this!!!! is literally what i’ve been telling people all these years i’m a very devoted friend and will consistently make small sacrifices to be a good friend for my friends cause it’s an equal give and take i sacrifice a little for them and they sacrifice a little for me and if they don’t? then it’s out of balance and i stop giving but this whole thing like YOUR OWN COMFORT ABOVE ALL ELSE and shit like DO WHATS BEST FOR YOU ALWAYS it kills the relationships you have with others cause you’re just 2 people refusing to be selfless with one another no ofc don’t throw yourself away for someone else like don’t lose yourself you should always be taking care of yourself but you can absolutely take care of yourself and someone else simultaneously prioritising yourself AND someone else?? it’s not mutually exclusive we have so much love and kindness inside ourselves like there’s enough for both ourselves AND other people meaningful and healthy relationships are balanced ok it’s a give and take and you can’t get long lasting bonds with people if you refuse to self sacrifice every now and then that’s it thank you for coming to my tedtalk 🤘
