AITA? I (26 M) assumed the bounty hunter out to kill me (18 M) was a woman. In my defense, he was dressed as such, with a long wig and feminine clothing. He seemed unreasonably annoyed at this, and all I said was that I didn’t “expect” the chain user to be a woman, which he was so peeved about he had to reveal his true gender to me. I dunno did he also think the chain user being a woman was incomprehensible? I admit I have my personal biases but I consider myself a feminist.
Edit: He’s trying to kill me because about 5 or 6 years ago me and my friends slaughtered his entire family.
Edit 2: I obviously respect women, three of my friends are women, I just was surprised initially that one could apprehend me in such a way since they’re small and weak. And obviously he was more surprised otherwise he wouldn’t have blown his cover.
Edit 3: oh my goddd enough with the whole “yta you killed his entire family” that was 6 years ago get a life smh

My Roommate is a Detective (2020)
Set in the mid-1920s. A resourceful young police officer named Qiao Chu Sheng is on the trail of a brutal but devious killer. Realizing that the police force will need some extra help with this difficult case, he decides to form an elite crime-busting detective team. He reaches out to a young man who has recently returned from studying in Great Britain, Lu Yao. Qiao Chu Sheng has learned that Lu Yao has remarkable powers of deduction and a brilliant mind – and believes he can help crack this difficult case. To round off the team, he enlists the help of Bai You Ning, a focused young female reporter for a daily newspaper. A free-thinking, independent young woman, she has a strong sense of justice – and pledges to help catch the killer. The trio form a small detective squad that specializes in solving strange and unsettling murder mysteries.
Cast: Hu Yi Tan, Zhang Yunlong, Xiao Lan
REVIEW:
Enjoyable male leads, Hu Yi Tan and Zhang Yunlong are both funny and good looking hard to resist their charm. Their bromance in the show is great, Lu Yao (Hu Yi Tan) is a scaredy cat but a good detective even though he isn't an actual detective but more of a hired consultant when it comes to the cases, Qiao Chusheng (Zhang Yunlong) is charming and has that kung fu whit with his background being part of the mafia in china before being an Inspector for the Chinese police, The men are enjoyable to watch, but the female lead Xiao Lan as Bai Youning is one that will make your eyes roll when she is in the scene with the men but somewhat can be bearable at times. I preferred that she was either written as less annoying and dumb and more professional since she is supposed to be a journalist she acts more like a child who is just trying to annoy her father who is the powerful mafia-esque man in the city. I feel like this drama shouldn't need a female as a possible love but she ends up being it for Lu Yao. The chemistry feels more like a brother/sister thing with the way they act around each other and even Qiao Chusheng cant stand it either he walks either out the room when they bicker like siblings.
Dont get how they can actually have any romantic feelings though with the way they are written, Lu Yao being a smart yet scared man when it comes to danger and her acting like a little girl who just wants to make her father angrier when she is being disobedient. For a character who is supposed to be a journalist, she seems to do a decent job at getting answers but no manners at or professionalism when its expected when she is at a crime scene and such. Also dont really get why they have americans who seem to have a side agenda to get rid of Lu Yao which is odd and funny when they talk bc their voices seem dubbed in a horrible way even when Lu Yao and Bai Youning speaks their english is just smh bad hearing.
The only interesting thing mostly is the cases flow after each other episode-wise, when they solve one case another pops up right after. It usually takes two maybe 3 eps to solve a case but there's a flow to each ep after one ends and so on. Its the case-solving that interests me being a period type C drama. There is something about the plot that is similar to something that the US has done with a character that solves cases but has strong character to help out. Kinda like CASTLE, The Mentalist they both had that element with someone solving cases but needing the police to help close the case. China seems to take some spins on the american dramas which can be done vise versa.
If you are interested in looking for some fun case-solving stories in a Chinese drama this one would have to be one of them to watch. You might want to end up skipping scenes that have Bai Younning in it though which some say is true she's just a bad fit in a drama like this., but the men do alot more of the work than her which is more interesting so stay for the case solving and skip her if your use to annoying female leads which mostly happens when she acts like a child around Lu Yao.
Listening to Montero while drunk at 1:06am and the part where he says, "I only fuck the ones I envy" is so relatable like, all the people I fucked around with were people I either envied or hated for doing/being what I couldn't do/be. Be it being friendly, tall, good looking, book smart (was seeing dust in uni and I failed all my classes). Like, I want to stain them with my muck, make them feel how I feel and hate themselves cos they could never fix me nor change me and I derived joy in making them feel inferior to me cos I got involved with them to prove a point to myself. What point? I didn't know, guess I just wanted to drag them down to my level.

The wolf seems to shake itself out of its stupor long enough to nudge Stiles’ chin with its head before licking him again.
Stiles smiles. “Hey, Wolfie. I have an important question for you.”
The wolf looks at Stiles, and sometimes it’s weird that it does that. Like, it can tell when Stiles is saying the name Stiles gave it.
“Would you still love me if I was a worm?”
