minghao loves you, and it comes as easily as breathing most days.

however, when he wakes up at 4:43 in the morning because you’ve stolen the duvet in your sleep, he has to remind himself of that a little bit.

everyone has flaws, and yours is duvet-hogging. leaving him practically shivering on the other side of the bed — yes, he’s being dramatic, but he’s cold, and it’s some sort of ungodly hour, and so he sighs, and tries his best to pry the ends of the duvet from you.

you barely even stir when he tugs you closer, brushing a hand over your face and kissing your forehead; it’s practically an unconscious movement, it’s so automatic for him. one arm loops around your waist, the other manoeuvres him back under the duvet, and he sighs with relief at the warmth that settles over him.

that’s when you decide to wake up, your eyes barely even opening. “hao?” you whisper sleepily, syllables running into each other. “did i steal the blanket again?”

minghao rubs a soothing hand over your back. “no,” he lies, just a little one to coax you back to sleep. he’ll complain to you in the morning, over coffee and breakfast and a little bit of nagging.

“okay,” you say hoarsely, and curl even closer to him. “i’m going back to sleep now.”

he smiles, just barely, at your sudden announcement, and brushes his lips over your forehead again. “okay,” he agrees, but you’re already gone — looking so peaceful that even when he wakes later in the morning to discover you’ve stolen the duvet a second time, he can’t be mad; because despite your blanket-hogging tendencies, loving you still comes as easy as breathing.

Jun heard your crying before he ever saw you. Thankfully, despite the way his heart would always drop when he heard you crying, he knew what was going on. Therefore, he was ready to go straight into boyfriend mode for you.

And if that meant cuddling? Then so be it.

He'd picked up everything you'd asked him to get on his way home and dropped the bag at the foot of the bed, already climbing in to come to you. Your heating pad was plugged in and pressed against your abdomen, and he could see your wet cheeks in the low light as you uncurled just enough to look at him. Jun knew you: he knew your cramps were always particularly painful. On a good day, medicine could help a little bit...

But on days like these? All he could do was climb closer, letting you seek refuge in his arms for a bit. He shut his eyes, resting his head on yours as he traced hearts onto your back, feeling the way your grip tightened at his back, fistfuls of his sweater between your fingers. He could feel the heat of your heating pad as you pulled him in closer, just holding onto him as you sobbed into his chest. Jun snuggled in a little closer. If he could take on even a fraction of your pain, he would. Seeing you cry was... hard. Harder when it was like this, when he couldn't cheer you up and make you dinner and press soft kisses against your skin to make it all better. All he could do was hold you and hope that your cramps would die down enough. And then he would do what he always did: he'd leave you eventually to make something delicious to eat, and he'd offer you the first bite with that shy smile as he waited to see if you were happy. He would take care of you however he could. You were there for him when he was sick or tired; he would always be here for you when you needed him.

"I love you," he murmured, pressing another kiss onto the top of your head. "I'm sorry."

"Not your fault, Junnie..." You squeezed him a little tighter. "Don't apologize."

"I wish I could help."

Another squeeze. "You are. You're here."

He let out a sigh. But that doesn't feel like enough. Not when you're crying. "Can I do anything to help?" He continued to trail his fingers across your back, lazy, lop-sided hearts still being traced into your skin. "I can get more pillows, or blankets, or..."

You shook your head, leaning back just enough that he could see your tear-stained face. "Just... stay here with me."

He snuggled back in, a hand curling around the back of your head as he drew you closer. As you wish.

would internally scream over how cute you were, just casually settling your head in his lap. he’d most probably caress your cheeks with his fingertips or repeatedly lean down to kiss your forehead, because he just wouldn’t be able to handle your cuteness (even though you just literally laid your head on his lap, it couldn’t be that cute, right?). he would act very nonchalant and try to brush it off, but oh man, the butterflies in his stomach would make him go crazy:

this one wouldn’t try to hide his excitement, he’d just tell you straight forward that you're the most adorable thing, and that now he wouldn’t let go of you for the rest of the evening. he’d pull a blanket over you, tucking you in properly, because he can’t let his baby get cold (even though you’d be melting from his body heat alone). he’d run his fingers through your hair, and hold your hand for the whole time, not letting you go for even a second:

he’d just smile, and try to tease you, but the second you give them the “it’s really not amusing” look, he’d shut up, and pull you closer to his body. he’d repeatedly ask you if you were comfortable, and that he could hold you in a another way if you wanted. he’d look down at you with the biggest heart eyes, not that you could see that though, but he really looked like a love sick puppy, having you like this close to him:
