One more thing to love about tennis at the Olympics: actual easy access to broadcast! I’m going to be able to watch the Carlos and Rafa match!

Today, Nuno Borges defeated Rafael Nadal on clay, winning in straight sets to secure his first ATP title and what was only Portugal's fifth-ever ATP-level title. Just months after João Sousa, who was considered Portugal's greatest tennis player, retired from professional tennis, Nuno has cemented himself as our best hope and has managed to shed some light on Portuguese tennis once again. It may be a small sport in our country, but players like João and Nuno will forever be an inspiration to countless Portuguese tennis players (amateurs or professionals) and hopefully even inspire more young children in Portugal to pick up a racket and embark on a journey through this beautiful sport.
Grateful to have found an explanation as to why this case was not made public but others were:

Reddit is useful sometimes.
Aggressive fans are such a deterrent, no matter the topic (they ruined the Star Wars franchise for me, for instance).
Seeing Novak’s genuine emotion when he won gold actually moved me and reminded me that there was a person at the center of these trolls shouting online.
Achievements don’t happen in a vacuum. And they build on the past. I loathe that GOAT debate because of that: several people can be great, at different times, for different reasons.
IF I SEE ONE MORE
“debate is over!”
FROM NOVAK FANS I'LL SERIOUSLY CONSIDER MURDER.
Oh my god see the fans always takes away my happiness for Novak. If only Novak had better fanbases that doesn't see him as a god (not all the fans ofc, just some, my mutuals and friends are very chill tyvm) then I might actually be a fan of him. Maybe not but I'll appreciate him more openly.
there's never a debate WHY??? because we should all just appreciate all 3-4 of them because theyre all amazing and legends of the sport and they werethe ones that made each other better players. Seriously, even when Roger and Andy retired, and every match for Rafa might be his last. Some of Novak's fans still can't seem to appreciate the other 3 players that obviously played a part in Novak's success.
