Trying to help family trapped in Gaza for 10 months

Hello everyone, and hope you read my story.

I’m Mohammed Shamia, a fourth year student of laboratory medicine.

I’m trying to get funds for my family of 9 members

With the beginning of the donation campaign, I was the first individual from my family escape to Egypt after 200 days, so I could help my family to get out of Gaza.

Unfortunately, the crossing close and my family still in Gaza

My family lost everything, our house and my brother's house, we lost our happy lives

Now my family lives in difficult conditions in Gaza and fear between plastic walls that do not protect from the summer heat or the cold of winter

This is how my family struggles daily to obtain the most basic rights

An airhead who carries a gifted brain, she’s smart but doesn’t feel the need to use it if it doesn’t help with her interests, leading to her to be dozing off in classes but ace her assignments (granted, she always turns her homework in late..)

She’s never aware of her surroundings and gets lost easily, wandering off to wherever catches her eye, always being a lazy bum until you wave a treat in front of her.

They never curse, but when they do, that means they’re genuinely enraged, does that make them threatening in the slightest? No, but they do have spikes on their shoes…

They’re sarcastic, but with their soft tone sometimes what they say gets miscommunicated, something Kora wants to work on.

Hana, or Mami, as Kora calls her, Kora knew about gyarus, never seeing one before in the wild, Kora was immediately impressed by her. But Kora at first muted their respect and admiration for the older woman, but as they grew closer, Kora learned that despite all that, Mami was another human. They met her after they met Grace.

Grace and kora met at the opening ceremony, Kora noticed the iconic raccoon stripes of hair and jumped for joy, another girl that didn’t know what the duck was going on, who also had a great fashion taste! Grace’s presence soothed Kora and she just followed the scene girl around like a puppy.

Growing up with Asian parents, Kora was occupied with studies in no time, but they still loved their parents as they had a reward system for her. Good grades, purchase whatever you want.

A child prodigy, studying WAYYYY ahead of her grade, always at the top. It bored her.

Then as high school end grew near, Kora was a bit bored and decided to try and be on social media more, started with cute pictures of insta to fashion tips on YouTube, then a streamer by the start of senior year.

Her cute style and eye catching, desirable outfits caught attention of millions, leading her to be very successful, her parents knew what kinda of person kora was, and while they were against it at first. They eventually gave Kora the trust and time.

Her fans are called ‘dreamers’ as she encourages them to dream, and that if life is that boring, the least you could do it dream.

technically, this goes out to everyone who participated, but ven just set the ball rolling to actually write abt this

The heterochromatic eyes look down at the screen, they’ve been staring for quite a bit now, they were changed out of their special, birthday suit, they got a text from their local prefect.

the moonlight and stars of the outside was the only source of light, Iyad sat on their bed, they haven’t moved in a minute, it could be disturbing if you were in the room with them.

iyad scanned the screen again, almost checking if this was a real thing. it made them look like they’ve never gotten a praise before.

iyad has gotten compliments before, he wasn’t dying from jeers or anything. iyad always simply felt indifferent to these type of things.

but today, today was.. today was wonderful.

all the friendly gestures, the enthusiasm, and even if not everyone won at the gacha pulls that Azul had so generously hosted. iyad still couldn’t ask for more.

seeing this right before the clock strikes midnight, it ties everything they experienced from the moment they stepped right out of this bed.

now they have to wait another 365 days. but if it means they get to relive this, then they’d wait even more, just to feel this level of warmth and comfort again.

as iyad puts their phone down, they lay their body on the soft mattress, the digital texts burned into their heads as it joins the other carvings in their head that were made today.

all the memories that were made, they were being interlinked with one another, the ribbons of laughter and grins tied around a box that was to preserve the pictures and frames of comraderie and love, to be stored in Iyad’s heart forever.

sitting inside like a present, waiting to be opened.

idk what possessed me to write this but the nap i took today is fucking me over so bad.. anyway

My precious family and I are seeking your generous donations to help us escape death in Gaza and evacuate to Egypt. It breaks our hearts to pieces to even think about evacuating from our beloved Gaza where we've lived our entire lives and have had unnumberable beautiful memories. Throughout the five months of the ravaging war in Gaza, the 5 members of my family have been displaced four times in the Gaza Strip seeking every avenue to escape imminent death. At one time, my family and I barely escaped death when sniper bullets hit the house where we sought refuge, and thank God no one of the children was injured. The children and adults alike had to crawl on the floor to move from one room to another to minimize the risk of getting a bullet in the head or chest. We saw flashbacks before our eyes from our journey in life and thought: "This is the end. Here is where everyone in this family dies." I looked at the children with a heavy heart and thought to myself: "Should not they be playing football or hide and seek instead of trying to hide from Israeli sniper bullets?"

However, I will not save a breath in trying to protect my family and secure a joyous prosperous future for our children. With your generous donations, my family and I will leave famine, death, and destruction in Gaza and get into Egypt. The Egyptian authorities require 5000 dollars for each adult individual who wants to get into Egypt and half that amount from children. The remainder of the money will be used for daily supplies and living expenses in Egypt.

With your generous donations, we have a better chance of escaping death and enjoying the safety for which we've dearly longed for five months.
