Crazy idea:

What if I give the characters I write the character growth canon seems to give up on?

What if I give those characters both healthy and unhealthy ways to process trauma and emotion?

What if, instead of giving those characters one personality trait each, I give them so much personality that they change how they act depending on who they're around?

What if I give those characters responses to situations that are logical to their character, but not the situation, or vice versa?

What if I write those characters like they're human? (Or human adjacent)

Do I work here? Sometimes

Do I know where food is? No

Am I from around here? Not this city, no

Why am I here? Work

Why don't I know my way around? It's cute you think I'm told anything

Onto shift two!

Manager R pays for travel time if the shifts are close together, so that's nice (30 minutes between shift 1 and shift 2, and all of that was spent driving)

I got sunscreen in my eye, so the first thing I did when I got here was flush out my eye best I could and redo my make up. Then I changed.

Anyway, I don't really have interesting convos at this venue because it's too fast paced once it gets going.

I did cover my hands in lotion, though. I hate the feel of my hands after they've dried, and I loathe the feel of anything but cloth against freshly dried skin, but especially paper.

I'm crying!

My grandpa (mom's dad) has collected stuffed animals since before I can remember. He's got about 100 of them off the top of my head that he keeps in the basement (where he spends most of his time.

I've been adding rubber ducks to his collection because giving (specifically ducks) is a love language of mine.

Mom just got back from her parents' place and said that Grandpa was worried I wasn't feeling well lately, so he sent home one of his stuffed animals! It's a ducky!
