So I'm Rewatching Bsd And I Have Some Thoughts About Atsushis "father" Ep
So I'm rewatching bsd and I have some thoughts about Atsushis "father" ep
Dazai needed this to happen almost as much as atsushi did
Dazai needed to know how much this would hurt atsushi because of akutagawa. Dazai is starting to set up a team up between atsushi and Aku which will need him to interact with Aku a lot. Dazai knows how wrong it was what he did and even tho the orphanage was way more brutal than he was Dazai needed to know what the other end would do if they wanted forgiveness or to try and make up for their past fuckedupidness
It won't be the same but Dazai will have an idea on what Aku might go through interacting with him again (And might find out ways he could ease that pain for Aku)
Dazai wants to be careful around Aku, he knows he is way too important to Aku for him to disobey or leave him so the reason behind Dazai doing this was because he genuinely wants to change for the better and is desperate to believe he is capable of that, this is a huge step for him and he wants to be careful not to mess up because that would mean he is as bad as he believes he rlly is and he has spent the last few years trying his hardest to be someone that can help people and to make sure he is someone oda would be happy to see

Dazai doesnt belong in the pm. he never did. heres why
in the pm, dazai calls chuuya his "dog". akutagawa is referred to as "the rabid dog of the port mafia". when we first meet akutagawa, he calls higuchi "a useless cur" (cur means an agressive dog or one in poor condition). we can see that the port mafia is full of dogs.
in The Day I Picked Up Dazai, oda refers to seeing dazai as a stray cat (i think). almost every headcanon associates dazai with being a black or stray (or both) cat.
and then we have the ada.
one of their employees litterly turns into a tiger. the president is obsessed with cats.
in the pm, dazai was a stray cat in a den of dogs. thats why he fits in/cares about the ada. he fits there, feels at home.
