doing something that actually addresses the rampant unchecked pedophilia problem this site’s got going on in a way that doesn’t affect legitimate users
Like it’s hard not to read this as a knee-jerk reaction to the fact that the bot problem got so out-of-hand as a result of sheer negligence that the app got pulled off the two major mobile platforms, but it’s also hard to read it as anything else? That they’d ignore a problem for what feels like literally years until it starts to affect their ability to make money off their users, and then just rush out an automated system that allows them to go right back to not doing anything to actually manage this website?
Which is compounded by the fact that their previous attempts at automating it have, to put it bluntly, not even come close to resembling a functioning system at all, by any measure of the term.
And like, it does nothing to address the actual communities of pedophiles and pedophile-positivity blogs that are out there, that frequently get reported and are frequently left unbanned, or the pornbots that are not posting porn directly and whose links are obfuscated like something out of a seedy gold seller website in a 2000s mmo, or the actual people who are actually out there doing harm, posting about harm, and advocating wide-scale harm to minors and adults alike
Like, full disclosure, I don’t have a porn blog, I don’t follow porn blogs except by proxy, I barely do even artistically NSFW art anymore and I don’t post it when I do - though my sfw art has been flagged under their automated systems in the past - and all this post is telling me is that they don’t actually have any interest in managing this site
They got into this mess by putting zero effort in for a long period of time, their solution involves putting in a new system that lets them put zero effort over a long period of time. If this is how they want to run things, I’m out.
