Inktober 2024 Day 6 - Trek

I’m rather proud of myself, so far I’ve found some time to sketch four days in a row! 😊

A quick 15 minute sketch for day six of Inktober, a trek in the mountains. Went back to black and white and default ink brushes for this one.

A Fantasy Landscape

Tried the ‘snow tree and stars’ tutorial from James Julier. It gives off a bit of a fantasy vibe 😊

Have to admit, I got slightly distracted towards the end and the snow dunes aren’t exactly perfect, but that’s okay, it’s the journey not the destination 😊

Inktober 2024 - Day 3 “Boots”

Temporarily interrupting my usual chronological posts with a bit of more ‘contemporary and time sensitive’ ones.

I’ve never participated in Inktober before, although I’d seen it mentioned here and there, granted I’ve never had an art blog before. Since I now have one, I thought why not try it out. I don’t think I’ll do all the prompts. It’ll mostly depend on the subject and my time, but let’s see if I can manage more than one 😁

Had 20 minutes to spare this morning so tried day 3, boots. Honestly, was a bit too tired to be very creative so I just went literal. Behold, a pair of old boots. I used the default ink brushes, since it’s ‘ink’tober 😁. Alternated between ink roll, dry ink and ink bleed. It’s actually a good excuse to try different brushes and techniques.

Window on a Brick Wall

Trying to do as many watercolour tutorials as I come across in the hope that the techniques start to stick 😊. This one is from Tatyworks.

I almost feel like it’s cheating a bit to use a brick brush rather than draw it all by hand, but then, why not take advantage of modern tools 😊.

Decided to experiment a bit with the different brushes. I used the same flower reference, but tried the Bardot Pastel brushes.
