“Do I even wanna know why you guys got started with an insult match, to begin with? Why’d you even try to insult him, to begin with? The guy’s older than me, meaning he has a lot of material than probably the both of us combined.”
“As much as I’d like to have a nice heater, I’d rather it didn’t feel like the tropics in the middle of summer, so lemme see what I can find.”

“Cleaning up some trash. A little while back, me and a friend got some revenge on a family organization headed by the Marcanos. They got their hands on a couple guns that shouldn’t have been in their reach, to begin with. Then they started a total takeover.”
“We took care of the Marcanos, but there’s still some strings we missed. Ones missing their times in court or are trying to bribe them.”
“Our job’s making sure they get their dues so they don’t try and rise up.”
“Funny how life works out, sometimes it doesn’t go the way people think, even with some good looks like you do,” She said as she takes a sip. “It’s a weird-ass current sometimes.”
That’s something she learned early on before she started scavenging. It didn’t work too well anytime she tried to fight back anytime shit started going down. But then, she learned not to do that, rather trying to fix the aftermath, living in the moment, remaining somewhat optimistic in this life.
“Don’t know. There’s a lot of parts in a big galaxy. What did he look like?” She asked. “Does this friend have a name?”
She wondered if he was just as sweet as he was. Given that Ash was sweet, she hoped his friend was a little cuter than he was.

Out of all the places for all the reasons, she really didn’t want to be here. She didn’t want to be having this talk about this person. But here she was having this conversation at this meeting about this person taking on her friend’s name. A name that the whole world seems to care about having serve their own needs instead of the people.
She comes alone in her uniform, repaired after the fight with Thanos, and a little darker than normal after accepting the Magpie within her although she did have a black trenchcoat over it all. She didn’t bother having someone tell her directions, she already knew. She remembered she thought she was a mutant, but even after knowing what she really was, she wasn’t sure how she attained all this power.
Standing at the door, she takes a deep breath, in a tiny attempt to calm down and hide her anger, before opening the door and walking into the room. Looking over everyone, there are some familiar faces, most notably Fury. But she looks at the one unfamiliar to her, the one wearing the uniform. She can tell he’s nervous and sweating. Mentally, she turns on any air conditioners in the room and silently walks to her seat next to her familiar faces. But she said something to him that nobody could hear physically because she said it mentally to him in a calm voice that greeted him
“Hello. I’m Dana.”

She sighed laying her head back against the edge. She thinks about the bad blood that not only began when he blasted off her arm, but also for the envy she held for him because he was the one Jean reciprocated feelings to. On top of that, she often was handed reports of Scott’s actions from overseas so as to create a plan of attack in order to protect citizens, both human and mutant alike. This during her time as MI5 of course.
Her stomach felt like there was a heavy pit any time she recieved such reports. He was better than her in so many ways yet he had started to stoop so low. There was no enjoyment upon knowing what he did while she was what was considered at the top. But in the end they had both fallen. Stooping low. Taking another deep breathe, she considered his words. He was right, she cared about them. She tried to do as much as she could for them in MI5, and even now she would continue to do so.
She had missed so much in their times of need. She wasn’t there when they needed her the most. She needed to be here for this one. To help them now, as a way of coming back and making up for it. This wasn’t about Scott and their bad blood. This was about helping the ones she cared for the most. Kicking Scott right where the sun didn’t shine could wait. This event couldn’t. Sighing again, calmer now, the black veins faintly visible now, she turned at him.
“You are right about me caring about them. So how can I help? I’m listening.”
When Friends Know No Better

“It’s a good thing knowing incense exists, cause I used to do that around the school whenever he smoked in an area. But while I will agree it is nasty, Logan’s body is constantly regenerating, so his lungs are protected in a sense. Still nasty though, not sure why he did it in your guys' kitchen. He’s just an old man who doesn’t give a flip about where he does it as long as he does it.”
“Though not gonna lie, there’s an opportunity for profit on that kind of thing. Maybe make a hot tub product; ‘Hot Storm’. Stay where you are, lemme see what I find, hopefully.”
She disappears around the corner into the other room. A couple minutes later, she comes back, dumping a pile of clothes onto the table, ranging from different eras. However, she keeps a jacket close to her. One with orange rings nearing the sleeves.
“Pick what you like, just avoid any flapper dresses. I don’t think they’re ready for accidental incineration yet.”
