When Blackbeard's crew arrives in Episode 4, Ed calls Izzy twice to come look at stuff.

Once with Buttons and Karl: "Izzy... Izzy, come here. They've got a bird guy."

And then again with Stede's 'knick-knacks and trinkets': "Izzy, look, look at this shit!"

So I suspect whenever Ed sees something that he thinks is cool or interesting, he immediately shows it to Izzy.

Can you imagine? It's a calm night on the Revenge, everyone's settled down for a good sleep except Buttons (who apparently never sleeps) and Izzy (who sustains on rage alone)

Several of the crew are almost asleep when the door that leads to the Captains' Quarters is kicked open by an ecstatic Edward.

He raises something above his head. Something cool and fun and interesting, maybe a ridiculously ornate bleeding bowl or a tobacco pipe shaped like a swan or a strange box that can play music.

He holds his prize over his head and, either ignoring or forgetting the dozing crew, shouts: "IZZY YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS FUCKING THING!!!"

And Izzy, with all the joy and enthusiasm of a man sentenced to the gallows, walks over to inspect it. He gives his captain a little thumbs up or a comment about 'oh yeah, ed, that's super cool, can I go back to my post now?'

And sometimes, Izzy will be legitimately impressed but he'll try to hide it.

And Stede thinks it's absolutely fascinating, when Izzy pretend to care about mermaid figurines or walking sticks with gold embellishments, so he begins to seek out any strange or interesting trinkets, just to catalogue Ed's, therefore Izzy's, reaction. He notes that Izzy's enthusiasm seems real when Ed shows him any kind of weaponry or musical item.

Then one day, Ed calls him into the Captain's Quarters and Izzy obliges because of course, he does. When he arrives, Ed pulls him to the couch and says, "Iz, you gotta fucking try this, it's amazing!!!"

And when Izzy goes to ask what exactly, because Ed's not holding anything, Stede presses a kiss into his shocked lips. When they pull apart, Edward's waiting for Izzy's reaction, barely contained glee on his face.

And Izzy says 'Yeah. Yeah, that's... That's pretty good. I guess.'

'You fucking guess?!' Edward exclaims, shocked. He quickly grabs Stede and pulls him into a bruising kiss. When he lets go, Edward turns to Izzy and says, 'Mate, maybe you did it wrong? Felt pretty good to me.'

'Yeah. I... Maybe we should try again?'

And Stede happily obliges, because of course he does.
