Uzès, France: Uzès is a commune in the Gard department in the Occitanie region of Southern France. Originally Ucetia or Eutica in Latin, Uzès was a small Gallo-Roman oppidum, or administrative settlement. The town lies at the source of the Alzon river, at Fontaine d'Eure, from where a Roman aqueduct was built in the first century BC, to supply water to the city of Nîmes, 50 kilometres away. The most famous stretch of the aqueduct is the Pont du Gard, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which carried fresh water over splendid arches across the Gardon river. Wikipedia

Cap Coz, Fouesnant, France:Cap Coz Is A Very Slender Spit, Oriented From West To East, Which Partially

Cap Coz, Fouesnant, France: Cap Coz is a very slender spit, oriented from west to east, which partially closes the northern part of the bay of La Forêt, which is part of the commune of Fouesnant (Finistère) and located near Port-la-Forêt. The coastal spit of Cape Coz was, for the first time in living memory, cut in three places in December 1865 under the effect of a tidal wave. In a petition addressed in 1871 to the general councillor of the canton, the residents denounced "the carts come (...) load sand on the top of the dunes and even in the breaches. Cape Coz is thus threatened with destruction in a more or less short time, if things are allowed to take their natural course for a while." Wikipedia
