there's probably SOME parallel there to chapter one having two character creators,
one at the very beginning where you choose the head, body, and legs of a vessel that ends up being immediately discarded,
and one in the middle where you create another vessel where you choose the head, body, and legs that also ends up being immediately discarded.
and then in chapter TWO, Rouxls Kaard of all people finds your broken vessel, stitches it back together and fights you with it. And then you use it to fight the Big Bad later.
I dunno. I feel like there are gonna be parallels there, eventually.

introducing the old undertale OC, Sculla!

she’s a semi-gorgoness who inhabits a pirate-themed minigolf course towards the bottom of Waterfall. The in-game encounter would be you ignoring a ‘closed for repairs’ sign, falling down and smashing one of her decorative statues. During the fight she would mostly make use of blue attacks, with the more of the snakes in her hair making eye contact the more blue in the attack square and therefore the less places you can move (due to the fact that her design is based on Medusa).
After pacifying her, she’ll invite you for a game of mini golf and take up residence as a shopkeeper.
You can buy the Golf Club, Eyepatch, and a couple of snack food items from her shop (eg Popato Chisps and Chips Ahoy). If you talk to her, you can learn that she set up the Ball course in Snowdin as a commission from an unnamed ‘minigolf enthusiast’, and the seven possible coloured flags you can receive are ‘all the traits you need to win a game of Minigolf’.
If you buy the Golf Club, you can play more games of Ball/Minigolf on some courses around the area to get some more G, and when you’re done, if you bring the club back to the store you can get a refund. If you keep it, it doesn’t have very high stats but it will make the ‘shield’ used during a green soul battle resemble the golf club.
If you buy the Eyepatch, it won’t have very high defense stats and equipping it will cover half of your screen.

It’s just a gag item. It will also cover half of every text box, or just *anything* on that side of the screen. You could unequip it, of course, but why would you want to?
anyway I made this character when I was 13 I think and new to my Undertale phase. I’ve been drawing her a lot lately though, so I figured I’d share.
Bonus edit if you’ve made it this far v
Jsyk King and Queen's ship name is CyberSpade
LMAO that makes more sense I was wondering how tagging anything along the lines of ‘kingqueen’ would even be possible djksk
You know it's so cool how compared to the Light World in Deltarune, the Dark World just leans so much more into the RPG style mechanics to the point of having the average Darkner be at least a little aware of meta mechanics, like telling you to 'Press [C] to open Inventory!' or whatever else (and having Susie, a Lightner always react like 'Huh? What are they talking about?'). and it's a really cool thing because it insinuates that the darker you get, the more RPG like the game gets, and the more meta it gets as well. but then it goes even DEEPER
When you think about the the hypothetical Depths, when you think about Gaster and his metanarrative ties to everything and how it's speculated that the Depths are where he is and you think about how he reached out to Spamton and Jevil and potentially told them about them being in a game, and all that neat stuff tying into that idea of the darker you get the more aware you are of the true (in the meta sense) nature of things (haha like The Dark Truth).
but even further still.
When you think about Dess' hypothetical disappearance, and how people speculate she's also lost somewhere in the Depths, and how people think that the goner code in the game files? The 'unused' code, the creepy few lines asking for help, asking if they're alone?
I find it kind of wild that it could be implied that the 'darker' something is, the deeper it plays into the idea of Deltarune as a game itself, and the darkest we've seen someone get is surpassing the game, the game within the game and the meta narrative within the game and going straight to the unused code in the literal files. It's definitely been said, but I'm just collecting my ideas here. I just think it's neat lol
