"If only the Mystic Isles weren't so hard to get to, perhaps we'd go there one day."

For Anti-Cedfia Week Day 4: Adventure.

which is probably because it's the only place you can't see his tower from
A very strange dream I had about Cedlock
(yes, just as you read)
This, as always, is a rambling of mine telling the dream I had of a very strange fic I dreamed I wrote. If you're not interested in Cedlock, you probably won't be interested in this, so keep scrolling. Thanks!
So lately, I've been working as much as I can on some WIPs I had pending (though I keep creating new ones instead of finishing the old ones, lol), and I've been especially focused on finishing my Cedlock fic that I mentioned the other day.
I think maybe I've been thinking about it too much because yesterday, somehow, I dreamed about it.
But it was a really strange dream, to be honest. I wasn't writing my Cedlock fic where Greylock tries to ask Cedric out, but rather something weird that I found amusing.
Did I just get a fic idea revealed to me in a dream?
In my dream, I was editing a WIP I had in my folder that was about Cedric being engaged to King Magnus. Stay with me, I know how it sounds, lol.
Yes, it was pretty strange. According to what I was reading in my Word document, King Roland had arranged Cedric's engagement to Magnus as part of some treaty or agreement (my dream didnât make much sense, and the words looked weird).
Something happened in the middle that I donât remember reading, and then there was a part about how Cedric was (Obliged) moving to Rudistanâs castle, where he met Greylock, who was more than angry about the situation.
I mean, I think he was angry because Cedric had married Magnus and not him, ahahaha.
Anyway, then something else happened that I donât remember, but it was something like Magnus mocking Greylock and basically rubbing the marriage in his face.
And then, well, I wish I could remember how it ended. But I do remember that in my dream, I was like: This is the best thing I've ever written.
And then I woke up and just laughed at that idea.
Dreams are weird.
Anti-Cedfia Week Day 2: Picnic
I was going to in fact draw/write something yesterday but I was extremely tired and fell asleep as soon as I got home :C I do want to complete all the prompts in one way or another so I wrote this. It may be a day late but...better late than never, I guess!
Context: this takes place before Day of the Sorcerers, sometime during Season 3.
Word Count: 859
A strange pair walked down the garden path that afternoon. A little girl, the youngest princess, pattering along with a small picnic basket, and a tall, brooding sorcerer trudging along beside her. Cedric hadnât been out of his tower in a while, and he did not enjoy doing so now.
âOut of all the people you could have invited to your little picnic, Princess Sofia, you invited me?â he grumbled.
The princess smiled up at him. âWell, youâre my friend! And weâll have a great time. Whatâs better than a picnic outside on a day like this?â
Cedric frowned. âNot that I donât enjoy your company, dear, but I donât find eating outside fun. Especially with the hot sun, the animals stealing food, not to mention all the creepy-crawlies outsideâŚâ
âBut you use them all the time in your potions,â Sofia pointed out.
Cedric swallowed. âWell, yes, butââ
âAnd the animals wouldn't steal anything! If they do, Iâll tell them off.â
âIââ
âAnd weâll be going to my secret garden. It has a lot of trees, weâll be shaded from the sun!
Cedric sighed in defeat. The princess seemed to find solutions to his every excuse. âOh alright then.â
Sofia showed him the way to her secret garden, a place that was not so secret anymore after she held a class tea party there, but that no one visited anyways even after that. Cedric helped her lay down the picnic blanket, then sat down somewhat awkwardly on it.
Just then, a tiny beetle landed right in front of him. Cedric yelped and moved away hurriedly. To his dismay, Sofia scooped the creature up in her hands and began to talk to it.
âHello, Mr. Beetle,â she whispered. âOh, your name is Bess? Well, hi there, Bess! Iâm Sofia. And this is my friend Mr. Cedric!â
She eagerly held the beetle out to the sorcerer, who immediately reached into his sleeve for his wand.
âSofia, pleaseâŚget that thingâŚaway from me,â he pleaded, trying to keep his voice level.
Sofiaâs brow furrowed. âBut sheâs so cute!â
Cedric shuffled even farther away, wand poised defensively. If Sofia had not taken a liking to the beetle, he would have already made it vanish with a spell.
âSofia, you may find it cute, but to me itâsâŚabsolutely terrifying. Can you tell it to go away? Please?â
Sofiaâs smile disappeared, being replaced with a concerned frown. She put the beetle down. It flapped its wings questioningly.
âSorry Bess, but Mr. Cedric is a little scared of you,â Sofia explained to it awkwardly. âSo you canât go near him. You can sit here next to me instead.â
She patted the space next to her on the blanket, then looked back at Cedric. âIs this fine, Mr. Cedric?â
Cedric relaxed slightly as the insect crawled away from him. He was still wary of its presence, but now it was at a fairly comfortable distance from him. âYes. Yes, thatâs fine. Thank you, Sofia.â
He reached for the basket at last and took out all the food they had packed for their picnic, eyes constantly flitting to their tiny guest.
âI didnât realise you were scared of beetles, Mr. Cedric,â the princess remarked as she picked up a sandwich.
He huffed, his cheeks turning pink. âWell, now you know.â
To his relief, however, her tone was free of judgement. âWhy are you scared of them?â
Cedric pondered over whether to tell her. He didnât like talking about such things, not after he had always been made fun of for it. But Sofia had not so far, so he decided to tell her. âWell, when I was a lad, my sister sometimes played tricks on me. One of the things she did often was hide beetles in my drawers and cupboards. They'd fly out at me all at once, with their awfully loud wings andâoh, no offence to your friend there,â he added hurriedly, noticing the beetle next to Sofia beginning to twitch its antennae rather quickly.
Sofia giggled. âDon't worry, Mr. Cedric, she just wants some food.â
Cedric smiled as she broke a small bit of lettuce from her sandwich and offered it to the beetle. It moved away in polite declination. Even though he was afraid of the thing, the scene itself was endearing.
âSo youâve been scared of beetles ever since?â the princess asked him.
He chuckled, nibbling a cookie. âAnd most other insects, yes. It's embarrassing to admit. Iâm a sorcerer after all! I have to use them all the time in my spells and potions.â
Sofia shook her head. âThereâs no need to be embarrassed! Weâre all scared of something.â
Cedric was grateful that she didnât laugh or make fun of him. He smiled warmly at her. âThank you, Sofia.â
They continued their picnic under the warm springtime sun. The beetle eventually left, allowing Cedric to let his guard down at last. As he listened to the princessâs chatter, the breeze picked up, wafting through his black and grey hair. Cedric breathed in the fresh air with a grin on his face. Perhaps it was a good idea to come out here after all.

I hope you liked it! Here's a bonus messy little sketch that I was originally going to finish and post accompanied with a drabble but uh...I obviously wrote more than a drabble, heh.
