Tawakami!Y/n: WTF WHO ARE YOU?!??-

A quick peak of a new clan I made up for Ao’nung’s fic
For easier visuals when reading
The deep sea clan:
Physically built:
Similar to the Metkayina, but rather slimmer in body and replaced with red odd patterns.
- smaller rib cage due to air not being so needed
-gills of sides of their necks
- a male will have a bigger buffer physic than the women in nature. Such for bigger built in arm muscles. This is by years of many warriors being male have run down into genes.
- a female will have a slimmer arm, rather helping them faster in water than the male but also a disadvantage to carry heavy things with 1 hand.
- in comparison to the reef people, their arms are much larger. Between fingers are a piece of skin attaching each finger together, for easy understanding, it is much like a duck’s feet.
- the palm of their hand is a smokey shade of red, going up to their fingers. Their fingers are quite longer than those of the reef. For an example in comparison, a 10 years old deep sea boy’s fingers can be as long as an 18 years old reef boy.
- they also seem to have a much larger and flatter tail.
- thicker third eye lids compared to the reef people. The third eye lid of the deep sea people can actually be so thick it covers the pupil of the eye making the Navi seem to have void eyes.
- due to living in dark, they are very sensitive to the light. For example, if they want to look up at the sun, they will have to use their third eye lid to avoid getting blind easily. Their skin can get dry and start to crack easily if left in the sun for more then an hour and a half, which is very painful to endure.
- odd red patterns roam each of the deep sea clan’s body. You can easily spot the round circle like shape with a dot in the center. The elders believe these are Eywa’s eyes helping since in the deep sea does not have that much light coming through
- siblings or a family will have similar patterns. Males patterns are much more tattoo like then the females. Females have more of a stripy wave patterns.
- they have a lot more freckles. Dots that glows are found all over the body of the Navi. For these peoples’ case, they are tad bit larger and is bigger in numbers. Helping the Navi to be recognized easily in the dark of the ocean
- they have very slimy skin due to living underwater most of their lives. It takes about 45 minutes for them to get rid of the sliminess if they are on land
Culture:
- they have houses built similar to the marui but a lot more privacy
- their main food are fishes (payoang), seaweed and different types of fruit underwater.
- people here also use different type of seaweeds to make clothes
-they use mostly Nawens and Süompaį for transportation. Nawens are like ilus, but are smaller in size and has 6 eyes instead of 4. Süompaįs are like Tsurak, for mostly warriors and high status people in the clan
- the Tsahik and Olo’eyktan plays a crucial role in keeping the clan together. Worship Eywa like many other Navi clans, they set Eywa then the Tsahik and Olo’eyktan.
- as in courting ritual. The men brings food every day for the women’s family to prove that he’s a good supplier. And bringing jewelry and flowers, fruits or clothes, weapons or what ever the father of the woman requires the man to prove his consistent loyalty and patience. And happiness to the woman if he truly loves her. Of course it is always up the woman to reject him or not
-in mating ritual. They are to dance, show off their swimming skills. Women are to be elegant and gentle, men are differ in work, a warrior must be strong and fast, a healer must be quick and smart, men who wants to impress their love even further might do all. For easy understanding, it is much like in how to train your dragon the hidden world when toothless try to dance with the light fury
- they don’t have sign language. Unless they have one that is dead or can’t talk, they can speak underwater, much like a mermaid.
- as weapons, they use a crafted shooting bow or a spear.
- taming a süompaį is like taming a Torak Makto. Very difficult.
- they have a ceremony for when a teen reaches 15. They can be recognized as an adult and start Olo’eyktan training.
- they mostly celebrate for when the hunting party comes back, the new Tsahik and Olo’eyktan’s reveal, wedding and child’s birth, the new year’s harvest or a new harvesting season.
- they don’t have tattoos like the reef.
- they have their own traditional dance, and ways to tell stories, myths.
- they a communal house to gather every week end for any announcement
- they are not that invested in healing for being underwater, the threat of human kind is not so high.
- not invested in healing doesn’t mean not invested in warriors training. The clan’s safety is still the top priority
- they are very isolated(no shit not any Navi have the strength to swim literally to the depths of the ocean)
- like reef people have tulkuns, they have Oipek. A whale like creature who about 10 times bigger than grown tulkuns.
A sneak peak of Ao’nung’s fic 🫶🫶 I will up date on drawings too. This one is just for fast, so bear my horrendous coloring
