Succession is such a beautiful show, and many seem to have misunderstood the point of how it ended.

I mean, sure, it's disappointing that none of the siblings we were rooting for (*cough* Kendall *cough*) became Ceo, but it wouldn't have made sense for this to happen. The show is about the long term effects of generational trauma and how this trauma fucked up each sibling. Their whole lives they were in a way trained to absolutely despise each other, to trample on each other as much as possible to be "Logan's favourite." That would mean they were worthy of his time, and that would mean they would deserve to be the new Ceo. Unsurprisingly, 3 toxic leeches with issues in regards to mental health and attitude would not be a good fit for Ceo. Hence, Tom becoming the successor.

I mean, Tom always worked his ass off. He was still an asshole who bossed around those lower than him, but he knew how twisted each sibling was. Being married to one had its advantages. He knew just how to stay right under their noses before it was too late.

If one of the siblings had become Ceo, they would have never been as good as Logen. Kendall would have sinked back into addiction due to the stress and most likley kill himself, Roman has no idea what the fuck he is doing, plus his shenanigans, such as the dick pick to Geri, would have come to the surface and Shiv thinks she's "All that", which is why it was easy for Mattson to lie to her. Every single character sucks and that's why I love this show so much.
