Anyone who has been to a Halestorm concert knows exactly what I’m talking about.

I was randomly inspired one day to create my concept art for another world, a foreign planet and some of its moons--one of them terraformed--in another part of the universe. It was fitting that I would ultimately post it on July 20, on the fiftieth anniversary of Neil Armstrong’s historic walk on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission. I’ve always believed that humans are naturally curious and that while we should always take top priority with maintaining our home world, we should continue to explore the galaxy. (If I’m feeling so inspired, I may be tempted to use these worlds again in some future works of mine. Who knows?)

Okay, so I may have overestimated the number of people who know what I’m talking about with this meme, so let’s give some background.
First of all, Arejay Hale is the drummer for American hard rock band Halestorm. He is lead singer Lzzy Hale’s brother and the best way I can describe him is a real life version of Animal from the Muppets. He is an incredibly talented drummer known for his flashy style of playing.

During each concert, Arejay gets a drum solo and the crowd goes wild, right? Except at the end of each solo, he whips these out:

WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE?!

Now, I first saw Halestorm in concert last month, and I hadn’t watched any live videos of them playing before, so when Arejay took his solo, I didn’t know what was coming, and I was completely unprepared when he announced that it was time for “THE BIG STICKS!”

Bonus: Here’s a video of him using the sticks.

Just in case you guys forgot...
My asks are still on, so feel free to ask me about music, art, videos, movies, cartoons, life, the universe, and everything.

I’ve been wanting to draw something for Rayllum Month (it’s July), but I haven’t had the time to draw for all the prompts. I’ll definitely be drawing for some of the later ones, though!
Meanwhile, enjoy this old drawing I made earlier this year. I think it fits the prompt for day one, “Beach Day.”
Prompts:
