I know Tumblr loves a good misogyny story so here's what happened to my mom the other day:

For context, her dad is a car mechanic who has been building custom hot rods for decades and has gifted her one that used to belong to her mother who passed away

Anyways, this car is super old and finicky so it requires regular maintenance. The other day, my mom tried starting it up and realized it needed a new battery. She took my dad with her to help carry the car battery back from the auto parts store. When they get there, the man helping them only speaks to my dad. He asks my dad all of the questions and even says "You've probably spent more time under the hood, am I right?"

To which my dad says "No, it's my wife's car". DESPITE THIS, the man continues to speak only to my dad, ignoring my mom the entire time. It ended up being a waste of time because the store didn't have the battery my mom needed and she left feeling pissed.

It's ABSURD that even after being told that my mom was the one who knew everything about the car, this idiot kept speaking only to my dad. My mom is mature enough to roll her eyes and move on but seriously. What the fuck.
