It never ceases to amuse me.

Dean can make indirect stoner references with no admission of partaking in any of it and people will read through that he’s probably had a few wild nights in his life. Sure, he hinted going to Amsterdam would be fun because the coffee shops don’ serve coffee but we’ve never SEEN it and he’s never said he DID. But nobody argues this. We don’t get ridiculous “but it could be” arguments. It could be that he thought trying it once would be fun before he dies; it could be him admiring the craftsmanship on the glassware; it could be, it could be. But common sense dictates better.

Dean can say “friggin” through the whole show with the exception of bleeps in the Ghostfacers episode and everybody can subtextually extrapolate, without being argued, that Dean is the kind of person that would be cussing like that all the time if it wasn’t a CW show and are fully aware they had fourth wall liberty to play with it at ep, unlike other times. Nobody recoils. Nobody argues it down. Nobody is surprised. There’s no argument about this. It could just be a one-off. It could just be they blooped it for EFFECT when he was saying “friggin”. It could be, it could be, it could be. But common sense dictates better.

Dean can persistently flirt with, check out, have subtextual indirect encounters with, summers of love, discussions of what he can fit up his ass, years of blatant romantic tropes with a man, open commentary that’s widely known as standard bi-coding and everybody loses their mind and tries to act like that kind of subtext doesn’t count because wE diDnT sEe iT. Suddenly, common sense does not dictate better. Suddenly it’s literally “pics or it didn’t happen” level logical challenge.

Now, this is not, of course, directed at the people who want public bisexual representation which is, of course, totes fair. But what this IS about is the blatant transparency of motivation behind antis and at least their power cores that throw hands back at the very idea, be it Destiel or just bi Dean in any capacity, on their level of the validity and common sense of true thematic subtext versus intentional belligerence to LGBT rep for any number of reasons, and why culture has a goddamn problem to begin with.

And that, my friends, is the goddamn tea.

Do be advised when the inevitable antis come screaming for this post having a very ironic and self-unawares hissy fit, you will be blatantly ignored, laughed at on my end of the computer, and you can picture me sipping from my giant ass coffee/tea mug while you illustrate the issue full force.
