wow

best song ever

I recently added the first two albums of The Black Keys to my vinyl collection. The newest one is a Christmas gift to my boyfriend, ‘cause I know they are one of his favorite bands and I knew he wanted to start collecting records as well, so I wanted to give him the first one.

too many people forget goth people like goth music
THIS SONG RULES I NEED EVERYONE TO KNOW ABT IT AND IF YOU LIKE IT BE MY FRIEND
it bothers me that you often don't really hear about people having a "favorite album" the way they might have a favorite movie or favorite video game
How does one start a band when no one wants to be in it with you 😭🔫

The Marching Fire
13th Sky
I've learned over the years that I'm terribly picky about my goth rock, death rock, and post-punk in general. I have a small selection of bands I love dearly, yet outside of that I struggle to find new material that appeals to me within the genre.
Well 13th Sky have easily joined my small selection. This is a beautiful blend of dark influences that roars like a punk album, but remains catchy and melodic like the best goth rock. It's fast, fiery, melancholic and scathing.
The guitarwork is superb, clearly pulling from classic deathrock, Sisters of Mercy jangles, and even what sounds like horror punk and surf rock on some tracks. The vocal work is blessedly it's own thing, no Andrew Eldritch try hard here. I would equate it to a deeper Mat McNerney of Grave Pleasures with almost a touch of Michale Graves.
The rhythm section is energetic, catchy, and foot-tappingly good. The drumming is upbeat and reminiscent of the finest punk batteries. The bass lurks in the background, taking center stage when evoking that classic goth rock sound, such as on Solace. And the synths are tastefully utilized, creating atmospheres and filling out the overall sound while never being overdone.
You can pick up this Los Angeles, California based band's material from their Bandcamp page.

"Desolate District"
SINE
Austin, Texas electronic project SINE have released a new track as a teaser for their upcoming album Mantis. The track features industrial powerhouse Chris Connelly of Ministry, Revolting Cocks, Pigface, and his prominent solo career, fame.
It's an excellently enticing track, more of the lush dark electronic soundscapes SINE presented on first album Insomniae. However this track feels a little more polished, and the mix is fantastic. Desolate District has a lovely melancholic allure, a seductive grime that pervades the track. The back and forth of the vocals is well executed, a blend of both sweet and bitter. The track displays a subtle mastery over the elements present in the first album, a bit more comfort and the aforementioned polish with the overall sound. I look forward to the full album, which as of yet does not have an official release date.
You can get the track from SINE's Bandcamp, as well as first album Insomniae and the Injected EP!
