Song #196
Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie
It was released in 1980 in his album Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)
Fun fact: the lyrics act as a sequel to Bowie's hit "Space Oddity" which ends with Major Tom alone floating out in space. Eleven years after liftoff, Ground Control receives a message from Major Tom, who has succumbed to drug addiction and increased paranoia following his abandonment to space: "Strung out in heaven's high / hitting an all-time low."

Song #175
Treehouse by Alex G
It was released January 17, 2011
Fun Fact: The song is about a person who has someone that’s really special to them, However, it does seem to be a little dark when they say “I don’t think I’m ever gonna let you leave.” This does show how someone would feel selfishness, trying to keep someone all to themselves and only spending time with them (hence the, being in a treehouse and only allowing the person they want to stay in it). The song frames this in a really innocent and friendly way, as treehouses are usually associated with fun and childhood. It masks the darkness.

Song #189
The Court Jester by thquib (feat. Fukase)
It was released December 30, 2020
Fun Fact: This song is about an exiled jester who is going back to the kingdom which exiled him in an attempt to take advantage of the king’s weakness and seize power. Throughout the song, he talks about how he feels the king’s cruelty is destroying the kingdom and why he, the jester, must take charge. Eventually, the ridiculous situation becomes too much for the jester, and he bursts out laughing (making the jester’s sanity rather questionable). Finally, at the end of the song, the jester shows his true motive, which is to start a revolution so that ordinary fools like himself, not kings, will rule.
