     𝐬𝐡𝐞  𝐡𝐚𝐝  𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝  𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭  𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬  𝐚𝐧𝐝  𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭  𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬  𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧  𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐭𝐨  𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝  𝐭𝐡𝐞  𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫,     but  it  seemed  almost  cruel  twist  of  fate  for  john  that  the  latest  slayer  would  have  the  same  face  of  his  old  human  lover.     maybe  it  was  the  universe's  way  of  saying  john's     𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞     was  up.     he  would  no  longer  be  in  control,  no  longer  the  big  nasty  head  vampire  and  his  past  lover  was  here  in  a  whole  new  version  of  herself  to  take  him  out.     it  would  be  almost  amusing  if  she  hadn't  grown  so  attached  to  him  over  the  years.     he  was  like  the  annoying  brother  she  hadn't  asked  for  and  if  she  had  been  surprised  to  see     𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐞     again,  victoria  could  only  imagine  how  he  must  be  feeling,     "     john,  you  know  what  to  do.     don't  get  in  your  own  way,     "     victoria  told  him,  he  should've  learnt  from  last  time  that  it  was  only  going  to  be  trouble  if  he  got  himself  involved  with  a  human  again,     "     or  if  you  can't  do  it,  let  me  know  and  i'll  take  of  the  slayer  for  you,     "
