Cedlock As Uncles, Headcanon
Cedlock as uncles, Headcanon
(This post is entirely a rambling of mine about my little imaginary Cedric and Greykock being a couple, so if you don't care about the ship, skip the post.)
Alright, I have a series of headcanons about the family dynamic of Calista, Cordelia, and Cedric if Cedric and Greylock were a couple (meaning both would be Calista's uncles). What do you call that? Ship-headcanon? Even though the ship isnât, unfortunately, real?
For this, imagine that at some point after the end of the series, Greylock and Cedric meet again, resolve their issues (and all that complicated matter with the Order of the Wand and Rudistan), and become a couple.
Greylock eventually moves in with Cedric in Enchancia because, well, he wants to be with him. They become a little family along with their nieces: Calista and Sofia (Sofia declared herself as their adoptive niece and didnât take no for an answer).
When Calista is visiting the castle, Greylock and Cedric play with her, and, secretly from Cedric, Greylock teaches Calista some spells for pranks.
Quickly, Calista develops a taste for pranks like her uncle (harmless ones, of course), which gets on Cedricâs nerves.
When Calista enters her teenage years, she starts to have a slight conflict with her personal style because she finds that, unlike what Cordelia would prefer, she doesnât really like the dresses and elaborate headpieces she is expected to wear.
Cordelia doesnât insist on changing her mind because she understands, somewhat reluctantly, that Calista doesnât share her love for fashion. However, she notices that Calista feels a bit insecure about the matter, so she asks her uncles to talk to her.
Cedric tells Calista that itâs okay if she wants to wear something simpler along with her wizard robe. Greylock, supporting Cedric, advises Calista to wear whatever makes her feel comfortable and like herself, without worrying if it might be a bit unconventional. (Greylock uses himself as an example, who, now free from King Magnusâs control, has started dressing even more, in Cedricâs opinion, extravagantly).
Calista feels better and starts exploring what makes her feel comfortable until she develops her own style, which is a curious mix of her unclesâ and motherâs styles: a red wizard robe, a shirt and bow tie with a sort of vest over it, along with a simple skirt with a belt at the waist like Cordelia's. Her hair is half-styled and messy like Greylockâs, and she wears large star-shaped earrings like her mother. Additionally, Calista loves to wear the hat that Merlin gave her.

reblog if you wear glasses. too many mutuals don't know they have glasses wearers in their midsts

It's a good point to consider that, for branding and merchandise reasons, they might look to change the amulet, though I feel like itâs already something iconic to the series, and Iâm not sure how much they would risk changing artifacts.
In any case, I think, as you said, it might undergo a change in appearance. However, within the series, I think Sofia could go through something similar to Elenaâs journey with her scepter and later with her emotional powers.
Personally, I would like the amulet to continue its path with another person, since the idea has always been for it to reach the hands of princesses who need its help. Maybe, at a point where Sofia no longer needs the amulet and realizes that just as it helped her find her way, it could help someone else. (Or bring them a bunch of villains who want to rob them, lol)
Besides, I doubt anyone in the family would want the amulet knowing all that comes with it.
If they opted for a more dramatic route, Iâd like to see the amulet lost in a great sacrifice for Sofia, which, at the end of the day, makes her realize that she is much more powerful on her own than because of the magic the necklace gave her.
The Amulet of Avalor: A blessing and a curse in the new series.
I have a feeling they're going to end up having to reduce the narrative influence of the Amulet of Avalor.
When it comes to the amulet, it's possible that they reduce its powers in some way. Or magically signals that Sofia no longer needs it, and that it should look for a new carrier, breaking her promise for the greater good.
( Or will it continue in the family? Will Miranda and Roland have a new member in the family? An adopted child, or perhaps a baby? Perhaps Aunt Tilly and Sir Bartley will have a child and Sofia will present the child with the amulet. )
Perhaps Sofia loses the amulet, implying that the amulet would be found by a new princess without Sofia having to break her promise.
Or, in a more "dark" alternative, the amulet becomes defective or breaks completely. Making it impossible for it to be used by her.
( Until it is fixed in a convenient way, so that it doesn't break the lore logic about the amulet being worn by multiple Disney princesses.)
Because its powers if they were "unlocked" at the grand finale of Sofia The First, and with Sofia's character development, the chances of her being cursed by it are reduced.
And if Sofia, using the Amulet of Avalor, doesn't have many challenges for her, what will the next challenges be?
On the merchandising front: if they decide to reuse the amulet, it's possible it will get an updated look.
If it already changed color during the series after Elena was freed from inside it, it's likely that it will undergo design changes in the new series as well.
( Whether it will get better or worse is debatable.)
What if they decide that the amulet is no longer viable as a recognizable source of merchandising? And that they need something more iconic and unique for the new series?
They will probably come up with some excuse as to why the amulet is no longer present, and have come up with a new "more magical and fantastic " item for Princess Sofia.
( Which also, will be equally debatable whether the change will be for the better or worse.)
And you guys? What do you think about this? I would like to know your opinion.

Cedlock fic I'm working on
(Again, this is another post where I show my obsession with this ship. If it's not of interest to you, keep sliding. Thank you very much!)
Well, I've been working on a little Cedlock fic where Greylock is a silly teenager trying to confess to Cedric. I didnât want to share anything yet, but the truth is, Iâm excited and need to say it.
Iâm not even halfway through, but I hope that announcing it will force me to finish it, lol.
A small preview:
A cheerful silent melody danced through his mind, making his heart flutter at the thought of Cedric. Immersed in his writing, Greylock forgot he wasnât alone.
âI like everything about you, your terrible humor, your passion forâŚâ a voice recited behind him, reading what he was writing. It was Muldo, his roommate.
Greylock immediately jumped in surprise, flipping the parchment face down onto the table with a dramatic slam before placing his hand on top to prevent Muldo from reading any further. A deep blush spread from his face to his pointed ears.
Muldo laughed, smiling in amusement.
âI didnât know you were in love, Greylockâ he said. "Is it someone I know?â
Greylock hesitated to tell him.
âCome on, tell me who it isâ he insisted. âI told you about Huan.â
âYou told everyone about Huanâ Greylock replied. The whole previous month, Muldo had bragged about his latest success in courting his crush. Greylock couldnât help but feel a bit jealous.
His small distraction was enough for his friend to grab the letter. Muldo held it high and quickly read aloud the last part written by Greylock.
âThe potions and the books that no one understands. Your curly hair and your long nose that Iâve teased so muchâŚâ Muldo squinted in confusion. âI thought Cordelia didnât like potionsâ he murmured more to himself than to share the thought.
âItâs not Cordelia!â Greylock shouted, trying to reach the letter. Muldo was quite tall. Or maybe Greylock was just a bit short.
His friend continued, struggling to keep the letter above him. âYour dark hair streaked with that white thatâŚâ
Muldoâs eyes widened as he realized. Suddenly, he stopped stretching and slowly lowered the letter, handing it back to Greylock.
âOh.â
Greylock took the parchment angrily and quickly rolled it up, looking at Muldo with a red face in awkward silence.
âSo⌠Cedric.â
Greylock wasnât going to be a coward this time and deny it.
âYes.â
Muldo is a canon character! I donât know if you remember him, as his existence is only based on a mention by Cordelia in "Too Cute to Spook." I like to think that Cordelia and Greylock are somewhat friends, so I figured Muldo would know Greylock too.
Iâm having fun.
Oh! This reminded me that the other day I was talking to a friend who asked me where I write my fics, like whether I do it when I get home or at school.
And I told her itâs mostly when Iâm on the bus/public transport because that time has to be used for something.
And she said: Have you ever thought that people might be reading what youâre writing? And honestly, no, I never thought about it. Because people do tend to glance at other peopleâs phones.
Well, I hope the people who read it enjoyed Greylock trying to win over Cedric, lol.
