I'm incredibly torn, because I want to put out a call to all the StF artists to draw Greylock as Cartos from Call the Name of the Night (because he gives me big Greylock vibes), but at the same time I really shouldn't because this is his canon outfit:

and nobody wants to see that.

So instead, I am asking anyone who wants to, please draw Cartos in Greylock's outfit, so the boy can be warm for once in his rotten life.

Also, please read Call the Name of the Night, it's a really cozy manga.

Only has lines in like one episode, hes fucking around with cedric for all of it but corrects The Fucking King after saving him and says that he couldn't have done it without cedric, he never berates cedric on his skills as a sorcerer and just says that hes more fun that him, once made an entire fucking zoo appear

I wish they would have done way more with him. Like you can have cedric talk about how his teenage years were and greylock could be there too!!! Or we could have known way more about royal sorcerers from other kingdoms!! Or we could have an important/interesting character from rudistan that isnt king fucking magnus of all people

Cedric elf hc

(I'm obsessed with elf Cedric so I'm writing some self indulgent hcs 😋)

• Elf lifespan is basically 2x the average human lifespan (Average human lifespan is 80 years and average elf lifespan is 400-450 years) and they reach the age of maturity around 80 years old. Cedric is still as old as he is in canon (41 y.o) so this makes him a very young elf, but due to stress from everyone's judgement of him and horrid sleep schedule he looks older than he actually is!

• He can wiggle his ears! Not every elf can do it but some can and his ears usually wiggles whenever he's irritated or excited.

• (pre-sorceress ball incident) Young king Roland was fascinated with Cedric's ears, young Cedric, who is aware of this fascination, would wiggle his ears to entertain him. Young king Roland would find this very amusing.

• Elves are far more slender than humans but Cedric is considered underweight for elven standard.

• He sees Sofia and the other kid characters as practically babies because of the elf age lifespan.

• During his time as student in Hexley Hall he's actually one of the top students and is academically well off, his top subjects is potion brewing.

• When he's flustered the tip of his ears turns bright red and his cheeks get hot!

• He's considered ugly in elven standard.

• His ears are particularly sensitive, he found this out the awkward way...

• When they were teenagers greylock teased Cedric a little too hard and accidentally grabbed Cedric's ear. This resulted in greylock getting a slap on the face and a very flustered Cedric.

• his family consists of pure elves (not mixed race between human and elf), pure elves have slightly longer and pointier ears, which is considered attractive.

Silly sketch I did last night about Cedlock

(Skip if you are not interested in the ship because I'll ramble a little, thank you very much)

So, here's the real reason why Greylock joined the Order of the wand. May everything be for the good of the kingdom and its alliances.

But I'm sure Cedric would never make a pose like that, this is all a Greylock's fever dream.

While doing so, I was thinking about an old song that, for some reason, brought up the following scenario:

Greylock, after trying (and failing) to flirt with Cedric for the hundredth time, breaks into a sad-dramatic song. Well, in my head it really works more like the classic drunk guy who starts singing for his ex.

The song is from Spanish, but here is the translation. Just like the other dialogues.

For some reason the song makes me think of them (Yeah, a Pedro Infante song, lol) Within my silly headcanons for this ship, I like to think that Greylock has been in love with Cedric for years. And since Cedric doesn’t even notice, Greylock is dying from his indifference.

Cedlock as uncles, Headcanon

(This post is entirely a rambling of mine about my little imaginary Cedric and Greykock being a couple, so if you don't care about the ship, skip the post.)

Alright, I have a series of headcanons about the family dynamic of Calista, Cordelia, and Cedric if Cedric and Greylock were a couple (meaning both would be Calista's uncles). What do you call that? Ship-headcanon? Even though the ship isn’t, unfortunately, real?

For this, imagine that at some point after the end of the series, Greylock and Cedric meet again, resolve their issues (and all that complicated matter with the Order of the Wand and Rudistan), and become a couple.

Greylock eventually moves in with Cedric in Enchancia because, well, he wants to be with him. They become a little family along with their nieces: Calista and Sofia (Sofia declared herself as their adoptive niece and didn’t take no for an answer).

When Calista is visiting the castle, Greylock and Cedric play with her, and, secretly from Cedric, Greylock teaches Calista some spells for pranks.

Quickly, Calista develops a taste for pranks like her uncle (harmless ones, of course), which gets on Cedric’s nerves.

When Calista enters her teenage years, she starts to have a slight conflict with her personal style because she finds that, unlike what Cordelia would prefer, she doesn’t really like the dresses and elaborate headpieces she is expected to wear.

Cordelia doesn’t insist on changing her mind because she understands, somewhat reluctantly, that Calista doesn’t share her love for fashion. However, she notices that Calista feels a bit insecure about the matter, so she asks her uncles to talk to her.

Cedric tells Calista that it’s okay if she wants to wear something simpler along with her wizard robe. Greylock, supporting Cedric, advises Calista to wear whatever makes her feel comfortable and like herself, without worrying if it might be a bit unconventional. (Greylock uses himself as an example, who, now free from King Magnus’s control, has started dressing even more, in Cedric’s opinion, extravagantly).

Calista feels better and starts exploring what makes her feel comfortable until she develops her own style, which is a curious mix of her uncles’ and mother’s styles: a red wizard robe, a shirt and bow tie with a sort of vest over it, along with a simple skirt with a belt at the waist like Cordelia's. Her hair is half-styled and messy like Greylock’s, and she wears large star-shaped earrings like her mother. Additionally, Calista loves to wear the hat that Merlin gave her.

Cedlock fic I'm working on

Well, I've been working on a little Cedlock fic where Greylock is a silly teenager trying to confess to Cedric. I didn’t want to share anything yet, but the truth is, I’m excited and need to say it.

I’m not even halfway through, but I hope that announcing it will force me to finish it, lol.

A small preview:

A cheerful silent melody danced through his mind, making his heart flutter at the thought of Cedric. Immersed in his writing, Greylock forgot he wasn’t alone.

“I like everything about you, your terrible humor, your passion for…” a voice recited behind him, reading what he was writing. It was Muldo, his roommate.

Greylock immediately jumped in surprise, flipping the parchment face down onto the table with a dramatic slam before placing his hand on top to prevent Muldo from reading any further. A deep blush spread from his face to his pointed ears.

Muldo laughed, smiling in amusement.

“I didn’t know you were in love, Greylock” he said. "Is it someone I know?”

Greylock hesitated to tell him.

“Come on, tell me who it is” he insisted. “I told you about Huan.”

“You told everyone about Huan” Greylock replied. The whole previous month, Muldo had bragged about his latest success in courting his crush. Greylock couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous.

His small distraction was enough for his friend to grab the letter. Muldo held it high and quickly read aloud the last part written by Greylock.

“The potions and the books that no one understands. Your curly hair and your long nose that I’ve teased so much…” Muldo squinted in confusion. “I thought Cordelia didn’t like potions” he murmured more to himself than to share the thought.

“It’s not Cordelia!” Greylock shouted, trying to reach the letter. Muldo was quite tall. Or maybe Greylock was just a bit short.

His friend continued, struggling to keep the letter above him. “Your dark hair streaked with that white that…”

Muldo’s eyes widened as he realized. Suddenly, he stopped stretching and slowly lowered the letter, handing it back to Greylock.

“Oh.”

Greylock took the parchment angrily and quickly rolled it up, looking at Muldo with a red face in awkward silence.

“So… Cedric.”

Greylock wasn’t going to be a coward this time and deny it.

“Yes.”

Muldo is a canon character! I don’t know if you remember him, as his existence is only based on a mention by Cordelia in "Too Cute to Spook." I like to think that Cordelia and Greylock are somewhat friends, so I figured Muldo would know Greylock too.

I’m having fun.

A very strange dream I had about Cedlock

This, as always, is a rambling of mine telling the dream I had of a very strange fic I dreamed I wrote. If you're not interested in Cedlock, you probably won't be interested in this, so keep scrolling. Thanks!

So lately, I've been working as much as I can on some WIPs I had pending (though I keep creating new ones instead of finishing the old ones, lol), and I've been especially focused on finishing my Cedlock fic that I mentioned the other day.

I think maybe I've been thinking about it too much because yesterday, somehow, I dreamed about it.

But it was a really strange dream, to be honest. I wasn't writing my Cedlock fic where Greylock tries to ask Cedric out, but rather something weird that I found amusing.

Did I just get a fic idea revealed to me in a dream?

In my dream, I was editing a WIP I had in my folder that was about Cedric being engaged to King Magnus. Stay with me, I know how it sounds, lol.

Yes, it was pretty strange. According to what I was reading in my Word document, King Roland had arranged Cedric's engagement to Magnus as part of some treaty or agreement (my dream didn’t make much sense, and the words looked weird).

Something happened in the middle that I don’t remember reading, and then there was a part about how Cedric was (Obliged) moving to Rudistan’s castle, where he met Greylock, who was more than angry about the situation.

I mean, I think he was angry because Cedric had married Magnus and not him, ahahaha.

Anyway, then something else happened that I don’t remember, but it was something like Magnus mocking Greylock and basically rubbing the marriage in his face.

And then, well, I wish I could remember how it ended. But I do remember that in my dream, I was like: This is the best thing I've ever written.

And then I woke up and just laughed at that idea.

Dreams are weird.

So, do you remember that dream I had about Cedric marrying Magnus? @mushroomsie224 said it was material for a crackfic, so here I am.

Instead of writing the fanfiction I promised (I’m still working on it), I ended up writing this other short story.

I hope it entertains you, I definitely had fun tormenting Greylock. He’s lucky I decided not to be too cruel.

A while ago, I mentioned that I have a bit of a crack headcanon that Greylock would sing heartbreak songs. For some reason, now every time I hear those kinds of songs, I think of that.

And here I am.

But of course, I grew up listening to these classics of my culture and I can only think about it, so that's why the song. All of you are going to appreciate Amanda Miguel and you'll like her 🫵🏼

This comes not only from that headcanon but also from something I wrote (here).

I drew all of this during class and it's funny to think that I don't have any notes because of this but it's worth it, lol.
