Sweet Pandemonium - Gally (The Maze Runner) Part 1 of 16
Become so obsessed with this boy recently ughh đ
(not my gif btw)
~~~~~~~~~~
Gally hated change.
Everyone knew this.
So, it wasnât too surprising that when the first girl in over two years got sent up in the Box, Gally didnât take it too well.
He thought it would change things drastically. And it did, in a way.
Of course, all the guys in the Glade were fascinated by the human, having no memories of interacting with girls before they got sent up in the Box.
It was overwhelming for you, to say the least. Having all these guys ogle at you just because they were curious. Having no memories was overwhelming obviously, not knowing anything except your name and that you were now trapped in a glorified prison.
It took awhile for you to get used to everything, like everyone else. Albyâs usual stern tone when explaining most things to Greenies softened at your expense, but you didnât know any better and just thought he was always nice.
It seemed that most of the Gladers tried their best to be overly nice to you. Even Gally tried not to be his usual douche self around you, albeit begrudgingly and not doing a very good job, but to the point where everyone else noticed his forced semi pleasant attitude around you.
Though Gally came to terms with a female being in the Glade eventually, he still went out of his way to avoid you at all costs. He didnât hate you, per say, but he wasnât in a hurry to be friends.
Of course, life had a way of screwing with people.
It just so happens that you were pretty good with your hands. So, when it came time to see if you were a Builder, you pretty much excelled in that area, much to Gallyâs dismay.
Gally warmed up to you pretty quickly after working together for a week or so. He realized that you followed orders better than any slinthead that was currently working with him. To say he appreciated it wouldâve been an understatement.
He still at you for any sliver of incompetence at any given moment.
You found yourself strangely attracted to his fiery personality. The Gladers didnât really think much of him looks wise, but you thought him to be more handsome than any of the other Gladers.
Despite being a pretty damn good Builder, you still found yourself distracted by the everchanging maze.
It wasnât like you wanted to be a Runner by any means, you pretty much thought the opposite. Building was definitely your calling, and you were content with the job. But just something about the maze, it almost felt like it was calling to you.
Every night, youâd have these horrible dreams. It was hard to place them whenever you woke up, but you remembered bits and pieces when you tried to think back on them hard enough.
It was strange to remember seeing Gally at one point. You remembered him in some sort of water, looking so scared. You happened to wake up crying after that dream, but thankfully no one seemed to notice, or care to notice.
The most prominent thing you took away from your dreams was one simple phrase that repeated over and over and over again.
âWicked is good.â
Sweet Pandemonium - Gally (The Maze Runner) Part 4 of 16
Oh god, Iâm growing attached to this relationship...
In other news, computer still dead and Iâm tired and idk how to feel about this chapter. Iâm slowing down lmao. But here it is anyway
~~~~~~~~~~

To say Gally was pissed that you went into the maze would be an understatement, even if you just went down the main corridor to help the boys get Alby inside the Glade.
Thankfully Gally didnât have time to scold you too much, because after making sure Alby was situated in the Med-jacks care, the Keepers called a meeting to discuss the whole situation.
This should be fun...
As always, it was a little tough corralling everyone into council hall. But after everyone settled into their seats, Gally stood up to speak first after glancing your way for a moment.
âThings are changing.â Gally started. âThereâs no denying that. First, Ben gets stung in broad daylight, and then Alby. And now our Greenie here has taken it upon himself to go into the maze. Which is a clear violation of our rules here.â
âYeah, but he saved Albyâs life.â Frypan voiced, some Gladers nodding into agreement.
âDid he?â He countered. âFor three years, we have coexisted with these things, and now youâve killed one of them.â He pointed at Thomas. âWho knows what that means for us?â
âWell, what do you suggest we do?â Newt asked calmly.
âHe has to be punished.â Gally said like it was the obvious action, making the whole room speak up with their disagreements, including you.
You scoffed. âYou think he should be punished because he tried to save his life?â
Gally glared at you. âHe still broke the rules.â
âSo I guess that means Y/N has to be punished too.â Minho voiced, gaining the attention of the other Gladers. âShe went into the maze.â
Gally rolled his eyes. âNot like that Greenie did.â
âRules are rules, right, Gally? Or are you suggesting Y/N should get special treatment cause sheâs a girl, or cause sheâs special to you?â
âMinho.â Newt interrupted, sighing in frustration. âYou were there with him. What do you think?â
Minho threw Gally a glare before sighing softly. âI think...in all the time weâve been here, no oneâs ever killed a Griever before. When I turned tail and ran, this dumb shank stood behind to help Alby. Look, I donât know if heâs brave or stupid...whatever it is, we need more of it. I say we make him a Runner.â
âA Runner? What? Minho, letâs not jump the gun here, alright?â Fry voiced, along with everyone else voicing their opinions, even Chuck trying to get a chant in Thomasâ favor going, but failing.
âIf you want to throw the newbie a parade, thatâs fine. Go ahead. But if there is one thing that I know about the maze, it is that you do not-â
A rumbling and sudden blaring horn interrupted Gally, echoing around the entire Glade and making your ears hurt. But you knew that noise, it was what you heard when you came up in the Box. But itâs not even close to a month yet. Nothing is supposed to be coming up yet. So, what the hell is happening?
Gally and Newt ran out, taking off toward the Box immediately, you and the rest of the Gladers following closely behind.
You quickly made it to the Box, standing beside Gally as he and Newt opened the doors.
âWhat the hell?â You whispered as everyone crowded around the Box, Thomas pushing his way to the front.
âItâs another girl.â Newt said, looking up to the group in confusion, and to you briefly. âI think sheâs dead...â
The girl was fair, long dark hair slightly covering her face. She was unconscious, but thankfully she was still breathing from what you could see. You looked to her hand, seeing that there was something she was clutching onto. âWhatâs in her hand?â
Newt leaned over and gently grabbed what was in her hand, a piece of paper. âSheâs the last one...ever.â Newt read, once again looking up in confusion.
The girl mumbled in her state, and you couldâve sworn you heard your name come from her mouth. âDid you hear-â
The girl gasped loudly, interrupting your question and causing everyone to jump in shock, her eyes opening wide. âThomas.â She panted, her eyes rolling to the back of her head and falling back into unconsciousness.
Everyone looked to Thomas, who looked just as in shock as all the other Gladers.
âY/N, help me bring her up, will ya?â Newt asked.
âWhy me?â
âWell, youâre...ya know...â You rolled your eyes, reluctantly hopping down into the Box and helping Newt carry the girl out and handing her over to the Med-jacks care. Thankfully, your arm was mostly healed from Benâs attack, well, the sprained part anyway. âWeâve got it from here, Y/N, thank you.â
You nodded, but you didnât leave. You stared at the girl, feeling a familiar feeling, almost like with Thomas. It was different, but the same. You felt a headache coming on just by trying to make sense of this feeling that you donât remember ever having, but you knew you had nonetheless.
âY/N?â Newt snapped you out of your trance.
âUh, sorry. Iâll leave now.â
You left the room in a hurry, almost running into Thomas and Minho in the process. âYou good?â Minho asked.
âYeah, yeah. Just feeling a little headache.â You smiled weakly.
Thomas gave you a look, and you knew he wasnât buying it. But you had a feeling he didnât have the time to call you out so you pushed past them and headed to the watering station.
You just needed water, that was probably it. Youâll be fine once you have some water.
You sighed in relief once you took some gulps of the water from the faucet. It wasnât cold, but it still felt nice. Your headache didnât go away unfortunately.
When you saw Gally walking over to you, part of you just wanted to leave. But knowing him, he probably wouldnât let you leave so easily without talking to him. You turned around to lean against the makeshift sink, tapping your foot impatiently as you prepared yourself for a probable exhausting conversation.
âHey.â
âHey.â You huffed.
âGet the girl to the Med-jacks okay?â
âYep.â
âWhat happened to your thumb?â
You lifted your hand up to your face, looking over your thumb. The peeled off skin had already scarred over. It didnât hurt when you didnât think about it, but now that Gally pointed it out, you felt the pulsing throbs of pain from the little wound.
âIrrelevant. What do you want?â You asked, briefly sucking on your thumb to try and ease the pain.
âWhat the hell is up with you, huh? Iâm the one whoâs supposed to be mad at you.â Gally huffed.
âYou kept trying to make me believe that Thomas and Minho were already dead, Gally. You didnât even try to think anything else.â You crossed your arms.
A tense pause before Gally spoke again.
âThat was a really stupid thing you did today, you know. Going into the maze.â
You rolled your eyes. âI barely went five feet.â
âMinho was right.â Gally sighed. âI canât give you special treatment. Youâll have to be punished along with the Greenie.â
âI wouldnât need or want special treatment anyway, especially from you.â
Gally chuckled bitterly. âJust yesterday you told me you liked me, and now youâre acting like you hate me. God, if that girl acts anything like you-â
âWhat, huh?â You interrupted harshly.
One of the Builders came running up to you and Gally, panting in exhaustion when he finally reached you. âWhat is it?â
âThat Greenie and a bunch of other Gladers ran into the maze.â
You quickly snapped your head towards your fellow Builder. âWhat?â You yelped. âWhen?â
âJust a few minutes ago.â
Gallyâs face quickly contorted in anger, shaking his head before storming off. âWhere are you going?â You asked, struggling to keep up with his long legs.
âFinding Newt. If that Greenie comes back alive, thereâs no way heâs not gonna be punished now.â
It was hard to argue with Gally when he set his mind to something, especially when itâs about something that he was probably right about. There was no argument that you couldâve made that would help Thomas, the boy really just loved looking for trouble.
You stopped following after Gally, and went to find Chuck to see him already at the maze doors. âGallyâs on a warpath.â
âWhat do you mean?â Chuck stuttered, startled by your sudden presence beside him and looking around nervously.
âThomas went into the maze again, but you already know that, donât you.â You smirked, causing Chuck to blush. âGally found out about it. Make sure he knows when he gets back, okay, bud?â
Chuck quickly nodded, nervously smiling as you ruffled his curly hair.
When they got back, you stood outside council hall. You werenât allowed in the meeting, since it was Keepers only. But you paced back and forth, trying not to bite the same thumb that you did this morning.
You really had to work on your nervous tics.
You looked up expectantly when you heard the buildingâs doors open, an angry looking Gally storming out and walking past you. âWait, what happened?â You asked, jogging to keep up with his pace.
âNewt made that shank a Runner.â
You were speechless. A Runner? You didnât think Thomas would get appointed with such a job so early on. âThatâs it?â
Gally suddenly stopped in his tracks, causing you to almost trip and fall when you tried to stop mid jog. âWhy are you talking to me, huh? If you hate me, shouldnât you be ignoring me?â He said, glaring at you as he spoke.
âI never said I hated you. Donât be so dramatic.â
Gally scoffed. âIâm being dramatic? Yeah, right.â He started to walk again, but you got in his way.
âGally, wait.â Gally stopped, even though he couldâve easily moved you out of the way. âHey, Iâm sorry, okay? I donât hate you. I donât. I was mad at you, is all.â You looked down nervously from his intense gaze.
Gally sighed softly, gently bringing you into a hug, tender much like the one he gave you yesterday. âIâm sorry too. I didnât want to hurt your feelings or anything.â
âItâs okay.â You smiled weakly. âSo, what was the verdict?â
Gally scratched the back of his neck and bit his lip nervously. âUh, well, a night in the Pit with no food or water.â
âFor him?â
âFor both of you.â You closed your eyes and nodded, you werenât really surprised. âI wouldâve tried to lessen your punishment if we had made up earlier.â
You shook your head and smiled. âItâs alright, Gal. I can handle the Pit. Itâs not like I havenât spent a couple nights there anyway.â
Gally grinned and chuckled, starting to walk to the Builderâs area right beside you, making sure that you could keep up with him. âRight, right, I remember. You certainly taught Winston to never catcall you ever again. Poor shank couldnât even walk right for days after you kicked him.â
âShouldnât have commented on my tits.â You shrugged, smirking slightly as you remembered Gallyâs laugh when it happened.
âIt was pretty badass, in my opinion.â Gally playfully knocked himself against you.
âAlby didnât seem to think so.â
âYou shouldnât have been punished for that. Even I thought it was stupid.â
âThanks, Captain.â You smiled softly, the smile itching to grow wider when Gallyâs face flushed red.
âThe girlâs awake!â
You and Gally both turned to see all the Gladers surrounding the watch tower, all ducking the various rocks that were being thrown off. âThatâs probably not good...â You mumbled, taking off with Gally towards the commotion.
As soon as you both got to the base of the tower, it didnât even take a minute before Gally got frustrated with the girl. But you were more frustrated even more by all the boys that seemed to be having fun. You understood how the girl was feeling after all.
âGuys, maybe we should give her some space!â You tried yelling over the ruckus, to no avail.
Not really a surprise there.
Seeing Newt in the crowd, you walked up to him while trying to dodge the rocks in the process. âI donât think she likes us very much.â He chuckled when he noticed you next to him.
âWell no wonder, sheâs probably terrified. You guys arenât even giving her time to adjust here.â
âWe just wanna know why sheâs here, thatâs all! I didnât think being curious was a crime!â Fry voiced.
âItâs not! But weâll have to ask her when sheâs ready.â You insisted, then yelping in pain when a rock landed on top of your head. âOw...â
âThrow one more of those things!â Gally yelled, quickly being interrupted by a rock landing on his head. You tried not to laugh at the comedic timing...
Thankfully, the Med-jacks brought Thomas back from wherever he was and you quickly ran to him. âGo on and talk to her, Greenie.â
âWhat? Why me?â
âShe said your name, Thomas. Out of all the guys here, youâll be the one she talks to...probably.â
âNot to butt in,â Jeff voiced from beside you, âbut she was saying your name in her sleep too.â
âUh, what?â
~~~~~~~~~~
can u do a headcanon about playing among us with Levi lol I thought it would be really funny
Oh my god, I love that idea so much. Thank you, Anon. Hope you enjoyđ
~~~~~~~~~~
When you first suggested it, Levi immediately said no.
You knew Levi never played video games, but you had so much fun playing that you wanted to share it with him.
After weeks and weeks of begging, Levi finally agreed to play ONE game session. But you had to promise to make it up to him.
You got all the brats (and Hange) together to play this special game, and they were all excited to see how annoyed Levi got...mostly excited to âkill himâ if one of them got Imposter.
After initially getting over Levi already being annoyed by technology and explaining how Among Us worked, it was finally time for the first game.
Levi slightly raised his eyebrows when he saw the big red bold letters appear at the top of the screen that read âImposter.â But he tried not to give it away as you were just on the other side of the room.
Levi wasnât stupid, he pretty much grasped the concept, but he found himself getting a little nervous. He didnât want to play this game already, so it was pretty bad luck to get Imposter the first time ever playing.
Deep down, Levi really wanted to impress you. So, he grit his teeth and told himself to try his best...even if he thought it was stupid.
The game started and Levi finally realized his fellow Imposter was Hange...great.
Heâd never even saw how she played as Imposter, but he already got the feeling that she wouldnât be great at it.
Since Levi had never played as Crewmate, it was pretty obvious to you that he was faking tasks. You found it adorable though, but he decided to stay silent about it.
Even though he was Imposter, Levi pretty much followed you and Eren around.
You three were in Electrical when the lights suddenly went out, but since you were right there you went to fix them. When you went back up to the top of the room, you saw the bottom half of Erenâs dark green body.
You thought about reporting for a minute, knowing you could get Levi out easily, but you decided against it.
Until Mikasa came in and reported immediately.
âY/N killed Eren in Electrical! She was standing over the body!â Mikasa shouted.
âWhat?! No! I found the body!â You shouted back.
âWhy didnât you report it then? You killed Eren.â She insisted, eliciting a frustrated groan from you.
âSus.â Jean said, everyone else agreeing.
You couldâve easily targeted Levi, but you wanted him to have a chance. âUgh, fine! If you donât believe me, then vote me out. But I swear, itâs not me.â
âMaybe we should listen to her.â Levi said.
âYouâre biased. Vote her out!â Jean pushed, quickly casting his vote.
Everyone but Levi voted for you while you just skipped. You cringed, knowing he shouldâve just voted for you. âUh, Levi...?â
You faked cried into your mic as your little cyan body floated off into space.
As a ghost, you followed Levi and Hange around, completely ignoring the rest of you tasks. Apparently, Eren wanted to watch too.
You giggled quietly as Hange teased Armin by standing over a vent, hopping in and out then killing him.
Levi walked around the ship, his hand twitching over the kill button and smirking as he found who he was looking for.
You gasped as he killed Mikasa in front of Hange and Jean, knowing that was an awful move.
âItâs Levi! Itâs Levi!â Jean yelled, definitely peaking his audio.
âUh, yeah.â Hange said, having no choice. âHe killed Mikasa in front of us in Nav.â
You heard Levi tsk into his mic. âShe got Y/N killed, the little brat.â
âHe just admitted it!â Jean yelled, peaking his mic yet again. âVote him!â
âShe deserved it.â Levi said bluntly.
It didnât take long to find the other Imposter, Hangeâs play style being extremely sloppy.
âOh, what a shame to get Imposter the first time playing.â You laughed.
âYeah, sorry Levi.â Jean laughed, clearly not sorry.
âIâm not. He killed Eren.â Mikasa said.
âYou blamed me for it, Mika!â You yelled.
Thankfully, Levi didnât get Imposter anymore after that.
He was surprisingly really good at susing the right people in the game, and most of the games were won by the Crewmates due to his good detective skills.
After everyone hopped off the discord call, you walked over to Levi with a hopeful smile on your face. âWell?â
Levi sighed, âI had...fun.â
You squealing happily, making Levi roll his eyes. âAlright, alright, brat.â
âIt really sucks getting Imposter without getting Crew beforehand.â
âI liked being Imposter, even if I didnât really know how to play properly.â
âYou just liked killing Eren and Mikasa.â
â...yes.â Â

My sister said that Mark is such a princess (referencing "Del Monte Is Dead To Me), and she couldn't be more rightđ
Tate Langdon - American Horror Story
Wrote this a long time ago. My original plan back then was so make this into a multiple chapter story, but then I ultimately lost interest like all my other failed projects. đ
I also didnât know how to fucking end this story, sorryyy ughhhh
âTrigger warningâ

~~~~~~~~~~
Welp, I am dead.
Like, super dead.
One minute Iâm slitting my wrists wide open in my bathroom and now Iâm standing over my body watching myself decay.
I never thought Iâd become a ghost or whatever I am. I didnât even believe in the afterlife. I thought Iâd just die and that would be it. I wouldnât feel anything, itâd be peaceful. I was definitely wrong.
I moved into this big mansion in California with my parents. I didnât want to die, I just thought it was my only way out. Now, Iâm stuck here. Great. I really screwed the pooch this time.
After my parents found me rotting away, they decided to move away to have a fresh new start. Not that I blame them. But I was kinda pissed they just left me here, unable to step one foot off this property except for Halloween.
If Iâm being completely honest, itâs not that terrible. Iâm not alone. Turns out, many people have died here. Violently, which is fun.
Thereâs a woman that lives here who is kinda crazy, but sheâs nice. She treats me better than my own mother did. She wishes I was a baby though, cause her baby is all kinds of fucked up.
Thereâs an elderly woman here too, who I found out was actually dead and lived here. When I was alive, she was our maid and constantly tried to seduce my father, which I reluctantly forgave her for that.
That weird neighbour, Constance, always visits here, since she has multiple children who have died here as well. Iâve yet to meet her eldest, Tate. To be honest, I donât think I want to meet him. Iâve seen him wander around the halls but Iâve never shown myself around him. Mrs. Montgomery says heâs just misunderstood, but shooting up a school is a little too much for me.
I hang out with his brother sometimes, and by hanging out I mean basically rolling a ball back and forth. It makes him somewhat happy though, I guess. I know one of these days Iâm going to run into him, I just hope itâs later rather than sooner.
~~~
Today, that real estate agent bitch is trying to sell this house, yet again. Only for the owners to be killed and get stuck here for all eternity. Anyone in their right mind would not buy this house, especially knowing what took place here.
I watch the family interested in buying the house from my old bedroom. They look like a relatively normal family. A mom, dad, and their angsty teenage daughter and a cute pet dog.
Yeah, they definitely wouldnât survive living here.
âSpying on the new folks, I see?â
âJesus! You scared me!â I turn to see Tate. Oh boy, this should be fun.
âY/N L/N. How lovely to finally meet you. I never got the chance to introduce myself when you first moved here cause you see, you killed yourself before I even got the chance. Which was kind of rude on your part.â He smirked. âYour death was very entertaining, I must say. All that blood gushing everywhere, man, it was quite the spectacle.â
âGlad you found my death so entertaining, Tate. Iâm sure yours was too.â I smile sweetly, making his smug grin quickly turn into a glare.
âAnyway,â he coughed, âbetter introduce myself to the new folks soon.â
âBut...youâre dead.â
âWell, they donât need to know that.â He walked over to the window where I saw. âThat girlâs kinda hot, wouldnât you say?â He smirked. âDonât worry though, I find you even prettier.â
I scoffed and kept looking out the window. The teenage girl looked over towards the window. I quickly hid myself from her sight but Tate didnât until she did a double take.
I gave him confused look. âWhat? Itâs fun to play with peopleâs minds from time to time. You should try it sometime. Stop being a stick in the mud.â He said and walked away.
I can already tell heâs going to be so annoying.
I decided to take a closer look at the new comers. Tate was right though, that girl is pretty. I listened in on their conversation and I learned their names. Ben, Vivian, and Violet. All nice names, nice innocent names. They seem like nice people, sucks that theyâll die when they move in.
A few hours, Adelaide sneaks into the house. She always finds a way in here. She waves and smiles at me when she walks past, I still donât know how sheâs able to see me when Iâm not visible to anyone, not that I mind cause I love her like a sister. She walks up behind Vivian, âYouâre going to die in here.â
Sheâs never been one to know how to start a conversation.
~~~
I learned that Ben was a psychiatrist and Tate had an appointment with him today. He seems to be really determined to get to know these people, especially Violet. I thought about listening in, but that seemed too much. I just wandered the halls until I reached the bathroom. Violet hurts herself?
I hear footsteps and quickly sped off down the hall and hid behind a corridor, it was Tate. âYouâre doing it wrong. If you wanna kill yourself, you should cut vertically. The doctors canât stitch that up.â I hear him say.
What the hell? Why would he say that?
He closed the door and walked off. I shook my head and went up to the attic, my usual hang out spot.
I sat in the corner, I looked up and saw that the creepy rubber costume wasnât there anymore. Thank god, that thing creeped me out to no end.
A red ball rolls to me, and I sigh. âIâm not in the mood, Beau.â I roll it back and it stays.
The attic door opens and Tate pops his head in, he sees me and smiles. âSo, this is where you hang out? Good to know.â He says.
âWhy? So you can annoy me better?â I say.
âAw, donât be like that. We should be friends.â
I laugh. âYeah, right.â
Tate simple smirked and sat down beside me. âCome on. Weâd make awesome...friends.â
I quickly scowled at him. âWhy would you say that to Violet by the way? She could actually be convinced to do that, you know.â
âOh, I was just trying to get another girl so we could have an afterlife threesome. Doesnât that sound great?â
âGet outta here.â
Tate rolled his eyes, blowing me a kiss as he opened up attic door and descended the ladder.Â
I scoff. This kid really is crazy, maybe itâs a good thing that heâs seeing Dr. Harmon. Tate climbed down the ladder and the attic door closed with a loud slam.
The red ball rolls to me.
~~~
Tate is hanging out with Violet on her room. Iâm not stalking him! I just wanna make sure he doesnât kill her. âTate. What are you doing here? You need to leave now.â Ben says. Violet tries to calm her dad, but he insisted on him leaving.
âJust trying to be friends with your friendless daughter, Benâ Tate says. I roll my eyes and leave the hallway, accidently bumping into the kid. âWoah there. Aw, is someone spying on me?â He smirked.
I scoff. âAs if.â Tate had a playful twinkle in his eyes, making me feel more nervous in his presence. âJust making sure you donât murder that girl.â
âMe? Murdering someone? Nah.â He joked, but when he saw that I wasnât joking, he dropped his smile. âLook, my murdering days are behind me, okay? I donât want to hurt anyone anymore. I promise.â
âIâll make sure to hold you to that, pretty boy.â
âAw, you think Iâm pretty?â
âDonât push me.â I scowled, Tate fake saluting me before I started to walk off. I gasped when I suddenly felt Tate turn me around so he could plant a kiss on my cheek. âWhat the hell?â I stuttered.
Tate simply shrugged and smiled. âYou just look very kissable.â

Everything started to spiral out of control when a new Greenie came up in the Box, Thomas.
You didnât know him, but you felt connected to him somehow. Why? You had no clue. Itâs almost driving you crazy that you canât place why you felt this way, and if you were being honest, it almost scared you.
Thomas felt this way as well. He felt that same type of connection to you. He never spoke of it for the sake of him sounding crazy, well, even more crazy than everyone else already thought him to be.
All it took was a simple glance in each otherâs direction to realize you and Thomas felt the same way about each other.
âY/N!â
Gallyâs irritated tone snapped you out of your daze. âSorry, what?â
Gally rolled his eyes. âThatâs the third time youâve dozed off today. Get it together, will ya? This shack needs to be built and I donât feel like getting scolded by Alby because you didnât do your part.â
You tried not to blush as the rest of the Builders looked at you with amusement, probably glad that theyâre not getting yelled at for once.
Gally noticed your eyes traveling to the other Builders and huffed. âGet back to work, you shanks!â
You almost couldâve laughed at how fast they went back to work because they were pretty much scared of the boy.
âWhatâs up with you today, huh?â Gally asked, surprising you with his slightly softer tone.
You sighed, biting your lip in thought. âI donât know. I guess itâs just one of those days.â You lied, partly. You truly didnât know why you felt the way that you did, but had a feeling it was because of the new Greenie. But you didnât need Gally to know that, especially after heâs expressed so many times about how he didnât like Thomas.
Yeah...he didnât need to know.
Gally raised his brow, clearly not buying her reasoning, but he decided not to push it. âWell, just, get back to work, okay?â
âFor sure, Captain.â You fake saluted, a teasing smile tugging at the corners of your mouth.
Gally rolled his eyes as he shook his head, struggling to hide a smile. âShut up. Just get building.â
You sighed as you sat down in your hammock in the Homestead, relieved to have finished that new shack for the Slicers by sundown. After that talk with Gally, you made sure to focus extra hard and you managed to do more work than you thought you were capable of.
Your muscles ached badly. You needed a shower asap.
You tried not to scream when you bumped into a Glader, realizing it was just Thomas. âOh, hey, Greenie.â You chuckled breathlessly.
Thomasâ face visibly from relaxed to one of irritation. âI have a name, you know.â
âRight. Right. Sorry. Guess Iâm just happy that Iâm not the one being called that anymore.â You chuckled, clearing your throat seconds after. âI was just heading to the showers so...â
Thomas blinked rapidly, quickly moving out of your way with a slight blush dusting his face. âUh, Y/N?â He voiced, causing you to look back up to him with a smile. You noticed Thomasâ face contorting in thought. âUh, sorry. Never mind.â
Before you could say anything, Thomas walked off in a hurry, causing you to tilt your head in confusion. But the aching muscles in your arms and legs begging for the coldness of the shower water caused you to shrug it off quicker than you normally would.
You tossed and turned that night, which was unusual as you normally were able to fall asleep in a matter of minutes.
You felt like you woke up as soon as you fell asleep, the opening of the maze doors woke you from a less than pleasant dream. Yet again, the dream you had left your memory as soon as it appeared. The one thing attaching itself to you from the dream was a face. Thomasâ face.
You groaned as the rest of the Gladers started to get up for the day, knowing that you mustâve gotten an hour of sleep, if even that. You just accepted that it was probably going to be a shit day.
The Builders didnât have much to do surprisingly, only needing to touch up a few things. But you absolutely didnât mind the shorter work day, having the night that you had made it difficult to focus on anything. Even Gallyâs pretty face.
Still, you didnât want to be a useless shank. So, against your better judgement, you decided to help out Newt, Zart, and Thomas in the gardens.
You were tired as hell, but you wanted to talk to Thomas eventually, and befriending him felt like the best way to go about doing so. Plus, Newt was an absolute delight to be around.
âEyo, Y/N.â Newt smiled, âGally finally given ya a break?â
You laughed softly. âNah, just a smaller work load today.â
Newt nodded. âBecause you work so hard, no doubt. Things are gettinâ built a lot faster ever since you came up, love.â
You rolled your eyes playfully and grabbed a little basket to help pick off some ripe fruit. âIâm just good at following orders, if thatâs something to be proud of.â
Newt chuckled. âYou give about as many orders as Gally does nowadays. If anything, you seem to be partners.â
You knew Newt probably didnât realize his phrasing, but it still made you blush nonetheless. âGallyâs an asshole.â Thomas muttered out.
You tried not to laugh loudly. âHe has his moments, for sure.â
âGallyâs an alright bloke, he just has issues with change. Heâll warm up to ya eventually. He even avoided Y/N the first week and a half she got here. Itâs just how he is.â Newt said.
âYou seem close with him now.â Thomas said, looking at you.
You shrugged. âUh, Iâd say weâre friendly. Well, I guess my definition of friendly anyway.â
âDo us a favor, get us some more fertilizer.â Newt asked Thomas.
âUh, sure. Where is it again?â
âShow him, will ya, Y/N?â Newt asked.
âYeah, sure.â You nodded. âLetâs go, Greenie.â
âYou really think Gallyâ alright?â Thomas asked once you both got a few meters into the woods.
âYeah, I think so. Like Newt said, heâs just scared of change. I think itâs understandable when you live in a box that you can never leave, unless you wanna get horrifically murdered by Grievers.â
âWhen you put it like that, then yeah. I guess change would be pretty scary.â Thomas paused, âI just, I donât understand how you guys have been here for three years without making any progress.â
âYouâre acting like itâs easy, Thomas. Iâm no Runner, but I can tell how hard it is to run a changing maze every single day, having to map it, fearing for your life in the process.â
Thomas stayed silent after that, only speaking up when you both passed the Deadheads. âWho was George?â He asked.
You shrugged. âI wasnât around when he died. He was the first one to get stung by a Griever from what Newt told me...he wasnât too eager to talk about him anymore after that.â
âY/N?â Thomas started, âI donât really know how else to put this without sounding crazy but...I feel like I know you from somewhere. I know how it sound but-â
The look on you face stopped Thomas from speaking any further. You couldnât even describe how you were feeling. Almost like relief, but fear, all meshed together in some sort of weird understanding. âYou feel that way too?â
A sudden snap of a twig caused the moment between you and Thomas to end abruptly, you both twisting around to see another Glader. âBen?â Thomas asked.
You eyed the Glader up and down, noticing how frightening he looked. Black and purple veins protruding out all over his body. His eyes red, almost bloodshot. His heavy threatening gaze on you and Thomas.
He had been stung.
You never saw how anyone looked after being stung, not really. You imagined horrible things, things more horrible than how Ben looked now. But seeing him like that disturbed you to no end.
âBen...â You said slowly. âAre you okay?â
Ben grunted in response, looking in between you and Thomas like he couldnât decide who to look at. âYou did this.â He whispered harshly.
You brows furrowed in confusion. âWhat? What do you mean?â
âYou did this.â Ben raised his voice. âI saw you. Both of you! This is your fault!â
You gasped when Ben suddenly charged at you and Thomas. All the breath being knocked out of your lungs when he body slammed you into the ground.
You and Ben struggled on the floor, him quickly gaining the upper hand and placing his hands firmly on you throat. âGet off her, man!â Thomas yelled, tackling Ben off of your smaller body.
You coughed violently, gasping for oxygen as the pressure on your windpipe finally disappeared as Thomas saved you from being choked to death.
You looked around to see Thomas hit the infected Glader with an animal skull just in time, him quickly pushing a now disoriented Ben off of him and soon helping you to your feet. âGo, go!â Thomas yelled in your ear.
You didnât have to be told twice.
You and Thomas took off in a sprint, adrenaline pumping through your veins as you feared of being caught by the fellow Glade member. The confusion taking a hold of your mind as you ran, still having no idea why Ben seemed so hateful towards you and Thomas.
Thankfully, you didnât have to think about it anymore. Ben ultimately catching up to you both due to his Runner status and tackling you and Thomas down a hill.
You groaned in pain, feeling your body topple over and landing on your arm painfully.
Thomas, yet again, helped you get to your feet, making sure you didnât get left behind. You yelped in pain as he grabbed your now aching arm, pulling you along as he yelled for help as loud as he could.
You almost felt relieved when you saw the Gladers running to your aid, but it was short lived.
Ben grabbed your bad arm and pulled you back, making you fall on your back, but he still went after Thomas first. âHey!â Newtâs voice filled the air, then a sickening thump, Ben immediately falling to the ground.
Newt quickly ordered the Gladers to hold down the struggling boy, Thomas quickly rushing over to you. âOh shit, are you okay?â
You nodded, sitting up with a painful groan. You looked down at your arm to see it bruised and bloody, short jagged cuts deep in her skin.
Ben screamed bloody murder over and over again, so loud and animalistic that it even your throat hurt, even though it already hurt from being choked before.
After being taken to the other Med-jacks, it didnât take for Gally to barge into the room, an almost angry look on his face. âHowâs Ben?â You asked.
Gally couldâve scoffed at the question. Obviously Ben wasnât okay, but you asking about him first was the reason he couldâve thrown a fit. He had seen you at the scene, wanting so badly to go to your aid first, but he needed to help the Gladers get Ben to the Pit. âSeriously? How are you? You were hurt.â
âSheâs fine.â Jeff answered for you. âA sprain, and some marks from Benâs nails.â
Gally wouldâve sighed in relief, if Thomas wasnât there too. âWhy were you even with that shank anyway?â He asked, acting like Thomas wasnât even there.
âWhat? Just because you donât like him, that means I canât hang out with him?â You sassed.
Gally glared at you and Thomas. âBenâs gonna get banished at sundown. Do me a favor and stay away until itâs over.â
You rolled your eyes as Gally exited the room, trying not to cry at the thought of a Glader getting sent to their death. âWhat, banished?â Thomas asked you.
You closed your eyes with a heavy sigh. âYou know thereâs cure for getting stung...it would be too dangerous to keep him here.â
Thomas quickly left the room, probably leaving to see what was going to happen to poor Ben.
At first, when Gally told you to keep away from the banishment, it just made you want to go just to spite him. But you had seen a banishment before, and it was horrible. It still haunted your dreams sometimes. You really didnât feel like reliving that again, so you listened.
That, of course, didnât stop you from finding Gally after the fact.
âHey...â You said softly, running up to Gally to walk with him to the wall of names.
Gally didnât say anything, he just kept his gaze ahead of him. You knew he was hurting. Ben was his friend after all. You looked down at his hand that wasnât carrying a torch, and your hand twitched forward, gently grabbing his large hand.
You could sense that Gally tensed at first, but he didnât pull away. Instead, he squeezed you hand, letting you know it was okay.
âHold this please.â Gally said, barely a whisper, handing over his torch to you.
You held the torch up as Gally reached up, placing his chisel at Benâs name to cross his name out.
Another day, another death.
âIâm sorry, Gally.â You whispered, placing a gentle hand on his board shoulder.
Gally simply nodded, giving you a weak smile as he walked away, leaving you at the wall with only the torch as your light in the growing darkness.
