EVERYBODY SHUT UP
MY SONG "WE LIVE FOR ROCK" JUST GOT PLAYED ON THE RADIO
THIS IS NOT A DRILL
Crazy dream I had.
So for context, I'm the frontman of my rock band, Dark Matter (stylized DAЯK MATTEЯ). We were pretty active in the 2010s, but then members left, we went through a few lineup changes, and I moved away to go to college. Recently, I started recording new Dark Matter stuff, but while I was inactive a few other bands sprung up using that same name.
Anyway, I had a dream last night that I was in a courtroom, and I was being sued by another band called Dark Matter for using that as my band name, and their lawyer said they had used it since 2018 and had applied for a trademark. So I dramatically pulled out my own trademark card (which I guess is a thing) to show them like this:
And then the courtroom suddenly turned into an arena like this and there was a whole crowd and everything, and one of the other Dark Matter’s band members said, “W-well, it doesn’t matter! We’ve been using the name since 2018!” so I presented another card like that and said, “I’ve been using it since 2011!” and they collectively gasped and the crowd went wild.
But then their lawyer started laughing quietly, the laughter then increasing in intensity, and said, “But you didn’t play any gigs or release any music with your Dark Matter from 2018-2022! And you didn’t defend your trademark against others using it! So you forfeit the right to keep your band name! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!”
And I was really nervous and scared, but then I woke up.
Anyway, there is no moral of this story.
i keep telling myself i can’t handle longer projects but in the last four days i wrote 23,377 words just totally by the seat of my pants
