RISE: Jack Siegel
Jack Siegel was the first person who sparked my interest in photography. I still remember while all the other kids were going out sophomore year of high school, I was sitting on my computer, eagerly sifting through the numerous nostalgic photos that Jack took of his friends, and their carefree and interesting lifestyles. The pictures for me served as mirror to an entirely different world. You could feel the energy bursting out of them. Whenever I went anywhere, I would photograph whatever seemed interesting, no matter how seemingly insignificant. It made me happy to record such events.

James Franco is misunderstood. I think hes a genius, and proves that actors can be artistic and do different things. One of the things I like about him is he is very honest, and actually interested in people. I think this is what makes him such a conscious artist (as opposed to pretentious). I don't feel strange for trying to do too much now. Performance art is my newest fancy, Miranda July is my guide.

Miranda July is glorious. She had a new film out called "The Future", which can be considered a relationship drama of sorts. I haven't seen it, but the vibe seems to be like Breaking Upwards, a Daryl Wein and Zoe Lister-Jones film about a couple dealing with their open relationship. From what I remember about the film it was very honest and entertaining. I can definitely agree on July's stance on daily distractions. I waste so much time on Facebook, that I've gone on a weekend Facebook cleanse. I feel clearer minded and less anxious.
I miss tea and scones from London. I studied abroad in Cardiff last year, and every time I would visit my boyfriend in London, I had to get afternoon tea. There is this great place called Bea's of Bloomsbury in Islington. Their tea was served with warm scones and fresh clotted cream. The place literally had three tables so It was always a wait to sit down, but soo worth it.
