being in the tma fandom, i also see a lot of posts about malevolent. and like…. what do yall got going on over there. sometimes i will see the most heart shattering displays of intimacy between two people who have blurred the lines of devotion so far its hard to tell where love and betrayal and trust are different and sometimes its some fuckass demon going OH ARTHUR. OH THERE IS A CREATURE ARTHUR. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. ITS LARGE AND SCARY ARTHUR AND ITS GOING TO KILL YOU. OH MY GOD!!!

So I understand that editing out Markiplier could be hard, but because you haven't, it seems like it could be very much likely that in that universe Jon Sims IS Markiplier. I'm this universe of TMA, while he's running away from the horrors he also has the side job of being one of the most famous YouTubers ever, and that none of his Archival Staff knew (this is especially funny when thinking of Tim)

I think the butcher noticing his weird gaze, is either, maybe it's just blank and non-focused, or just non-usual of your eyes were commanded by an Eldritch being with basically no basis on humans and our standards, has an entire different personality ideals, and beliefs as you, and main job is just to look around and perceive, your eye are going to move differently, but just enough to be weird if your focusing. And also John misses things and can't tell Arthur everything immediately, so that's gonna show up, like Arthur tripping. Also strangers rarely know he's blind. The police officers were probably picking up on John's deliberate detachment, and actively wanting him to get in trouble, Arthur also couldn't make his head follow accordingly either, I think the movement of your body even if it's very small will follow your gaze. okay. so. i have been thinking about this so hard right? if john is properly using arthurs eyes how on earth would the butcher and the cops notice hes blind? when the police officer (back in. whichever episode) was like “oh shit. you really are blind” then does that mean however he was checking john wasnt tracking his movement? CAN john control their eyes or just see out of them? does arthur only move his eyes when he hears a noise? if not. HOW DO STRANGERS KNOW HES BLIND. doth he have milky yellow eldrich eyes?? is that it??? well NO because the butcher is pretty spesific about how weird they are !!! if john can cry out of arthurs tearducts can he blink?? move his eyes?? if so. hes doing an awful job at the Looking Around And Focusing thing. it makes me wonder if he just has his feild of vision and tries to focus on different things without actually looking at them. hence “arthur turn your head”

I'm thinking about (fat) characters who are relentlessly kind and nice in the face of the bullshit they've faced and continue to suffer through. Azirophale, Martin Blackwood, Jane Crocker (I'm sure there are others, fat or not, but funny how many of them are fat) who neglect and overcome their own bitterness constantly for the sake of others.

Betrayed by so much of the things they believed in, the people around them, the circumstances they're trapped in, and especially by themselves. So riddled with doubt and insecurity even at the best of times. Unable to trust their own thoughts and feelings, taking on the blame for others when they were never at fault. Trained to be "pleasant."

Until they snap and just have to be a fucking bitch for just a moment.

And yet that's when people tend to like them more, isn't it? One of the things Crowley loves about Azirophale is how bitter and bitchy he can really be. Jon seems to like Martin more when he tells him off, gets [redacted] arrested. Dirk is an appreciator of Jane's bossyness (leadership).

Bitter bitter people who try so hard to be kind to others while deeply struggling to extend that kindness to themselves. They don't understand that they're bitter, they don't accept it. It doesn't make any sense, they are so nice! And there's one of the deepest betrayals because they just can't face their own bitterness. The carrot they've been told to care for and cherish has been a stick all this time.

They did everything they were told was right. The first, and worst of all: don't trust yourself.
