You know what's crazy to me? On average rapists get 5 years of prison time but the Arkansas abortion law would make it where if a medical professional gave a women an abortion if she was not in medical danger, even if she was raped or just god damn wanted one because that should be her fucking right, they would face 10 years of prison time. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.
We shouldn't only get involved in fights that directly affect us -we should fight for everything we believe in. I know it can sometimes be a lot. Not all communities even want help from 'outsiders'. But we have to stick together. 'Cause for everything that's different about us, there's something in common for everyone.
How can we expect ALL people to make changes for our closest causes, if we're not ready to step up out of our lane even a little bit for theirs? So today I speak for everything I see is wrong in this world. And you should too.

Be a Lilith FOR the Eves.
Theres a certain phrase going around: "Be a Lilith, not an Eve."
I hate it. It's a goth version of a "pick me" phrase.
So many women are born and raised into thinking they can't be anything more than an Eve. We all know the abuse and brainwashing that goes into such a mindset.
If one claims themselves to be a feminist or a fighter of women's rights, an advocate for abused women. Then this phrase should send anger rippling through you. Do not scoff, or side eye someone you see as an Eve. We've seen too much of that.
We need to be a Lilith for the Eve. To show them they can be more if they want to.

Iyad's daughter is very sick. There are cases of polio, chicken pox, monkey pox, and several other diseases spreading throughout Gaza right now. Young children and elderly people are the ones most at risk but with starvation and lack of clean drinking water and the general unsanitary situation, anyone can become sick very easily. And with a family of 10 including 2 elderly people and several small children, Iyad has a lot to worry about.
They NEED this money both to save up for evacuation and for daily expenses like for food, water, shelter, and medicine (especially after they lost 11k due to GFM deleting their previous fundraiser which you can read about here). Everything is currently very expensive in Gaza and they were displaced yet again recently. Iyad often can't even aquire medicine for his blood pressure which tends to spike unpredictably. I CANNOT EMPHASIZE HOW URGENT THIS IS.
Iyad's previous fundraiser is #177/173 on the Vetted Gaza Fundraisers Spreadsheet and was vetted by nabulsi here. We are still waiting for it to get updated to his current P*yP*l.

i follow a lot of social media activists and political commentary pages but what doesnt sit right with me is that hardly anyone is talking about whats happening to afghan women.
little girls are being married off to older men. they are being raped and forced to give birth. they cannot go to school. they cannot see a doctor. they cannot speak in public. women who speak out in protest are tortured or killed.

i think there's something really sad and also really scary about coming to terms with the fact that my future is not going to be about succeeding in my career, finding love, and moving to a big city because in reality nothing will be waiting for me. i am going to be a climate refugee stuck in poverty and isolation.
religion, parental abuse and patriarchy stole my childhood and youth from me. now, capitalism has stolen my future from me. i'm being told not to despair, but im sorry. its too late. and im not forgiving the ones who did this. if hell is real, i hope you rot there.

How many of us will continue to be blind?
Are women and these young girls really free from their sorrows? Their bodies are already covered, but they still can't decide over their own bodies. Voices that used to ring like bells are now forced to be silent beneath the veils. They said it's for protection, but why are they still in danger? They already covered their faces, but you could still see the desperation in their eyes to be free. Their fingers, which once held pens and papers, were now trembling from fear and full of callouses.
Afghan women are fierce and proud. They will continue to stand, but the world chooses to ignore.
