Psychoanalyze... Sapnap!

Sapnap's a character who has a lot of potential but who hasn't really gotten much attention in the narrative. He was one of Dream's closest friends for a long time, but ironically I've seen him compared very often to Tommy - rash, abrasive, loyal to a fault, he cares deeply about the people he's close to, and he's been punished for it.

One of his fiances is implied to be slowly forgetting everyone he loves, has to all appearances already forgotten their other fiance, and that's caused a rift in Sapnap and Quackity's relationship as well. Sapnap was deeply hurt by Dream saying he doesn't care about him, and now his canonical father (BBH) is being mind controlled by some egg to the point where he probably wouldn't care if Sapnap lived or died.

We've seen a little bit of how Sapnap is handling this - he deal with his cognitive dissonance regarding Dream by changing his perception of his friend, rather than ignoring all the evidence against him - which, believe it or not, is pretty difficult to do! I think it speaks a lot to his character that he changed his mind on his own, rather than being forced to. Most people would rather ignore the truth than face up to it. Sapnap is actually very pragmatic, at the end of the day - he knows when to cut his losses, even if said loss is a friendship he cared deeply about. It's not worth it if it means hurting more people in the process.

I'm excited to see more from his character - I hear he might be doing a lore stream soon, if he really gets into it I think his story will be very compelling. I'll be keeping an eye on him!

boomer: what? aw surely not

punz: he’s a little bit better than me

boomer: how in the hell did you guys- who even practices 1.16 PvP?

sapnap: I had to 1v1 Dream all the time when he was training for Techno for like all the time that’s how I got good. the only person i can’t consistently beat is Dream. I’ve never 1v1ed Techno, I’ve 1v1′ed Fruit. last time I 1v1′ed him I think I beat him every time.

boomer: you beat Fruit every time?? Punz just got his ass kicked

punz: yeah Fruit just 14-0'ed me on the battle box 1v1s- we did sword only and he 14-0'ed me

sapnap: well I was doing axe and shield with Fruit

I just remembered I have a project due tomorrow and I haven’t even started the slides :D
