DAY OF A BULLET WOUND, NOT BECAUSE OF A DEATH NOTE MEANING HE ONLY HAD TWO DAYS TO LIVE ANYWAY

WHICH PROBABLY JUST MEANS HE WOULD HAVE DIED OF THAT BULLET WOUND ANYWAY BUT I'M CLUTCHING AT STRAWS HERE

Anyway I think its kind of sad, Light would have probably used that extra day to pressure him into killing Mello

Happy belated birthday Near! I'm sorry the coloyr is iffy, I've been doing it with my non-dominant hand throughout the day and trying a new style. Hopefully when I get a full cast next week I can draw some stuff :D

Honestly though I really like this drawing especially since I mainly did it with my left hand

Turns out I fractured and dislocated my wrist so it'll take a few weeks to heal

To celebrate Near's birthday (24/08) I started a drawing just on my phone using my finger

Unfortunately I can't finish it well because I may or may not have broken my wrist so :)

I'm going to try finish it with my left hand

How would a wholly genderbent deathbote be?

I've been thinking about this ever since this comment (thanks btw :D) I think that judging by the misogyny in the source material I think it could go two ways.

1. Minor changes

The shinigami woukd stay the same but Naomi probably wouldn't have left the FBI. Raye would still be on that mission in Japan though. The plot would ultimately be the same.

2. (SPOILERS) The ending literally changes

Trying not to read too deep into this but I think this option is less likely but still probable. Light and L's rivalry would be the same, Near would work with the FBI but Mello may not even get onto the Mafia. Even if he did Takada would probably have never been kidnapped and Light might even end up winning, because it was Takada's kidnapping that literally directly led to Lights loss.

Of course it would probably change nothing but its interesting to me that even just a change of gender can completely change how a story ends simply due to stereotypes and ideals. I'd love to expand on this in a longer piece but that will have to wait until I can type a little better :D
