She Nodded, With Some Worry. She Didnt Think About What Could Happen If She Found His Remains If The
She nodded, with some worry. She didn’t think about what could happen if she found his remains if the worst came. Shima didn’t want to think about it. Her dad was tough and smart. She had hope though that overwhelmed the worrying feeling.
She slipped the photo back in her pocket. She had been in the city for a couple weeks at least minus the traversing through the woods. While she had been lucky, many others hadn’t. There could be more out there, along with the monsters without a chance.
“That sounds good. But on one condition: I go with you out there.”
Shima was aware of the monsters. But that wasn’t gonna stop her from finding her dad. On top of that, her aiming was top notch thanks to her dad teaching her. And from all the practicing. And the times she was bored.

i love taking the idea of “the serum gave steve better muscles and better senses” and just pushing it just that little bit into uncanny valley territory. he can see very slightly into the ultravioliet and infared spectra, moves/thinks quicker than normal people (hes conciously slowing himself down a LOT bc he knows it freaks people out) and is just. really strong. all of him is very strong. he can open a can of beans with a fingernail.
“Well, guess that’s settled then,” She nodded.
Already she’s eager to go into the cities once again, as this emboldened her. Perhaps at this rate they’ll find her dad in no time, now that she would be fighting alongside who she could very well consider Hercules. Was he? She had to ask when they were out.
For now, she was hungry. Food would be her quest for the time being. That and to get the arrow back after that.
Sometime later...Within a destroyed city.
Having restocked on arrows, she now walked over rubble with her crossbow in hand ready. She didn’t have any fancy armor like her companions, but she had some fancy goggles. And nice boots paired with her stolen oversized Sharks sweater. She would’ve stolen a cougars sweater, but unfortunately that was her favorite team.
Her dad always told her if she was gonna get covered in blood, she should do it in her least favorite shirt. And the sharks were her least favorite team so there was that. Following behind Diaz, she couldn’t help with the question burning in her mind she had earlier.
Looking up at Diaz, she had to know. “Hey can I ask you something?”
“Oh ok--” She stopped mid-sentence with a sudden confused look. Gears? Thoughts ran across her head trying to figure out if it’s something she had heard of. But no, it wasn’t. The word ‘gears’ was such an unfamiliar and alien term to her now.
“What...are Gears?” She asked confused, as her head tilts with eyebrows raised up.

Gabe gives a hearty chuckle at that, the tension draining out of his shoulders in a suddenly calm release; he glanced at himself, for a moment, as if he didn’t know what he looked like, and shrugged his wide shoulders thoughtfully.
“No, I’m not Hercules, Shima, but I guess us Gears tend to look and act a lot like him. Being big and huge warriors, and all of that. I sure wish we had Hercules on our side, though. I think he’d probably be a big help in taking down these damn Locust.”
he glances at her, and smiles a little, hefting his rifle as they keep walking.
When she had a goal, she would always be determined to stick to it until it was completed. This was no time to back away from it in danger like this. However, she was surprised when he agreed to her condition easily. But what mattered now was that she had a chance to find her dad. If not him, perhaps others who didn’t have her. With a chance came hope and it was evident through her ever beaming smile.
“You don’t have to worry,” she said pulling out her crossbow, aiming for the sand bags used as target practice without hesitation. She pulled the trigger and the shot straight through where the head of a monster would be, Piercing through the bag itself.
“The monsters’ have been helping me practice,” She added as she reloaded before she slung it back on her back.
